The photos/videos of the apartments are so interesting, especially with your pros and cons comments. It's also nice to see the outside neighborhood; so many times we hear or read the names of the districts whether in fiction or non-fiction, and it's nice to be on the ground actually looking at the areas. I've seen several of your videos and plan to work through all of them, thank you.
The apartment with the really tight kitchen did have doors between the livingroom and the bedroom. There were pocket doors in the walls to left and right.
LOL...I paid only $90 dollars a month for a one bedroom , one bath, large eat in kitchen , living room apt on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in the early 1970s when I was single and working as a fashion illustrator, and that was rent controlled, an old brownstone! With two roomates that was $30 dollars each! Then I rented a brand new studio apt. when I moved to the suburbs, with AC, a full walk in closet, huge linen closet, galley kitchen, one bath with tub along with swimming pool/tennis courts for just $162 a month! That same apt on the Upper East Side, now renovated goes for $2500 - 3000 a month for one person! Used to pay just 10 dollars a month for food and next to nothing for utilities! Subway fare was 35 cents a ride, movies were $1.25, a drink at a single's bar was around 2 -3 dollars! A bounced check was just $3.00!! What are the skyrocketed prices today! And we thought inflation was bad in the 1970s?? HA!! I wouldn't pay any of the exhorbitant prices today that have gone through the stratosphere since then, just shows you just how GREEDY people have gotten these days and everything keeps on going up and up..the landlords, real estate, property taxes, home insurance, the greedy banks with their outlandish fees!
Girl, you should do an apartment tour too! (If you are comfortable with it, of course.) Your space looks super cozy, from the looks of it. After moving to NYC, its always difficult to decorate when you have so little to work with.
I'm going to be moving soon, will do an apartment tour later this year. Decorating is so important honestly to make these old NYC apartments look cute haha! And, thank you
Ooh yes what part of Brooklyn are you looking in? The next one in this series I explored UES/UWS and they’re definitely cheaper than Chelsea and East Village. Thanks for watching 😄
I live in Brooklyn I got a 1 bedroom for $1,950 in crown heights/ bedstuy. Brooklyn is a little cheaper depending on where you live and if the building is new or updated
Loved your video ! I have a best friend who lives in Chelsea ( Towers) I prefer the Westside of Manhattan 79th street to 74th street Zabars, Fairway, love Chirpen Chicken and NYC pizza ! Thanks
Thank you for watching! The next one in this series has a couple UWS apartments. I will also try and make on exclusively of UWS, because I love that part of Manhattan :)
Hello Urvi, would you be able to please share the address of the 2nd Chelsea apartment? I am currently looking and definitely want to check this building out. Thanks in advance!
Part of the charm of East Village apartments is that so many of them are OLD. Old, and quirky, and weird, and funky. Her not liking that the first apartment she showed us was old clearly indicates that she totally doesn't understand. So, THUMBS DOWN, and no way am I subscribing.
That’s okay, everyone is entitled to their opinion as well as likes & dislikes. I didn’t say that an old apartment could not be made cozy. Having only lived in buildings that were a 100+ years old in my last 4 years of living in New York City, I am of the personal opinion that old apartments that are crumbling are not best suited for me. This one was not charming or quirky old, it was just falling apart and not in the best condition, it also had cabinets that were not cleaned, bathroom with mold etc. If that’s to your liking, I respect that. :)
so sad in this culture kids are obsessed with moving out, think about your mother id happily give away 90 percent of my freedom in order to take care of my mom and be with her, our generation needs to learn to be more adjusting and accepting

Love this video, super helpful! But I couldn't ignore that weird ringing noise in the background? was it the music playing or?
It was a mic issue, sorry about that! I tried to tone it out as much as possible
Excellent Video-------Keep it going

@@theurvimehta your welcome great weekend same to you
The most important thing I want to know does these apartments have rodents? Because we know that NYC has a really bad rodent problem.
None of these apartments had any rodents, not openly running around atleast.
Can't believe people want to live in this hell hole.
