@@1cyAtticus Well since watching this video I decided to make money with an activated indium farm and nanites by buying every s class ship I see and scrapping it for storage augmentation and s class modules I can sell. Best way I've found to farm nanites is by being rich in the credits department.
I started off with a Cobalt business, then I went with Chlorine and then I went into the Activated Indium empire. Now I also own a Gravitino ball farm as my side hustle 😎🤘🏻
Cobalt market crashing is freaking broken, but the easiest money. Activated Indium mining is the most laid back way since it accumulates automatically once built (they nerfed the output tho). Chlorine duplication is the easiest way without straight up exploiting mechanics, but it does beg the question of how oxygen can just duplicate matter. More importantly, the oxygen needed is cheap, common, and can even be mined. It does get tedious to run the processing though.
So, a few people have pointed this out already, but the pugneum has been replaced with tainted metal. Also, with the chlorine exploit, the best way to go about it is to go to a system that buys and sells chlorine. Hit up the terminal, sell your inventory, which tanks their demand to -75%. Then, buy it all back at a fraction of the price. Then, find yourself another system, rinse and repeat. Your chlorine stock will increase with each cycle, because you'll not only buy back the chlorine you sold, but you'll also be buying the terminal's inventory as well. For example, I sold 150,000 chlorine for 88million units, bought it all back plus around another 10,000 for 15million. Went to the next system, sold for 98million, bought back for 16million.
I've noticed that when you sell the mods they stack similar ones. So if you have 10 pulse drive modules then it'll look like one with the combined sales price for all of them.
You can still crash the economy at the space stations. If you are not wanting to buy the items back, then sale to the ships that fly in, but if you want your items back, use the space station and buyback the items at the crashed price. Great video Jason.

You are a great asset to our community, Jason! Keep up the good work man. I learn a lot watching your videos. Not just how to get cool ships and multi-tools, but how to do "normal" stuff in the game. Like using hot keys S and W to take quantity of anything you have selected up and down. I didn't even know we could do that till this morning man! LOL! What a *DOH!* revelation THAT was! 😱😨😵😁
Easiest way to make money: I just go AFK in the anomaly and either sell all the bs people dump on me, or sell the good stuff people give to me 😆. There is always a saint that’ll dump about 6-10 mill worth of items on you while your asleep.
Can't you just duplicate and dump items on randoms on creative mode? I duplicate some items worth around 10-15mill each and dump them on randoms whenever I go to the anomaly.
I now start with a base, teleporter and two mid refiners. So I buy the oxygen from stations and traders in port, but you can always turn Carbon into Oxygen. I then duplicate Ionised Cobalt as I think you get the same return as Chlorine, and the first batch is just to fund a bunch of Oxygen and warp around to buy extra suit storage. Once I have enough suit storage for two full rows of spare storage I get enough Ionised Cobalt to fill half those rows. And it is then free to refine 1 X Ionised Cobalt to 2 X Cobalt. All this takes hours from the start, but I am then setup to fill those suit rows with just Cobalt and then I am ready to go. I then bounce around all the substations I've visited crashing Cobalt prices, selling at value and buying it all back, and then some at -80% value. That is why I pick Cobalt as every station trades it. Then within on time you have a few 100 million units. Then get a A-Class Hauler with full 48 slots and an Economy Scanner. I set the A-class so that all tech and regular goods are from bottom to top, so I can store all the cobalt from top to bottom, and just trade from the ship and it all stacks nicely back. So once I warp to new places, I can crash Cobalt on Space Station but then find Trading Ports on planet and crash that on the same jump. You don't get the best return on Cobalt but every jump gets two trades that are soon stacked up to be worth around 100 million units per jump, which is more than enough to be playing with. Once you got enough units just get a 2nd ship and park your Cobalt A-Class Hauler till you need more units. People state that crashing the markets is a cheat. I don't think it is. It is a feature and not a bug, as it has been refined and not removed. As markets stay crashed for a long time now, another reason to bounce to new places with Cobalt. And it is kind of a political statement that reflects real life. Billionaires and governments do this all the time with things like crypto-currency and trading. They crash the markets and buy up cheap, remember then they were paying people to buy oil as it had gone so cheap - actually nerfed compared to real life, money makes money.
It was more helpful for me to see it in words, thank you. I started off my enterprise digging up bones and it shall end as a galaxy spanning billionaire cobalt empire
I found it a tad quicker to be on a planet that had extreme storms happening frequently, and gathering storm crystals to sell for units. But that's just me. :P I'm fairly new.
Yep. Getting hazmat gloves and going nuts on storm crystals is the key to your first couple million, which you can use to immediately buy up a to a great ship, and it's all downhill from there. I loved playing through the game (once all the storylines were in place), but I don't understand how anyone is broke in this game for any length of time.
Mining activated indium is the way to go. You can make millions in a day depending on the mining structures and depots. Way easier than running around picking crystals.
You can actually make more money if you sell the chlorine to a station trade terminal that has some chlorine in the buy section, purposefully crash the market by selling all of your chlorine, then buy it back for cheaper, find a new station and just repeat.
@@mikeryder9982 yeah i just tried it now and as long as the station terminal has chlorine in it before you are about to sell, it works fine, just dont sell it to the same station twice.

Holy shit you guys are cringy.
All these new sayings are totally wizard!
I did the cobalt method and so far it has worked for me. Now sitting at an outstanding 101 million.
Finally I can upgrade my A class to a S class (50,000 nanites)
You are a great asset to our community, Jason! Keep up the good work man.
I learn a lot watching your videos. Not just how to get cool ships and multi-tools, but how to do "normal" stuff in the game. Like using hot keys S and W to take quantity of anything you have selected up and down. I didn't even know we could do that till this morning man! LOL! What a *DOH!* revelation THAT was!
😱😨😵😁
Easiest way to make money:
I just go AFK in the anomaly and either sell all the bs people dump on me, or sell the good stuff people give to me 😆. There is always a saint that’ll dump about 6-10 mill worth of items on you while your asleep.
One guy gave me 5 items that sold for 250 million. I was shocked. Didn't notice until I left.
Can't you just duplicate and dump items on randoms on creative mode?
I duplicate some items worth around 10-15mill each and dump them on randoms whenever I go to the anomaly.
I usually give Chlorine, lol.
if you ever need, i can help with some units. i have a stack of items (5) that'll sell for 250M. happy to give you a stack or two whenever!
Junk Email i would love that
I now start with a base, teleporter and two mid refiners.
They patched that out in the Origins update. He explains that in the video.
@@mikeryder9982 I was doing it like 2 days ago. Still works.
@@mikeryder9982 yeah i just tried it now and as long as the station terminal has chlorine in it before you are about to sell, it works fine, just dont sell it to the same station twice.
Am I the only one without a large refiner?
I already knew about these methods, but you included some tips which are a big help to me, so thank you Jason.
Me at some point looking at his units: 618M. "Damn thats a lot". But then, when it comes back, I see I forgot the "3" in front of that and I just went 🤯
its doable ive made nearly 10 million today alone obv ive spent some on upgrades and shit but I make my money from dog fighting those huge ships near the space station not every star system has them but if they do start wars with them, those huge ships have loads of resources then once im done fighting I cash the money in at the space center, this method looks cool though.
@@ryanwilliams4223 that’s incredibly inefficient. With an activated indium farm I make 100m an hour without even being online
@@nebzla I figured out that other trick now by making more Chlorine in an large refiner made 50 million in a day or so,any idea how to power up a base properly im in the middle of building one but struggling to find the right power source, the Carbon based fuel battery runs out after an hour or so but that is amazing how much you make well done.
@@ryanwilliams4223 thats still way slower than you can get it
Congrats on 100k btw! And great video
I messed up yesterday, I was going to install a suspicious hyperdrive module and accidentally destroyed it, it was a 276 light-year one. The highest S class I have installed is 250 light-year and for me, they aren't always easy to find. So now I am on the hunt for more.
I feel ur pain, I meant to destroy a crappy x class scanner upgrade which gave like +1000% on fauna but instead destroyed an s class upgrade which gave +9000 and +7000
Reload previous save?
@@hydrationrequirement9762 I had bought it from a ship that landed on the planet and destroyed it between then and going to the station. Even if I would have reloaded the save I would have had to travel by foot quite a distance like I did and hope for the encounter to happen again. Has anyone noticed that Hexite can no longer be refined into nanites, it only refines into gold now?
I got around 50,000 nanites doing this last night. No one in the space station sold pugneum so, I ended up at one of my bases in Calypso and found plenty there. It took me longer because I spent a lot of time messing with the ship's coming in. I did end up scrapping around 10 S class ships and got 19 storage augmentations and a whole bunch of S class upgrades. The space station in Calypso seemed to have quite a few S class ships also.
I love that this is totally legit
Just downloaded the game the other day still have very little idea of what I'm doing but this video helped me out a ton
Im addicted to just digging up the bones on planets
"This belongs in a museum!!"
hate me if im not politicall uhhfended how do you do that
@@cactuscraze4877 some planets have ancient bones listed on the planets details thingy
Very very lucrative.
@@cactuscraze4877 If you haven't been to any systems that have planets with Ancient Bones yet, take a look at the Nexus missions for one that requests you to unearth Ancient Bones. If I sell all of my chlorine and crash the market, can I buy it back for a heavily discounted price and go to another station and crash their economy? I just started the game a few hours ago so can anyone help me?
Don’t crash the economy on purpose sell to people from ships
@@drewnally1911 what happens when the marketplace is crashed?
Rebuying for much less everything you sold... then save and reload. That would be like free money extremely fast. Not sure it is possible. I do not have that amount of materials yet since I started to try this game only a few days ago.
@@petersvancarek once the economy crashes you sell very low and you have to wait 3 hours in the game you can’t pause or anything for the economy to come back it’s not easy money
@@drewnally1911 I thought that if you sell bulk of material then the whole bulk is for the high price. And the market price crashes only after that...
@@petersvancarek I mean If you sell a lot it will sell high but after you sell a lot of the same item it will sell very low it’s not worth it just sell to ships
Part with Scrap Dealer is out of date, as you cannot use Pugneum to buy those upgrades anymore. Now you need to get Tainted Metal which you can obtain from Derelict Freighters :)
Found out that you can earn lots of money when you dig out sentinel items from the ground. Earned a mill from two items I dug out.
Bones work the same way
Doesnt compare to a passive activated indium farm pumping out 50 million an hour
Before you do this, teleport to stations and grab as many "kill sentinels" missions as you can. Corrupted sentinels do count for these missions, so you'll gain reputation and nanites on top of the money from the artifacts.
I really need the cash and there have been one moment where I actually encountered a S rank starship who only cost 3 mill but it was a fighter, but I was short on 1,5 or something.
Also need a new Multitool as every tool I have found on planets cost 15
@@natsu2010 I play on ps4 and survival. I can give you some good stuff if you want
A fast way to get nanites too is to scrap ships. B and A, S of course too. Sell the parts in same way here.
You get the occasional ship upgrade too.
My black market guy wants "tainted metal" instead of Pugnium.
Im guessing Hello Games caught wind of this :c
yeah you now need to purchase cords from him for 5 mil and then go to the infected freighter and complete the mission. tainted metal is some of the loot you get
You could make even more nanites if you find a first wave exotic ship and scrap the ship and sell the upgrades and do that at the same time
Does it still work in December?
Edit: it does
Hi Jason Plays!!
I wanted to share a method I’m using to get nanites - duplicate tainted metal
9999 refined into 4095 Nanites. Easy and if you get a big refinery farm set up you could get tens of thousand every hour
"infinite" as long as you can come up with a constant source of Oxygen which isn't free.
Not free, but stupidly cheap.
umm you realise you can mine it right?
Kaleb Omalveney that too, but it’s a waste of time to mine after a certain point, unless it’s some extremely valuable materials.
Slender Man 186 Oxygen harvester. This whole method he’s shown is quite literally free
Slender Man 186 I just wanna get to that point haha
Just started the game, still looking for Artemis
Congrats on 100k!
Fun fact all money and nanites earned are infinite, there’s no finite amount.
Finally a straight forward and really well explained guide. Subscribed.
well, only question left, where to get those huge amounts of oxygen to duplicate with :P
Farming, every planet has a farm point for oxygen or just buy loads of oxygen as you'll make loads of units with this method 👍
Saved me a ton of time. Thanks man, you sir have a subscriber!
This needs to be updated, just wasted a few hours getting pugneum only to find out it no long accepts pugneum. It's now something called tainted metal?? Hate these updates
Two questions :
1. So, DON'T sell to market? Only to captains?
2. You can keep expanding over and over if you have enough oxygen? I've tripled mine and haven't sold yet because it just gets more and more haha.
I’m sad that Hello nerfed market crashing ☹️
How? I didn't notice, I'm still making 100 million every 10 minutes.
Same!
It said so in rhe patch notes if its not in place now expect one
I read the patch notes while updating, ran to station and crashed economy, hopped systems and kept doing it 😂
Its just harder to do, you need more items. But it still works :)
Amazing video thank you 😁 such a big help having units and nanites now 😁
Almost first!!
So close!
NEW SUB ! HERE BEFORE A MILLION
I have an over abundance of ammo so I just go murder sentinels for pugneum. Effective and fun 🤘
It's tons of fun. I usually go to this one system with an abandoned space station and fire at the station. Those spacecraft fighter sentinels give pugneum too!😀
@@clintonseaman4882 dude that's genius
@@Sticky6Ft when it gets too much, or I tire of it, I simply fly into the station and my "wanted " level is gone. Count how much pugneum I got, then go out and do some more.

It's funny how people are just now catching on to the chlorine expansion thing. It's so much better than using Cobalt aka the poor man's way of making money
I did it with cobalt. Going well so far
I've have a chlorine farm sitting around for a while now but I've preferred my activated indium mine but since they nerfed it I might have to look and see if the chlorine is more worth it now
Shush! Me and my cobalt are happily traveling to each system to exploit their economies without repercussions >:(
Passive farms are still better
