Did I mention that Keith Merrow & Jeff Loomis are coming to Andertons in March for a special Schecter video session? I didn't?!? Well stay tuned....
stayed tuned lol
Awesome! Cant wait to see that video. Their signature models look awesome.
*Head explodes
uhhh Lee the pickups on the Hellraiser C-1 are EMG 81/89 pickups
They even do a decent range of left handed guitars. Pretty impressive.
+BinarySecond Friggin 9 String Lefthand ;D
Is that an inflatable rubber woman at 7:45? Now I've got some questions to ask Mr. Anderton!
Schecter dosent only make metal guitars, my Solo 6 Custom is an amazing guitar.
I love the satin necks Schecter does with the Blackjacks :)
Your dark souls 3 cover is killer
The coolest music store in the UK with my favourite US guitars. Schecters.
Cheers Ross - nice comment!!
The Hellraiser is such a beautiful guitar.
I love your new style of editing. Adding fun sounds and short sketches here and there along with the usual professionalism. You guys are the best at doing this!
Schecters are what made me pick up a guitar in the first place, gorgeous beasties.
fact is, schecter is making the best guitars in the industry right now and theyre affordable as well.
I agree they are some of the best bang-for-your-buck guitars around.
I have yet to even pick up a Schecter I haven't loved, even the ones as low as the $300 range. Conversely, I've owned Ibanez guitars that I've loathed, for instance. This video is so perfect. Schecter + JVM = madness
I couldn't believe when I saw the hell raiser in the store. This guitar is a piece of artwork. Build quality is outstanding! I have many really good guitars, les-paul, tele, Strats..all American and the schector is the nicest looking by miles and plays even better . IMHO the nicest looking guitar I've ever seen. Floyd roseetcc...
@@shaunmcinnis1960 Ikr, just saw one for 499 used at GC and it was godly with the thrash that I play
Thats an amazing deal! I think we will look back one day "as usual", and say it was one of the best guitars ever made. Keep rockin!
Chappers, Captain, you're videos are both entertaining and informative! I've been watching you guys since before I got my first guitar, 5 years ago. Thanks for all of these amazing videos, seriously.
With Schecter Guitars, you're getting a fuck ton of value for your money, I'm gonna be buying a Banshee Elite 6 in a month or so and i couldn't be more excited #teamschecter
do you think the omen 6 is a good guitar for metal? im planning on leaving it stock
freddie garcia i wouldnt know, i dont have one. But ive heard good things online so its all up to you dude
+freddie garcia Dunno if you've played it yet. i personally like the omen series for the price. doesnt use emg but the stock pickups are nice. Dont expect absolute high quality but its a good axe for the money
I am so excited to see what reviews you guys will do for some more schecters. I LOVE SCHECTER!!!! And Rob's guitars are beautiful for anything.
I have 3 Schecters. The most recent buy was the tempest custom. Great guitars and very reasonably priced.
I have 12 or 13 Schecters from the space of a good few years - they get even better with age also :D
I own the Custom S, and it has one of those glossy-ass necks. I must admit, after having used it for a year, I can't play anything that isn't glossy. I love it so!
Love the new opening! (also.. awesome bit about Schecter!)
One of the best Andertons videos you've done for ages Rob, or maybe I was just thankful it wasn't another Gibson.
So glad you guys are stocking Schecter guitars now. I've owned mine for a few years and it's the most reliable guitar i own. Sounds great no matter what i'm playing through.
Great video, I've played Schecter guitars for years, nice to see them getting much respect. Cheers!
About time you guys stocked them! You UK guys have been missing out on some amazing guitars. They're by far my favorite brand.
Urm... you know there's more than 1 guitar shop in the UK right?
aliensliveinme Yes, i am aware. I'm talking specifically about the area andertons is located in
SteveOTheMan16 But Guitarguitar Epsom is less than 20 miles away and has carried Schecter guitars since it opened a couple of years ago.
It is really, really refreshing to see demos of non-Gibson guitars on this channel. I'd love to see Rob and Anderton's continue in diversifying the subject matter that they profile here. Nice vid guys!
If I end up in the UK, i'm going to try and stop by Andertons, you guys are awesome. Seems like you just have so much fun making these videos!
Could watch these videos all day guys. The captain and chappers are the dream team!
I saw a Sports Direct mug near Rob. He better be careful as to not spill it or else Andertons will flood!
Chaps! For all your tom foolery and of course outright unbiased views, you still make some of the best music review vods on the Tube. So convinced am I of your sincerity that I took delivery of my very own Chapman ML-1 this week - love it -
Really impressed with Schecter guitars. I've played quite a few and they were all fantastic (especially the SLS series). Schecter is one of the best companies for actually taking seriously the feedback and wants of their customer base.
Would love to see some passive Banshee videos! :-)
*Why does no one ever talk about how much a damn guitar weighs? It's never part of the specs. It's never part of a demo. Is it SG light? Is it LP heavy? Does it have neck dive? How many swings before it breaks a cat? What thickness of wall would you rate it for?*
I know, that ticks me off too. I had to let a 90s Jackson Kelly go because was just too heavy and fatiguing that I spent more time looking at it than playing it. That thing was much heavier than the new weight relieved Les Pauls and more like the Originals.
THe only thing I've been to find is on forums when people were asked to weigh them. I know i won't be buying a Schecter Mahogany unless its the SLS which is much thinner and a lot nicer
Wrathorn I'm going tomorrow to try out either a PRS Santana SE or a PRS Custom 22 Semi-Hollow. If I can handle the weight of the Santana I'll go with it because I do a fair bit of trem work, but if it's too heavy I'll be going to the semi-hollow to shave that extra pound. Three days of internet research and I have no clue what either of them weighs. Hell, I might not be able to pick up either one. Good luck with your next pick, Wrath.
alright man, keep me updated :)
***** I'm pretty dead set on a new PRS SE Custom 22 Semi-Hollow (the quilt top with no pickguard) at this point, but I will check out a Synyster Gates before I buy. Thanks for the tip!
***** Duly noted, good sir! :)
I've had the C-1 Classic for over 5 years and it still remains to be my main and most versatile guitar. Honestly once you get used to it, glossy necks are no big deal to play and is easier to clean. Schecter's high end models play like $2000+ guitars for half the price and even if you take a lower end model and swap the pickups you will end up with a really nice player.
I have a Schecter since 5 years ago, its my main guitar, its a guitar worth stayinh with you all your life, they are really really well made, good selected wood, great selection of components. Cannot sy good enough things about all my schecter guitars.
I remember Dave Schecter rewinding Strat pickups in a little tiny shop on Grant Rd in the very early seventies. Eventually starting his own pickup up line.. very cool, thanks guys.
These are such great guitars. I just played the new C-1 FR with an Invader bridge pickup and a Sustainiac, factory stock! It was more fun than a person should be allowed to have. The possibilities are just endless. My favorite mode is where you hold the note and it will automatically raise to a natural 5th. It sounds so rock/metal! Satin finish, Celtic cross inlays, real Floyd Rose, jumbo frets. Awesome!
You can definitely tell a huge difference between the Hellraiser and Damien, a rarity for Anderton demos (but I still love and watch them regularly). Very good job!
So glad the Captain inserted his golden shaft! Fizzamaloo, wingle-wanger!
Love my Schecter Hellraiser C1! It's one bad ass guitar. I love it! Best guitar I've played to date. Schecter's rock!!!
me too. Except I think that the higher part of the neck is WAY too small and crowded. CAnt play anything up there. Pissing me off. you know G E A D F C ec.....
Great editing in this one.
I've finally been waiting for you guys to take a look at the synyster gates custom! I have one myself
I just got the c-1 platinum and I'm very pleased it's a beast
I have a blackjack SLS. It serves as my drop tune metal guitar. Although it is very versatile, metal is definitely one of its strengths. Reasonably priced and one of the most comfortable guitars I've ever played!
SWEEET!!!! Ive been looking for ages trying to find a U.K dealer for Schecter and this has made my day. Ive been playing an Omen FR Extreme for almost a year and it has kept me quite happy each time i play it :D might go a Demon for the more heavier tones :)
gonna buy a new guitar soon, Schecter is one of the choices ! perfect timing for this video
Was in andertons a couple of days ago, travelled down from manchester to visit them, played so many guitars! , Ended up buying the FINAL Chinese ML2, what a guitar it is , (amazed)
Just ordered one of the last gold/white synyster gates standard. I'm super psyched to get it :D Thanks Andertons!
I have the Hellraiser and the Banshee love them both!! AWESOME playing guitars. Looking to get the Blackjack sustainiac soon.
For me Schecter is the best. I have the 2 of them, Schecter C-1 Classic from like 06 or something like that, and a Schecter Synyster Gates Guitar(White and Gold 2011 edition). I might sell it and get the black and gold, i like the color better haha. and I so i can just get the one with the sustaniac.
I absolutely love my Schecter Hellraiser special. I am a big fan of them.
Longer videos , please :3
You guys are great !
Even though you guys seemed to not care for these guitars much I'm glad you made the video. My first guitar was a 2004 Schecter C-1+ with the flame top and a hard tale. Although it came with Duncan Designed Pickups, I swapped in some American Duncans a couple years back and it's a fantastic versatile guitar due to the coil splits as well. Finding a passive humbucker loaded Schecter is all too hard these days :(
love my kenny hickey schecter c-1 ex s and the sustainiac pu sound is killer 💚🖤💚
Great job as always. I would like to see, however more bass related videos. I'm primarily a bass player, and there's definitely room out there for more quality demonstrations.
Love the new cam :D
That was a great video. Would be cool if you'd do another on a few more models.
I've ordered the Damien platinum FR S so exited to have it
Recently bought a Demon-7 and I fucking adore it. I don't really play seven strings but I got used to it faster than I thought. I'm thinking about putting a Seymour Duncan Nazgul and Sentient in it.
Do you guys (the captain and chappers) own andertons? Great videos, very informative. You guys leave no stone unturned when reviewing the gear. I now look for a video from you guys before I buy any piece of equipment. Keep it up fellas!
I stumbled upon a Schecter PT-7 Garza and it blows me away how good it is!
About time! I was wondering when andertons would pick up some schecters!
Glad to see that you are selling Schecs too now, that's great news! Also, weird enough, though Schecter actually makes very "metal" looking guitars, sometimes more metal than ESP itself, you can really say Schecter catalog covers more genres than ESP one, with the retro series in particular.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do an Sound like Mark Knopfler for under £1000! That would be awesome!
i love schecter! i have the blackjack sls c-1 fr model, and i recently installed a pair of seymour duncan invaders in it and it sounds amazing! it's the best guitar i've ever had!
That syn custom tho. A7X for life
Kyle Kwartel same
4 Life!
even pee wee vengeance is a badass.
Wish I could afford it lol
You guys should review Schecter amps too, and nice video as always
ESP is pretty metal...
Esp doesent really make extende range tho
I completely agree with Chappers. The Hellraiser is ruined by the gloss neck.
In these cases fine grit sandpaper and masking tape will do wonders, it turns any gloss neck into a satin backed shred machine.
My fist guitar was a Schecter Diamond Series Oman 6. Got it back in '02 - best $400 I've ever spent. I'm a PRS guy now but I still use it and I'm glad I never sold it.
Great vid, love the new intro! When are you guys gonna review the washburn paralaxe guitars?!?!
I'm glad you guys talked about that "sticky neck". I was already worried about it and this helped me make a choice between the Schecter Hellraiser and the Schecter Damien. I'm going for the Damien, because that neck is just wood only. Later on I'm just gonna put in some Bareknuckle Juggernauts or Aftermath pickups
Good idea, those emg-hz are not so good I've heard, gotta test them myself.
Wojteo I have a schecter damien with the emg-hz pickups, and while they are ok for the low end chunk, the sound is just flat, plus the cleans SUCK. Definitely switch out the pickups man.
Alex Wright Yeah I agree! The EMG's in my Damien Elite 7 sound pretty decent and with the right settings on my amp.. they almost sound pretty good! But it's nothing compared to some Bareknuckle pickups!
Schecter used to do high end custom guitars for big names, Pete Townshend played one for a while in the late 70s. I think they specialised in Tele platform specials for a while.
My brand of Schitt guitars don't sell too well :)
that is funny
What do you mean by that?
Nathan Bell Did you watch the video? And listen to it?
DKGCustom
Yes, I did, but I wasn't sure if you were implying that Schecter are ESP's 'Schitty' alternative or if you were getting at something else.
Your comment is relatively ambiguous.
They were saying how anything starting with 'Sch' were cool!
Schweppes is so fucking metal.
So is Norway.
I drink Schweppes everyday. and everytime i open the case death metal just starts playing out of nowhere
Schecters are HANDS DOWN the absolute best guitars I have had 3 throughout my guitar journey and all have an amazing sound
I've played so many different guitar brands and I always go back to schecter. They're so elite and even the beginner models are the best for the buck. They're set up beautifully and designed to be comfortable and down right amazing. They say metal? I say they're good guitars for all.
i love schecter i have the demon 6 fr for about 2 weeks now and i love it
I would love to see a video on some of the Schecter Retro models, especially the tele-esque, 335-esque, and les paul junior-esque guitars.
excellent choice getting schecter
I've got the Schecter PT, it's awesome!
there is absolutely a point in doing a clean test on the Syn Custom, it's got passive pickups and they do clean tones all the time
I love Schecters, I've got four and I'm looking into getting another one. I think they're more than just a metal guitar and they're cheaper than a fair amount of other brands out there.
YES! Schecter. The left handed musicians friend!
You forgot to check the knobs of the Hellraiser. I think those are EMG 89's.
Humbuckers with an additional Singlecoil.
they sound great.
Best Chappers n Captain video ever!! :-)
The Blackjack is the best schecter series by far. The best schecter 7 string is the new Keith merrow sig.
Agreed Swamp Ash and it's beautiful!
I dunno about the blackjack being the best one, I have a 2008 satin finish Damien, and the thing is a beast! It sounds fantastic, looks sweet, and plays like pure butter, especially with the natural wood finish neck.
Alex Wright I'm kinda jealous about the Damien's oiled/satin finish neck. My Black jack SLS C7 is amazing and has a great painted satin finish, but it will probably turn into gloss on the back of the neck with sweat ._.
the Hellraisers have now expanded to pretty much encompass everything about the blackjack (the Hellraiser Hybrids) and also the regular ones now also have the option for passives. why you'd want them when the active ones are far more versatile than people like to let on and just have that little extra edge, but at this point it's definitely safe to say that the hellraisers are their best line. It's their flagship model after all.
Also while we're on Damiens, my Damien Elite I've had for almost 10 years is still my favorite guitar, incredibly underappreciated for a $500 buy. also have the 8 string version, wouldn't mind having the spare cash to change the pickups and wouldn't complain about another inch of scale length but definitely a great 8 string for its price as well. which is really schecter's best attribute, is their bang for buck. great quality for less than most any other brand I can think of
also Schecter has many vintage, retro, and blues/jazz oriented guitars. Their Corsairs are definitely things to look into if you want something like an ES335 but don't have/want $3k to spend
that volvo is beautiful
Just bought my hellraiser c-1 can’t wait
I think Schecter are great , I have a B2/ wit FR just $200 never goes out of tune , plays great
I got a diamond series with Seymour Seymour Duncan pick-ups in it and it is a very versatile guitar i love it
Nice blow up doll in the back. (Mentioned it right after I commented :P)
I have a Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6. It's a very nice looking guitar, and very nice.
im in love with the red demon
Schecter Has always been my personal favorite! :)
YEESSS FINALLY! schecter master race.
the les paul shaped blackjack SLS is my favorite. Stop end tail piece (No sustain killing strings foing WAY back down to the body) the neck has a semi gloss cover on the pack which makes it feel amazing. Good SD PASSIVE pick ups. The blackjack sls is the best schecter for under 1000 bucks I think.
Just switched from a Syn Custom to C-1 Platinum with EMG 81/85. Blows the Syn Gates model away!
What I would do for a Synyster Gates Custom S...
Save up money?
rekt
Give your soul to Satan
Update: I have a job and I am saving up!
Did you get it yet?
Amazing intro !!
I'd greatly appreciate if you review the schecter c-7 custom, the one that has the SD's jb/jazz set. Really cool and unique set of pickups in comparison to what shecter usually includes.
I always found Schecters to have superior quality for their price. I never understand the bad rep. Probably cause they often come horribly setup? Or they are pretty unoriginal designs? Maybe so but for the price you pay they are exceptional! P.S If you buy them used you literally can find them *often* near mint for 1/4 the retail price. Seriously they are such a huge bargain.
I really wanted a Synyster Schecter Custom before, which cost somewhere around US$1000, and I found one which was B stock for US$500. Absolutely amazing.
Yeah i want the solo 6 custom dark vintage which has a coil split and a ebony fretboard which usually appears like 950$ but this beauty goes for 700$!
+SRNF That has also been my experience.
I found a Demon 6 Fr (the guitar I was searching for for quiet a bit of time) for 150€ instead of 500€
fucking bargain
SRNF The Hellraisers are hated due to their muddy as hell sound, the only genre that’s good for the Hellraiser is Core.
That whammy stuff sounded just like a Raymond Scott tune from "Soothing Sounds for Baby" !
I would love to see you guys do a side by side comparison between Schecter and the PRS SE.
I have that rug in my living room!
I recently bought a Schecter Omen 6 in a really nice walnut satin finish online for just $349 and it's the best guitar I've ever owned! Very easy to play, nice smooth neck, great hardware and pickups. You just cannot beat it for the price. Btw, it went up $50 about a week after I bought it, so maybe they're realizing that they're maybe a little too generous lol.
