The song I’m playing is THE SUMMONING not the offering my bad 😅
We still love you. ❤😮❤
Same difference
Both go hard tho
I was watching if first time and was like hold up one second 🤨
luv u bro
Keep chugging
Not good enough Andrew you have to remake the whole video 😂😂😂😂 I would love to hear the comparison with the Strasberg Boden 8
Always a pleasure working on Andrew's guitars!
If you want to see a full breakdown of the guitar and what it's like to work on it and live with it, you can find that video on my channel!
Thanks for setting it up!
ahh yes, the new song, the offering off of the album take me back to eden (2019)
Fuck haha oops
They need to make a fanfret 7 string majesty with a hardtail. That would just be 🥵🥵🤤🤤
That’s dope man. I was hoping that you got to keep it. Congrats on all your success as you seem like a genuinely nice person. You deserve it!
I'm surprised you liked the pickups so much. DiMarzio definitely needs to expand their 8 string market and I think this would be a great first step, last I checked half their 8 string pickups were the sigs of Tosin and Javier of AaL (who have long since jumped ship to Fishman)
Music Man should start making multiscale basses as well. They would be too good to pass up on
I'm not even a bassist and I would be that instantly!
Ibanez has one called SRC6MS
@@Return2TheLiving It's a baritone guitar, not a bass. Multiscala basses are usually called SRMS, but there's also the EHB MS series
@@vinlandband Agreed! Even though i think they should redesign the music man bongo's shape, just a little bit
@@steffomca762 it has bass pickups, it has bass tuners, a bass preamp. It is tuned the same octave as a bass. Sure is it really used like a bass? Usually not but on ibanez site it’s literally in the bass section.
Checked one out in person. They are super amazing
Those cleans are absolutely heavenly
omg one of my dream 8 strings/dream guitars in general nice review man
Thanks for showing me how to play The Summ-I mean The Offering
That guitar, Jason Becker's Numbers guitar and an Abasi custom (maybe telecaster style) are my dream guitars. 🤘🏾
Nice lil Buc-ees shirt there Boi! Hopefully you Carcosa Canucks enjoyed your time in Texas 😉
Yall we're badass! Definitely get back down south
And that 8 stringer though...😵
Good for you dude!
Good god this is gorgeous
After the burial hoodie tho 🌝🔥🔥🔥🤜🏽
Not 100% sure... but I think the demo song is "The Summoning" not the offering? Correct me if I'm wrong?
I really like this guitar and would get one, if they did it with a straight scale 27" with a hipshot or a tone pros TOM bridge, the bridge is really throwing me off liking this one but must be so cool to own!
Not surprised that Sweetwater proved, once again, that they are the best people.
That's one massive guitar! Love to owned one.
Loved the majesty! Had a 7 for awhile and these things have MOJO. Also owned a couple JPs but the majesty was the better guitar. Especially for leads.
However I recently bought my wife a Honey Fusion Strandy & it’s the best guitar I’ve ever played. Which is funny because a lot of people said to be wary of Strandbergs considering where they are crafted. I think it all comes down to mojo and what’s right for you. A lot of the backlash almost swayed me towards other brands. So glad I didn’t as I have wrist issues and am in a unique situation being a drummer/guitarist.
Super interested to hear your take on the strandberg! I am primarily a drummer now and play my guitar behind my set, so the lighter/smaller guitar helps a ton. Need one of my own instead of stealing hers! 😂
Normally not a fan of Music Man, but gotta admit it sounds amazing. Incredibly clean/clear for an 8 string as well.
Many of their models sound really clear and crisp :) I had the more affordable Sterling Music Man Petrucci model and it was kickass. So easy to play and great tones!
I think you meant D#1 . That guitar is gorgeous
Eb if you’re logical.
26.5"-28" scale would've been sweet, and back of neck in satin like you suggested. I'd be sold
Dude it seems like every time I try to find "my perfect instrument" there's always at least 1 or 2 specs which turn me off. Completely agree about the scale and neck finish.
Sweetwater are the real homies 🤘
Thanks baena! I'm proud to be a supporter
its funny cuz I love gloss necks im weird but honestly as long as the guitar plays good then its a keeper :)
This is my next goal for guitars 💙🛡️
I just love watching the strings worm back and forth😩🤣
This thing is nuts.
Ooo please review the strandberg as well!!!!
Definitely, working on the Schecter and then that one is up next
I have the 7 string model in that color. it fucking shreds.
I actually don’t usually like music man guitars but that thing looks sick.
One day I’ll own one of this guitars 🎸
In your opinion Andrew, how's the tension on the 8th string and what gauge are you using? I keep my Boden Original 8 in half step down tuning and sometimes drop the 8 down to D#. It's 28 inch on the low string though and I use a 75. Sometimes I think I struggle getting good definition from it, but I frequently blame that on the Fishman moderns.
I think it is perfectly fine but I am much less picky than most people seem to be about tension
I play a 28" Schecter, with a .095 on the lowest string, tuned down to D. Perfect IMO.
I play in double drop D with .95 on a 30inch and I also like this but .75 seems crazy slack.
Pee-Ay-Zo is the correct pronounciation. You did it correctly.
Holllly shit nice ❤❤ I have a few music man strongest basses i love them. I play guitar now but I'm actually good at bass 😂😂vans I find they're so roomy on the fretboard and silky smooth. The notes have a dark caidence to them Its beautiful.
A JUGGERNAUT RIFF HELL YEAH
In my opinion: No. While guitar prices have gone up a lot over the last few years, 4200 is still well past the point of diminishing returns in my opinion.
If you are a JP fan or just love the look, go for it, but the extra cost isn't doing anything for sound and playability.
I would say 4 years ago, that break point was around 1500 USD. Now it's probably closer to 2500. Freaking inflation :D
Edit: those pickups sound a bit shrill. Maybe it's the preset/tone you are playing through, but it sounds like the stock pickup in my $800 Schecter Omen Elite 8.
The Josh Smith Northlane signature is ungodly expensive. Its a pro series jackson costing like 2,700! Thats insanity.
There's a giant difference in quality and playability between handmade, american made guitars vs mass produced import guitars. while my prestige ibanez and E--II M-II play great, they don't hold a candle to my majestys
@@nathanielcava5860 Agree completely. I think a lot of the cost is in the BKP pickups and evertune bridge. But if you removed those things they'd still be trying to charge 2k, which feels bad on a pro series for sure.
@@misterringer i agree too those features add to the price but it’s disheartening when you see other brands like Schecter or Ltd adding premium specs and Evertunes and still keeping price obtainable while Jackson and other brands are cranking prices for nothing.
@@nathanielcava4128 yeah definitely.
Woof, that bridge 😬🤨
Sweet ass guitar man, and I would play that in an instant, but I have to agree with some of the sentiment that those pups are mad shrill. IDK if there was a little string buzz on your low drop E that was kind of not helping the sound out also. But that's all subjective anyway, beautiful guitar anyway and you could EQ some of the frequencies differently if wanted.
Everyone has different preferences haha idk what else to say! Here I am thinking this was one of my better sounding mixes so to each their own I guess
@Andrew Baena your absolutely right my man, it's all a matter of preference
I just yoinked both off itunes😂
Yo! I see Buc-Ee’s Texas reppin!
Ok now get a green one ;)
I guess the next question would be if we are getting a NX8 review next?
Soon!
"i'm going to play a song called The Offering by Sleep Token" Proceeds to play the Summoning. Greath vid though lol
when your backup guitar is worth more than your entire setup and main guitar
I’ll take the Pepsi challenge w my Legator 😁 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I mean... am I the only one who thought the distortion tone did NOT sound good at all? And the fret buzz/clank during the cleans was just something that, to me, has no business being on a $4200 guitar. I keep reading comments, and don't see anyone else addressing that, so... IDK.
Ooof… those fingers
It's nice but considering the price differences I'm shocked that I think the Tao-8 sounded better.
Has eight strings pro proceeds to play only one
🥶
I’m smitten like a kitten that’s owned by Jason witten, that’s a beautiful guitar
That thing is beautiful. I wish I could get one, but I’m not a UA-camr or rich lmao
I mean the ibanez m8m is 6k.
Granted the japan bolt-on version is like 1500.
Gonna keep it a stack you could have done so much better with the distorted rhythm tone choice. That petrucci sim can sound so much sicker.
Gloss neck is a pass. I like satin necks where the oil from my hands get soaked into the wood. Feels so much better
No hate, and maybe it's just the mix, but I honestly can't enjoy the sound of those pickups...
Sounds ok with the solos, but way harsh in lower register.
But, just my opinion.
One of my college teachers owns this exact same guitar and I tried it, best 8 string I've ever touched and the most fun one to play leads on by far.
It made me wanna get a Majesty myself, maybe a 6 string for a change, but I can only afford the Sterlings and the hardware on these is not good :(
Just don’t feed yourself for about a month and you’ll be good
The sterlings are still really nice. I have a 7 string and I got my brother a 6 string one
@@LakeErieBoater I had a 7 string JP15 from Sterling, the build quality itself was great but the hardware was really not good
does anyone any recommendations for cheap Floyd rose 7 strings?
ibanez and schecter have some
but i wouldnt recommend any under 800$
they usually have floyd rose special and they are a pain in the ass
buy one which has atleast the 1000 series
or u could look for jp70 or jp157 they dont have floyd rose but its a floating tremolo system and a good one at that
do they even ship to Canada
Ye
If you distort the tone, this guitar sounds like any other.
We go CHUG CHUG
Should try out a Kaizen 🤔🤔
Would love to haha, maybe one day
Never going to buy it, but boy does it seem nice.
"Pee-eights-oh"
Man come on dude, Ernie Ball a string company and they charging more then a Gibson for a CNC made guitar. Man NO!
Kinda looks like Rob Scallon's Schecter
It’s badass of course…but would hate trying to resell it…cause that thing will probably set for a year trying to get back even half of that price. I’ve sold 100 guitars easily over the years and it’s always taken that ONE special dude to buy an 8 string. They are a bitch to sell at least in my experience. I’ve been playing 8’s since 2007 or so
You pronounced it right. It's not pie-zoh (as in pie that you eat), it's pee-ey-zow.
That tone sounds like an empty coffee can
i been stiff for ernie ball music man guitars for years, i might have to save some money for it. now how to convince the wife...Also whats this drop D# zero tuning you speak of ?
It’s just a half step lower than Drop E
Should I jokingly ask them for one?
Good god, all I hear on that rythm tone is high mids
Piezo sounds incredible but it was also kind of stabbing my ears
Awesome guitar, but 4200? You would never catch me dropping that much on something that isn't a one-off custom build from a company that isn't Aviator, or similarly high end. If we dropping used 1990's - earlier 2000's car money, we damn well making sure we do it on something nobody else got.
Also dem pick-ups were.....very thin...if that's a good way of talking about em.
Sounds sick but I've always thought the high end majesty's were ugly af
I don’t think you have to be a scientist to know how to pronounce an Italian word. 😂
$4000+ for a sticky/glossy neck. No thanks.
Thought I was the only one who doesn’t like gloss necks
Прости, не кажется, что немного глухо звучит? Не ярко. Или это при миксе такое?
Да, Андрюха чёт басов не завез... Однако я не понимаю, зачем комментить на русском (как и на любом другом языке, кроме английского)?
@@VasKurtas Yes Andrew, you may be right. But if the author is interested, he will translate it into his own language just like I do.
@@VasKurtas а тебе то не кажется, что очень в кашу всё... Вроде бы гитара ЗБС...
So it sounds like any decent 8 string like 7 times cheaper lol
Too expensive for me lol
Sleep Token songs put me to sleep
At a certain price point a guitar does not get any better. 4200 is insane. Any $1500 guitar or even less is comparable to this. If this was like the Strandberg Boss I would somewhat understand because of all the technology put in and proprietary software for all the features. The Piezo is not enough to justify a $4200 price point. Kiesel will throw a Piezo in your guitar for $250.
I agree, its a good guitar but definitely not good enough to justify the price
It's unfortunate how out of reach Musicman guitars are now. JP6s used to cost under 1k new......now they are over 3k. Just a bummer your average musician can't get one now.
for that price you might as well order a custom guitar...
Andrew Baena Sleep Token Guitarist Confirmed
Ive literally never seen a guitar worth anywhere near that, doesn’t matter where it’s made, most guitars on the market from major brands are overpriced which is why Harley Benton and other companies building guitars at reasonable prices are growing so fast. Putting an artist name on something doesn’t make it more valuable except for people that are dumb enough to pay it
So your are IVI? haha
Andrew I love you but the mix of the playthrough was impossible to listen to
Totally agree, It doesn't advertise the guitar whatsoever. And the thing that bothers me is that I'm sure you can make it sound better
I’m here from tik tok
ah yes my favourite Sleep token "the offering" off this place will be your tomb (2019)
Save for the the Djent/NeoMetal part the guitar sounds really bad. Very thin and shrill and cold and sterile. The pickups coil split and piezo are really not good ideas (and saying the later make the guitar sound like an acoustic one is ridiculous and...simply false !) on this guitar.
Probably the reverb and delay didn't help for the clean sound (too much of both).
Too much gain for the rest. Classic symptom: The bass notes emerged from a puddle of mud in wich a full swarm of bees is trapped, each one trying to forcefully get out.
I watch another vid (a green stromberg 8..), the bee soup in mud was even worse, bass notes didn't like high gain.
I like the Majesty and all the new series (relatively) in MM line up. Nowadays very few big name brands try new designs for high end models .
Sorry for the arshness. I like your vids , the talk and the guitar chops...
I mean.. it's pretty cool but definitely not worth 4,200. That's way too much imo.
That’s probably my guitar. I ordered one of these from sweetwater and send it back for a number of reasons. I don’t know what they do to this thing, but it’s a terrible fingerprint/dust magnet, and I couldn’t get the pickups EQ’d properly. Now it DID play really well, but that’s about it.
The Summoning and it’s in D#1, not D#0 lol
wiggly strings
In my own personal opinion... Gosh it looks so lame lol
oh man sweetwater could pay a homeless person to make your mix sound better hahahahahah that does not sell the guitar at all
Ужас. Такая крутая гитара такое говно на ней играешь.в барабаны не попал,звук ужасный.....
