How to fix your Head Gasket for $100 with Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer!

  • Trust me, this is nothing like stop leak. We all know that most "pour in you radiator fixes" are bad for your cooling system. Blue Devil Head Gasket sealer, being a chemical based sealant, will not clog your system like other products that leave clumping particulates in your coolant. I can hardly believe it, but it actually worked. Watch the video see how to do it!

Forgot something, I asked blue devil if it was better to leave it in so it keeps working. They said you can but it won't keep working as the chemical reaction is heat activated. Once you run your car and heater for the 50 mins the chemical reaction of the blue devil is done and so is any repair that happened is finished. Leaving it in longer doesn't do anything. I ended up draining it and putting in new anti freeze. Hope that helps anyone who goes for it.

That's odd because people have used the pour and go and it failed so they used the yellow label blue devil after and it worked.

I've seen a lot of videos on head gasket sealers and I have to say yours is the most precise, specific and easily understandable. I always use distilled water. Never ever use City water tap water from your house. House water is full of minerals calcium lime and it will eat your radiator up! You took your time and it is a relaxing video to watch. God bless!

@@TrailBendersOverlandhey man great video! I honestly wish I found it sooner, but so many other videos come up before yours, which I really don’t understand that algorithm on anyone’s device, but I’m very happy that I did find your channel and this specific video along with the one year after video for this one. I don’t know if you’ll see this probably not because you do have a lot of subscribers and comments on newer videos. I’m sure that will pop up first but, I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind me putting in my phone number down in the comment until you get it and then I can delete it so I don’t have too much spam lol, because I do have a question about putting the blue devil in my Toyota and there’s just a couple steps that you did that. I have a question on, but only if you don’t mind, I don’t want to make you feel pressured or like you have to or something, so just let me know, thanks! I’m planning on doing it by Saturday 3/16/2024. I keep holding back because I’m so afraid to mess up

Your vid was super helpful. Did a lot of research and the yellow blue devil seemed like the best to take a shot with. I did call blue devil for clarity on one thing which was making sure your engine is cold when you add the blue devil since the chemical reaction is heat activated. I initially thought when the instructions and even video said let engine cool and then add sealer it just meant don't open your radiator cap when the engine is still hot to avoid injury but the blue devil rep said wait at least 2 hours after the final flush before adding the blue devil. Finished it on Monday 9/26/22 and so far so good. Was a little freaked out because I was still getting some bubbles at the radiator cap that day after it was all done but I think that was just air in the cooling system working it's way out. I'll repost if it all goes south.

I know this is an older video but I purchased the same product. Chased an issue for months replacing radiator, water pump, and thermostat. Found out that you can buy a block tester kit for $30 and it came back as a bad head gasket exhaust leaking into the antifreeze. I tried a product called Kseal which is a pour and go solution and it didn't work. I drain my entire system loaded in Blue devil ran for 50 minutes idle and now it's sealed. Hope that it stays still for a long time but nonetheless I am impressed.

Am in the Bahamas where is hot all year round, did a head job 3 weeks ago and the gasket lasted about a week before I noticed it started to mix again I was about to sell my car for little to nothing and blue devil cost about $80 bucks just for the 16oz pour and go version of it, eventually the auto store dealer convinced me that it works, so I bought it and in no min I saw it starting to take effect and work, I would recommend this product to anyone who gasket fails.

you used this for a water pump leak? wth... next time replaced the water pump. pumps cost around $80-100. ask a cousin or guy friend to do it for you. Its a very simple job, Minimum 30 min job. Dont ever do this again if you know where its leaking from. You can damage your engine using this stuff, This stuff is ONLY for people who KNOW they have a head gasket problem and dont have the money for gasket repair which costs $2k-$5k's. This is ONLY a last resort. Thats ALL its intended for nothing else.

Started leaking pretty substantially and we had to replace the water pump and thermostats and hose out the entire system. Not sure if the head gasket is solved or not. It was such a minor potential leak. I had just used blue devil because there was a concern it might be leaking and figured the best shot was to try it before things got worse.
So, maybe it sealed up a leak. Don’t know. Definitely it ruined a water pump and thermostat.

I have a Ford F-150 ( 99 ) Xl, had milky oil found on dip stick, water kept emptying from reservoir, no other issues, this past Friday 3/5/2021 I wanted to give Blue Devil a try why not right, flushed radiator with water, drained , cleaned reservoir out, it was dirty, also oil cap had milky substance on underneath cap, another sign, so flushed 2 times till clear water ran through, hooked all hose back and drain plug tight, fill with 2 gallons of water, not with engine running though, like instructions said, poured Blue Devil in slowly, into radiator not reservoir, put cap on reservoir and started engine let run idle for 40 minutes and went to brothers shop to have my oil changed, about 15 drive, they emptied oil out and put 4 quarts in engine ran for 15 minutes to clean it out, then drained again added 5 quarts it takes and oil filter to, drove home let sit 1 hour and pulled dip stick and they did there at shop and clear oil, no antifreeze on dip stick, today is 3/7/2021 and no milky oil seen on dip stick,,, Well seen many reviews on this product and most does work, I caught mine very early though might make a difference, 3 days before that had to add a little oil less than half quart and hadn't noticed and milky oil on dip stick, satisfied so far, I will post later in time to see how it holds up..I think in opinion it's working for me..let's see...

@@Ghryst well i tried it 3 days ago and I dont think it worked. combustion gasses are still in coolant. I think I used too little blue devil. My nieces jeep uses 3.5 G of coolant and the bottle says to use half for a 3G system. I used half but I think I shouldve used 3/4 of the blue devil. No overheating yet but thats because it takes a full week to start overheating from coolant lost/burning up/evaporating. I did flush the system out today at least 3 times before giving her the truck back and told her to save her money for a gasket repair. Not sure if it was my fault or the product didnt work. Im probably going to try another product next weekend. If that doesnt work then i give up on it. Btw there isnt any coolant in oil or smoke coming out of exhaust. Just strong smell of combustion gasses in radiator and very light bubbling in reservoir.

newton I stopped getting bubbles entirely. It’s possible it improved it without fully fixing. I also left the blue devil in for over a month. I intended on only leaving it for a few days... lol but it stayed a bit longer. Didn’t hurt anything. I didn’t get any overheating for normal driving when it was it was blown. Only when I was driving for a long time or pushing over mountains. All that issue went away completely after using this stuff.

Thanks, TBO for posting the video! I'm getting P301, P302 (misfiring on cylinders 1 and 2) on my 2011 Toyota Prius w/ 213,000 miles. My car shudders a little at startup and then smooths out after a matter of seconds. No loss of power during driving, no milky oil, no visual signs of leaks, or excessive white exhaust from the tailpipe. The repair shop found combustion gases in the cooling system which is indicative of a blown/head gasket. Do you think I'm a good candidate for Blue Devil? I was also looking into Steel Seal, did you consider that product? Thanks in advance for any input you or your followers might have!

Hi, I'm glad you found it helpful! That's what we're here for. It honestly sounds like your Prius is a perfect candidate. If you aren't having major issues then it's probably a mild leak like mine was and Blue Devil should work great. I'm sure there are a couple other companies that work, but I can only recommend blue devil since it's what I used and it worked so well. I actually just put out a "1 Year Later Video" I'll link it here: ua-cam.com/video/f6pv9p8lEQg/v-deo.html

@@TrailBendersOverland I have a Blue Devil update. I brought my car to Cloverdale Express Oil & Car Repair cloverdalexpress.com in Cloverdale California. The owner is Jennifer and wow was she knowledgeable and thorough. She and her mechanic Isreal first did a pressure test that showed good compression. They recognized the misfiring as a possible coil issue but found out it wasn't that by running a test on it. Then they used a mini-camera in cylinder 1 that showed her there was a tiny leak from the head gasket into the top of the piston causing the misfire by getting the spark plug wet and as soon as the car warmed up, the expansion of the metal made the leak go away which allowed the car to run like normal. A coolant flush and water replacement with Blue Devil was performed. The engine light has stayed off for 50 miles. I'm going to bring back in after 500 miles to follow up and add the radiator fluid back in if all goes well. I'll give you another update when I can. I hope this is helpful for some of your followers!

My would drive normally for hours, then when I slow down to a stop it would start overheating. It would happen much faster when going up mountains or towing a trailer. Normal daily was almost entirely unaffected other than a slightly rough cold start in the morning. Blue Devil suggests if your engine can't idle for an hour without overheating then your head gasket might be too far gone. I'd probably still try it myself, since the alternative is much more expensive. Hope that helps!

Will the truck run on its own for an hour? That’s the main test. From what I’ve seen it might be too far gone for a solid fix by blue Devil. You do need to run the heater so that the coolant will run through the heater core. However, you do not need to run it at full blast. Running the heater on high will rob you of some of that needed heat.

That said, within my first hour of driving I noticed a difference it how it runs and ever since it’s been amazing. That was around 8 months ago now. When I got around to putting the anti freeze in I didn’t do a full flush, just drained enough to add anti freeze. Blue devil says it’s perfectly safe to let it mix afterward.
