Tom Simpson Well, alternatively to simply using the refiner, you can use the resources to grow the plants in planters. I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I believe that if you just put the plants into the refiners by themselves, you can get certain resources or materials. For example, I know refining Frostwort makes straight up glass, so if you like making big bases with lots of views, that’s always good to keep in stock.
Also, never craft creature pellets. If you put 1 carbon in a nutrient processor you get back 1 pellet each, compared to the crafting of 60 carbon for 5. That makes a 12x decrease in materials needed

I made about 90 million units from chlorine tonight because of this recipe! I started with about 1.6 million units in my bank account and about 4000 units of chlorine and a couple hours later I've got 15 stacks of chlorine! Lol this is amazing for money making 😂
You can also use oxygen to turn magfe into rusted metal, then back into fe dust. Saves on storage. Also you can mix carbon with fe dust to make mag fe. Lots of useful recipes.
Personally I still find chromatic expansion with indium worthwhile, it's possible to make infinite chromatic metal and stellar material with both emiril and indium but it's much slower than it used to be. Indium gets you 4 chromatic metal so if you start with 500 indium and 500 chromatic metal you can turn that into 1000 indium then you can turn 250 indium back into chromatic metal to end up with 750 indium and 1000 chromatic metal so you can increase indium by 50% each loop and chromatic metal by 100% each loop.
Actually, for Chromatic Expansion, it still works with Indium (and I think Emeril as well, but I can’t do the math in my head for that one). While it’s not as efficient as it used to be, it still works, so getting Indium early is super handy since you can duplicate it up and as you get more it becomes more worthwhile to expand
Another excellent video Jason. I love the salt / chlorine expansion using oxygen. In one of my saves (pre Origins) I built a 35 refiner Refinery and had a 35K Oxygen Farm and 35K Salt Farm. Made a ton of money in one full cycle using all refiners... ah, those were the good old days
If you're on a space station all the pilots will sell oxygen too xD you can usually buy from 4 or 5 pilots before it is out of stock... then you can either wait a few minutes or just save and reload :p
Using the personal refiner glitch, you can double your items if you have something that can be melted down and leave it in that slot and then put what you want in the first slot. I usually have something that's of value and keep giving that to other players so it's not coming out of my own inventory. Just want to say thank you for that and let you know what I found out
Yesterday i found a system in which the space station spawns npc pilots with oxygen and cobalt each having at least 4000units each. It's crazy, you have to just do reload save cause npc pilots economy don't reset.
Best money making process I've found so far doing all this is duplicating the ionized cobalt to 5-10 stacks, then refine it all back to cobalt, doubling it. Get a tricked out hauler and fly around to every station. Every single station carries Cobalt. Sell it all to crash the market, then buy it all back on the cheap. With 10 ish stacks of cobalt, I make between 25 and 35 million, depending on what the market value is. Selling it all drops it to around -80%, then I buy it all back for around 5 million and move on to the next one.
what about the recipe for turning the “junk” items into stuff? like 1 residual goop turns into 1 viscous mucous then turns into 1 living slime then turns into 1 runaway mold which 5 of that turns into a nanite!
you just need to set a mine of copper. refine the copper into chromatic metal then use it with cadmiun/emeril/indium... I get a stack of copper every few hours, log in put in the refiner to make more cad. WE NEED A FACTORIO UPDATE to make so we can connect vaults(or chests we need something smaller maybe with 2~6 slots just to use on this kind os system or as the first base inventory we create on a base on the quest line) and connect refiners so we could create things like this: connect the copper mine to a chest then connect this chest to a refiner to transform it into Chromatic Metal. Connect this refiner to another that is connected to one chest filled with cadmium on the input and after duplicating the cadmiun with the chromatic metal you have it connected to an output chest that you connect to the input chest(or make it the same using the cad created to make more automatically until the chest is full with 2~6 stacks of 1000(survival)~19998(normal).

Soooooooooo good!! Thank you soooooooooo much!! You are a MASTER of information of this game and have made my gaming experience so much better! Thank you!
Guys, I know it’s been a year but here’s what I do. Start with chlorine to get enough money to buy a hauler to have as an extra ship in your free freighter. Use the trick for ionized cobalt to fill about half the ship with regular cobalt. (You need enough to crash the economy but it’s very time consuming to farm the oxygen and wait for the refiner). Go to any space station of a decent wealth system and sell all of your cobalt at once to drop the price to -80%. Buy it all back and use the rest of your money to buy from all the shops that land to fill the rest of your hauler. Now every time you go to a new system: switch to your hauler, crash the economy (a full hauler will get you about 90 million) buy it all back for 20%the cost, then switch back to your other ship
make like 20 full stacks of chlorine... find 10 space stations that SELL chlorine. make a list and keep it. go to them one at a time, sell all the stacks. then buy them back at an 80% discount. go to the next station and repeat. takes about 30 min to hit all 10 stations, you still have all of your chlorine and you make about 1 billion units. just repeat when you start to run low on units.
9:30 Well... this may be a late answer, but so far, for me, it's the Gold+Silver+Copper/Cadmium/Emeril (the "rarer", the higher the yield) (at the moment, I don't know how much I'd get from Gold + Silver + Indium, as I've yet to explore blue systems)
Id like to point out that even though nerfed, indium will still produce 2-1 when reifine into chormatic metals allowing you to infinite loop if you refine it into chromatic metals and back, its a bit slower than before but using the unlimited access to chromatic metals you can duplicate any quanitity of any other base metal (copper, cadmium, indium or emeril.) It just requires a bit of a runaround now.
It's not just me! I was trying to prove a point to my boys that you could do Chromatic Expansion on Copper, I started with 20 copper, and ended up with 15. Emeril and Indium still work though. I thought I had tried Cadmium too, but I don't recall PS. Just started a new playthrough Saturday on my brand new gaming PC. Previously only played on XBox where I have nearly 700 hours of gameplay!
Love the vids love the info. Im definitely subbing after this. You deserve to be the #1 page for NMS content lol I just have one question. How did you get THAT amount of storage? I don't know if you made a vid about it, but would really love to know how
Oxygen recipe...condensed carbon (carbon 2:1), kelp sac (nitrogen+salt, 1:1), and gamma root (uranium+oxygen, 2:1 and 1:1 respectively). Yields 1:10. works great if you find a nitrogen cloud to farm
Was passively listening to this while playing and eating and stuff, had to stop what I was doing and rewind the video because i thought you said with oxygen and phosphorus you could make salami 😂
You can expand chromatic metal with indium and back. 1 chromatic + 2 Indium = 4 chromatic. And - 1 Indium + 1 Chromatic = 2 Indium. So you can farm indium and Chromatic that way.
activated emril turn into chromatic metal if you refine it. Then do what he's doing at 1:40. You just need a few emril to get started and you can double your total over and over. So in 2 steps, you turn activated emril into chromatic metal then into emril.
So in other words, Oxygen is broken. Gotcha. 🤘🤘 Trying to get all caught up. Been away from the game for a long time. Started a new save, got to the Anomaly and ran up to someone ( who I thought was an NPC ) and held X to speak to them and it said "so&so declined you invitation". I was like, wait a second..... That's another player. Completely threw me off guard. I just sat in the Anomaly after that for like an hour just gawking at people because I had never seen another player in-game before lol.
Hi, new subscriber and player, loving it all. Quick question, how did you get the groot looking head? I can't see it in my character edit options on the space station.
I know this is kind of off topic but does anyone know how to get Minotaurs and Nautilons on the freighter exocraft terminal? I have built them and the roamed before but the only one that is working is the roamed. When I try to spawn the other 2 it just says I don’t own them. Any ideas?
Huh.. That's a bit strange. As long as you have the exocraft room on your freighter, you should be able to summon your exocraft as long as your freighter is in the same system as you? Unless this is a new bug. But I haven't run into this problem. I hope it fixes, Nomad+Empty planet low gravity = Fun
you didnt even mention the infinite dihydrogen put some dihydrogen in a refiner (30 per jelly) than plop those up to 10 jellies back in the refiner to get 50!!!! dihydrogen back per jelly... (it DOES take about 10 mins, but reults in 66% more dihydrogen than you started with... using powered refiners (ie base type medium and large) allows you to do sets of 10 with NO COST AT ALL using portable refiners or personal gives 5 jelly per full refill so you should do sets of 5

You can expand chromatic metal with indium and back. 1 chromatic + 2 Indium = 4 chromatic. And - 1 Indium + 1 Chromatic = 2 Indium. So you can farm indium and Chromatic that way.
Wow Jason, awesome as always.
Thanks. Is there a way to deactivate items. I have tons of activated emril but need deactivated.
activated emril turn into chromatic metal if you refine it. Then do what he's doing at 1:40. You just need a few emril to get started and you can double your total over and over. So in 2 steps, you turn activated emril into chromatic metal then into emril.
@@pierrepellerin249 thanks, so simple . facepalm
This changed my game, no longer struggling for carbon
Are there any materials refined from three sources so the big refinery actually would make sense?
These are some amazing recipes. Thank goodness I just made an oxygen mine before I even realize how useful it is.
What is your profile pic from it looks familiar
@@Ertwon. Its yoruichi from Bleach
Jason do you know you have a space station named after you
So in other words, Oxygen is broken. Gotcha. 🤘🤘
Trying to get all caught up.
I just came back to the game in 2022 and I'm still amazed that economy crashing is still in the game especially with this still in the game.
Jason, thanks for another great video. Your're the man. Keep up the good job.
Can you make emeril in the refiner? Haven’t played for a while so don’t know lol
No but you can kinda dupe it like he did with the copper
Hi, new subscriber and player, loving it all. Quick question, how did you get the groot looking head? I can't see it in my character edit options on the space station.
Quicksilver store
For early players the chromatic metal is still worth it. They can turn copper into the higher tier metals.
Ohhh man, this is great! thx bro, your a legend!
But wait theres even more...
Like the old school infomercials 😅😂
Early morning video. Nice.
Hey Jason has anyone or you, found out what the new element basalt they added is used for?
Can u make di hydrogen with out having to break down the jelly
I don't think so but maybe
Chlorine still the highest price element that i know that can duplicate, any suggestions?
I know this is kind of off topic but does anyone know how to get Minotaurs and Nautilons on the freighter exocraft terminal? I have built them and the roamed before but the only one that is working is the roamed. When I try to spawn the other 2 it just says I don’t own them. Any ideas?
Huh.. That's a bit strange. As long as you have the exocraft room on your freighter, you should be able to summon your exocraft as long as your freighter is in the same system as you? Unless this is a new bug. But I haven't run into this problem. I hope it fixes, Nomad+Empty planet low gravity = Fun
you didnt even mention the infinite dihydrogen
put some dihydrogen in a refiner (30 per jelly)
than plop those up to 10 jellies back in the refiner to get 50!!!! dihydrogen back per jelly... (it DOES take about 10 mins, but reults in 66% more dihydrogen than you started with...
using powered refiners (ie base type medium and large) allows you to do sets of 10 with NO COST AT ALL
using portable refiners or personal gives 5 jelly per full refill so you should do sets of 5
I made 1 billion units in a couple hours. I sold chlorine for 143 million at a terminal, crashed the price, bought it back for 35 million, and kept doing that at a bunch of space stations.
What's a good way to get oxygen?
is this melody in the endscreen from the goonies?
So I have activated emeril and I'd like to turn it into regular emeril, does anyone know how to do that?
Chlorine is by far the best as you can continuously expand it
Love your content man.
I watched your videos for like 2 years and never subscribed. Today I was like OK I do it as i want see how excited your sound when you hit 100 Thousand subscribers. You bet sound excited. 🙄
Thanks just got into this game when hearing all the good stuff about this game
Yes was using this in the last video . I’ve not got a refiner I goto other bases and use thers some have 3 . It was brill . Do you have any good food recipes as we are hungry lol
Remember buy low sell high, and manage your freighter's frigates.
My damn refiner keeps jacking all my stuff
Happens to me too, if I leave and take to long to to come back all my shit be gone.
