I Bought the Cheapest 3" Stainless Exhaust for My 940 Wagon Because I Totaled my Audi

- I had a car accident with my Audi and had to find a quick solution to get a replacement vehicle. I decided to use my Volvo 945 instead, even though it was not part of my initial plan. But this move allowed me to save money and prioritize the 740 project.
To drive the 945, I had to pass an inspection, which included testing for emissions. Unfortunately, the car failed the emissions test due to issues with the catalytic converter. I decided to use the money I received from the insurance to buy a new stainless steel exhaust, which was not the cheapest option but a better investment in the long run. I opted for a 3" system as it would be needed to reach my goal of 300hp.
I am happy to say that the 945 has passed the inspection without any issues and is back on the road. Now, I can finally focus on the 740 project.

When welds are performed on stainless with no filler they will typically exhibit a mild amount of magnetism, even when filler is used the austenite can transform into ferrite with enough heat.
Thank you for that input! Always nice to learn something new 👍 I will be sure to update on how the exhaust holds up over time.
The fitment of the exhaust looks great. I have been keeping my eyes on a bunch of stuff from KL Racing. For me the shipping to the US might be too much.
Yeah Im surprised it was priced so good, its definitely on the low-budget scale but for a daily/second car I would recommend it. Martelius has some nice exhausts on the bit more premium side, i think they might send to the Us but not sure. Maybe you can contact KL-racing and se it they can provide shipping via boat, usually gets the price down if you are willing to wait a month or two.
Good idea, I have looked at bunch of stuff so might make a bigger purchase and ship by boat. Really enjoy the channel. Looking at a T5 swap in the future also.@@BackmansGarage
Im sad cause i was really looking forward to more B5 content. Glad you didnt get injured though.
Yeah it really sucks. Wouldn't mind an S4 or something in the future tho 😀
I already wanted to buy this exhaust, well the one with two dampers because police and mot suck here in switzerland, but now i am really convinced. It seems reasonably quiet and looks as if it could flow a tremendous amount more than the stock system.
Really like your videos, keep it up👍🏻
Still happy with it 👍
I'm in the market for a 240 right now and your videos are getting me seriously excited!
Just do it! There is no car I miss more than my old 240 GLT 😃

So far, I'm pleased with both sound and fitment 👍
