Always loved Schecter. My Demon 6 FR is turning 10 this year and its still beautiful (with a few dings here and there) and sounds wicked with the Duncan Designed pickups.
I got a Schector Diamond Elite 5 string Bass in a red finish because of your guitar. It has exceeded every expectation I had in a 5 string. The only problem is the Porshe paranoia of scratching that beautiful finish !!!!!!!

@@malcolmbliss777 Its a shame that they have tons of hate too. Believe it or not though, most of the hate is really just because of the image of those two companies. I was talking to this one Fender fanboy who said he hated Schecter cus it was too "edgy" and hated ESP because all their fans were teenage boys in metalcore or emo bands. Its a shame really because these companies are the best when it comes to less common body shapes (like the superstrat which is practically all Ibanez sells for example).
@@wingsoficarus1139 ESP is all I own. Oh, I have a few cheap imports I like (love my single cut gold top Vox with the P90/humbucker p/u switch: $220 used). But Fender is goofy. Lamps bolt together. Not guitars. And Gibson? I’m old enough to remember when u could get a 59 Gold Top out of the trading times for $300, back in 1980, when everyone wanted a Kramer. Check out a band called Pianosaurus, from the 80’s. They used instruments from Toy R Us, and every nite they’d smash their gear. Hilarious. And incredible musicians. Do u know what Strat Hendrix played? They only made one. The fact remains, its in the heart. Not in the instrument u play.

Schecters fucking rule , I've had the Synyster Gates custom S , Omen Extreme , Demon , C1 Deluxe , and the Damien. Their guitars are by far the best bang for the buck , better quality and more affordable than a crappy Gibson IMO!

Yeah I’ve liked schecter for a while now (probably about 2020 ish when I started playing guitar) and I’ve always heard good things. After watching this video, it is inevitable that I’m going to add a schecter to my collection, cheers Glenn
Best decision i made of 2022 was my Schecter E-1 SLS Elite Electric Guitar Black Fade Burst 1345-SHC. Seriously, most amazing guitar I have ever owned.

I have the very real feeling i'm going to love love love my new guitar when it arrives. Congrats to the folks at Schecter California; this example is a total home run.
I found this guitar used for 500$ on fb marketplace. It was sold super cheap because unknowingly to the owner the fishmans were wired incorrectly. A simple trip to the tech and its in brand new working condition and one of my favorite guitars that I own now. Definitely a bang for the buck 🤘
Sounds like standard Schecter Quality Control, because there is none. My Schecter Diamond is supposed to have a lifetime warranty.. it died in a year and Schecter refuses to do anything about it
Have a Happy New Year and successful 2023. I recently bought a Schecter E-1 FR S Special Edition and it's quickly become one of my favorite guitars. It's a great guitar and any guitar that makes you want to pick it up and play is an awesome guitar and the quality and features on the Schecter guitars is second to none.
I use to have a diamond series and a couple hell raisers that were pretty freakin sick. I have a 7 string PRS now that’s my daily player with Tremonti sig pickups in it. Schecter is in my opinion an inexpensive PRS the higher end schecters are on the same playing field. Thanx glen for sharing! That ax is bad ass..
I have to agree. I absolutely love my Schecter. It is a 2001 custom gold top "Tempest". I upgraded the pickups, and added coil splitters. I call it my "Battle Axe". It does everything I could ask for, and has for many years. A+!
I own a schecter V-1 Apocalypse and I absolutely love everything about it. Nice hot passive pickups and it’s really versatile with the coil splits. Also the damn thing looks super bad ass
I dug out my Apocalypse Avenger the other day, and it was still in tune after collecting dust for more than a month. In terms of usability, it's my favourite guitar. This is one guitar I will not be messing around with.
I’ve had my Schecter 5 string for almost 20 years and I’ve had to adjust the neck twice and it’s always in tune. Rock solid basses. I’ve had other basses with sexier names on the headstock, but I always come back to the Schecter. It’s also my go to for recording. It always records well.
@@raybirdman I concur. I have my Schecter Stiletto Elite 5-string (with EMG soapbar pickups) for about 8 years. Excellent sustain. Always stays in tune. No complaints. Solid build quality.

Omen extreme acoustic in red 40th anniversary Avenger edition, color is called snow leopard, changes colors depending on light temperature Devil Custom in green Stealth in satin red Blue reign Apocalypse, the most stunning guitar I've ever seen
DUDE! I was deciding between that and the Schecter Apocalypse a couple months ago. I ended up going with the Apocalypse because of how beautiful the body was. Nonetheless, out of the 5 electrics that I have, 3 of them are schecters (Apocalypse, hellraiser DLX, and C1 Platinum) because I am in love with the quality and affordability of the quality. Hell, after my very first guitar (Squier by fender) I got a Schecter omen active as my first better guitar years ago. Can't say enough good about them!!

DAMN!!! NOW THAT'S A GREAT GUITAR! It looks like you're playing through hot butter. This guitar would be the last guitar I would buy and be well worth the investment. Great work, Schecter!
Schecter doesn't fuck around. I have a 2003 C1+ that is still just an amazing guitar. I have sold ESPs, Gibsons, PRS and Jacksons I've owned in the past but that guitar will NEVER leave.
Schecter guitars are amazing. I got a second hand hellraiser off your recommendation and, my god, that thing is made so beautifully, absolutely love that guitar. Wouldn't change a thing about it
Love Schecter, well made instruments, pretty solid QC. You’re welcome to try using my Donegan Ultra if you want. I’m not far from the studio so I can drop it off, no need to ship.
Wow, your lead playing isn’t comical anymore, that’s the best compliment I can give you Glenn lol. You must have put a lot of hard work and practise in congrats. I’d love to get a Schecter 7 string, been looking at those lately.
Me and my Dad went to test an amp in a guitar shop and were handed a schecter hellraiser to test the amp with, we forgot all about the amp and were just blown away by how good that guitar was, we couldn’t afford it at the time but I have since got myself a hell raiser V with a FR and that thing puts the biggest smile on my face. I also got a Wylde audio V too because it seems anything in or around the orbit of schecter is just killer. Glad to see this is no exception!
I was expecting the schecter to just go through that Mustaine V but Great video and great guitar Glenn!! Certainly way better the competition!! Might get a 7 string from schecter now
I picked up a schecter c7 pro and since then its been my go to for the last 2 years, cost me round $1200AUD and for the price its great, hope this helped

Thanks for the video Glenn. In the last 2-3 years, it always comes up that I should buy an Evil Twin series Schecter, because practically everyone says only good things about them. The Telecaster shape is my favorite from this series.
this is great, it makes me think about getting a schecter 8 or 9 string instead of a fender ultimate if i want to buy a nice guitar at some point, I'll probably be better with the schecter because i always use lots of distortion 👍
I have a Schecter 7 string and a Damien Platinum. I LOVE those guitars. The Damien Platinum is the one of my many guitars I play most often. It feels great and plays like a dream.
I have the EXACT same guitar as the one you showed in the beginning, besides the fact I got the one with a Floyd Rose so I could learn some silly, fun tricks. It's a beast and still holding up perfectly well! Never getting rid of mine -- even taking it overseas with me to live elsewhere soon.
you know its good when Glen is gushing over it! I've had a Banshee extreme 7 for the past few years and its just as good now as it is out of the box. holds tune beautifully, feels great and sounds great. Honestly one of the better brands out there at the minute!
Thats awesome! If they offered a gloss finish I'd pick that up instantly, just some weird personal preference I have with satin guitars. Would still pick this over the Mustaine any day. Killer review!
same here, I've been suffering a lot as Schecter fan, they offer loads of finishes but plenty of them look too flashy for me, and the black ones are satin, which I don't like....
@@taxo I've heard the same from many people who don't like these guitars, either too eye catchy or "edgy". Idk I have a black glossy Hellraiser Hybrid that has a satin neck. It has the right amount of details for me without being too loud in color.
@@wingsoficarus1139 i mean it's not that all their guitars are gaudy, but plenty. The reaper series for example, loads of green and violet burled burst (burled top worst guitar trend in decades), or the custom series with lacks solid colors for some reason, and many others. If you don't happen to like figured tops you're in trouble with schecter, as 90% of their catalog is built around those, which keeps many metalheads away Imho. There's a reason why rock and metal gigs and festivals are filled with Esp and Jackson artists, but almost no Schecter ones, and it's not the quality of their guitars.
I got my first schecter in 2007 the c-1 classic in blue and still my go too guitar. Plays great and never have any problems with it. Me and the guys call it old reliable. Gorgeous guitars, they dont break the bank and always reliable. Good stuff!!
Glen, two guitars off the top of my head that are a awesome deal for the price is the Kramer Baretta and Jackson js22 both are 199 U.S. dollars and both are awesome budget guitars. Any interest in doing a review on ether one?
Just be weary of the Jackson QC. I’ve found it to be pretty bad as of late. Had a Jackson Dave Davidson that had all kinds of flaws and sent it back for a Schecter Keith Merrow and it was so much nicer and $100 cheaper lol
I got a JS22 in metallic blue, awesome for the price, quality on mine was great , no flaws anywhere, did change the tuners for a set of Kluson ones, now it tunes properly.
Thank you for showing us how to lift the lid to the guitar case. Alot of guys dont understand how important that part is.. its was awesome down right amazing
It's not hard to beat a Gibson for both price and quality. What's hard for many old timers is catching up to today's reality about the best guitars on the market. Schecter is one of many great values.
Schecter has never disappointed in my opinion amazing work from their shop. The embodiment of quality over quantity. This is the reason why I'd be willing to pay the money for a Schecter before I Even consider a Gibson.
Hi Glen, love your channel (from Czech Republic) Im bedroom guitarist for last 7years , I spend 2 years playing for multiple bands before ,and I can 100% confirm everything you said about the bass players , I checked old photos from our bands meetings and I swear ,every photo shows me recording guitars and vocals ,while my bass player is laughting his ass of over some car crash accident videos ...
Schecter is my favorite true budget brand next to Ibanez. They have real budget metal machines. I've had the Sun Valley Super Shredder FR S for 5 years, just recently put a SD Blackout AHB-1 in the bridge to really make Drop C work.
Yeaaahh.....I have the Super Shredder FR S too. Best damn guitar I ever owned. It's just got _galactic_ tone, the Floyd has a brass bridge block (it came with the guitar, it isn't an add on), stays in tune to the point that my fine tuners are feeling neglected🤣, the sustainiac is SICK, and Schecter is my go to company for guitars now.
My first real guitar was the same hellraiser! Sweet guitar. Lol. I traded it in for my sons syn gates guitar. Think I’m gonna buy another one. I miss it. Props to schecter for putting out quality at a decent price. Great review
I've owned a Schecter Diamond Series Omen-6 since 2008, and still love it. It's a solid workhorse guitar - I've switched out the pickups several times, banged it up, dented it, painted and re-painted it, etc. Still a SOLID guitar. And I only paid $300 for it.
Hellraiser C-1 FR owner here and that guitar is an absolute delight, my #1. Everything on it is perfect, the looks, the build, nothing else to say. I had a more affordable one before, the Schecter Omen 6 and honestly even that one felt and sounded way more premium than it should be for that price point. Schecter always delivers.
I got a lower end Schecter model. The Demon 6. Was just an impulse buy to have 24 fret guitar. I have a first year model with Duncan Designed pickups which I fell in love with. Just love the this guitar.
I have NEVER gotten the hate for Schecter. I’ve had a Stiletto Studio 5 bass with factory EMGs since 2004. Almost 20 years!? It has been and absolute work horse that always come back to. It records well, I’ve only have to set it up twice, and it’s tuning stability is unquestionable. The only problem it has is scratchy pots that deoxit only slightly helps with, but these pots have had a lot of wear over the past two decades.
I started playing guitar in 08 and my first upgrade from my starter squire was a hellraiser in the sunset body shape with an original floyd. 14 years later and countless guitars bought and traded, its still my #1 and the Best playing and sounding instrument I own. I bought a Keith Merrow model 2 years ago and the quality is just as impressive. I think the Korean made schecters can go toe to toe with a lot of high end manufacturers.
Hey Glenn, awesome V! Sounds as good as it looks. About those strings getting hung up in the nut, I recommend "Big Bends Nut Sauce " (available thru Sweetwater) I use it on all my Stats & guitars that don't have locking nuts. Keeps those suckers in tune! I also got a Schecter Hellraiser-S a few months ago, that looks just like yours. Except it's got a Floyd, an EMG in the bridge & a Sustainiac in the neck. What a beast, I love it. You need to check out a Sustainiac sometimes.
I own three Schecter’s and they have been my favorite to play. I own a Gibson Les Paul custom, fender Stratocaster American preformer, Jackson dinky, Ibanez RG and a Epiphone les Paul. My Gibson is the heaviest guitar I’ve ever picked but it was about 3 to 4 thousand dollars. My Schecter’s are a third of the price of my Gibson and plays just as good or better. They’re spec’d out with sustainiac pickups and stainless fret’s with ebony fretboard and glow in the dark fret dots.
I owned the exact C-1 Hellraiser for many years, and this year went to the 7 string, and has always been the best guitar I've ever owned. I do all my studio work with these guitars.
My c1+ was bought in 2006 and toured for well over a year. I still have it and it’s near perfect for its age. Neck is straight, plays fast, 24 frets, Grover tuners. Schecter was trying to deliver quality guitars for the players out there and they did just that.
I don't understand how people can hate Schecter when they put out sick guitars like this!
Right? I got the Demon 7 and Solo 2 custom and absolutely love them both

This happened to Glenn, imagine what happens to every day folk.
Gibson corp is a joke and no one should be spending their money with them.
Authentic bad products made by an authentically bad company.
He could have returned/exchanged it. He just didn’t.
But why? If something has serious defects isn't the manufacturer obliged to return it or exchange it?
Exactly total bullshit , for what they cost that's a shitty policy!
I've been playing for 33 years. Out of all the guitars I've ever owned or played, my Schecter is by far my favorite to play! Awesome review, keep the great videos coming!
I've LOVED Schecter since the mid 90's so I am glad they have done so well for you and your studio, damn Glenn I LOVE YOU
Schecter and ESP makes a lot of their stuff in the SAME factories (Japan & Korea). Far better than a lot of the Gibson, import and american.
@@malcolmbliss777better at what? Endorsing you tubers?
@elmerdane There are players and there are talkers. My band toured 15,000 miles last spring.
How many miles did your band put on the odometer?
Awesome, I have the Explorer version of this guitar and even though it doesn't come with the case, the Fit & Finish is as flawless as yours was. It's one that I will definitely keep for a long time.
Schecters fucking rule , I've had the Synyster Gates custom S , Omen Extreme , Demon , C1 Deluxe , and the Damien. Their guitars are by far the best bang for the buck , better quality and more affordable than a crappy Gibson IMO!
I'm looking at one of those but I'm scared to pull the trigger because I tried schecter's four different times and all four different models the low e was buzzing so bad it was just completely unplayable.
@@beefnacos6258 Wow I'm surprised , I've had 5 different ones and currently own 2 and haven't run into a problem. I'm talking from $350-$1500 guitars , they always seem to be great quality with no issues and I keep the action as low as possible.🤔
@@beefnacos6258 try finding one in a store and playing if you don’t want to test your luck
Same here! It has to be my favorite guitar of the ones I've bought. I had a bit of excess fret glue though, how was yours?
Yeah I’ve liked schecter for a while now (probably about 2020 ish when I started playing guitar) and I’ve always heard good things. After watching this video, it is inevitable that I’m going to add a schecter to my collection, cheers Glenn
Best decision i made of 2022 was my Schecter E-1 SLS Elite Electric Guitar Black Fade Burst 1345-SHC. Seriously, most amazing guitar I have ever owned.
I think that the finish on the back would look awesome on the front too. The fret markers look sick. Sounds great too
2023 is the year i pick up my very first new humbucker-equipped guitar. it's a Schecter. thank you for this review, Glen, and enjoy your new guitar!
I like your energy! This is the only channel I have subscribed to after only watching 1 video! Your energy is up beat and positive!
Just bought the Apocalypse model. It is incredible - it has the same finish on the rear side as the Evil Twin. LOVE Schecter! Thanks, Glenn!!
I just got a C-7 Apocalypse FR S \m/(>.
Yeah, an Apocalypse is on my wish list! REALLY want to get one!
I dug out my Apocalypse Avenger the other day, and it was still in tune after collecting dust for more than a month. In terms of usability, it's my favourite guitar.
This is one guitar I will not be messing around with.
I own the Mustaine V and I can say that it’s an unbelievable guitar. Sounds amazing, built well and plays soooo damn good!!!!
I had an Schecter Omen 6 ten years ago, it was seriously one of the best guitars ive ever played!
I love that you do the "drop test". Tooooo many reviews never show it. Thanks Fricker 🤘
I’ve played their basses for years, super well put together
I’ve had my Schecter 5 string for almost 20 years and I’ve had to adjust the neck twice and it’s always in tune. Rock solid basses. I’ve had other basses with sexier names on the headstock, but I always come back to the Schecter. It’s also my go to for recording. It always records well.
@@raybirdman I concur. I have my Schecter Stiletto Elite 5-string (with EMG soapbar pickups) for about 8 years. Excellent sustain. Always stays in tune. No complaints. Solid build quality.
Schecters are great value. I own 7 now.
Schecters hellraiser in black
Hellraiser sustainiac in transmission quilt purple, Gear Orphanage exclusive back in 2014.
Omen extreme acoustic in red
40th anniversary Avenger edition, color is called snow leopard, changes colors depending on light temperature
Devil Custom in green
Stealth in satin red
Blue reign Apocalypse, the most stunning guitar I've ever seen
Glenn thanks again for not blowing me out of the water with a 20 second screem I drive a semi truck for a living and I have to play through the stereo very loud and it would just blast me so thanks again for that because I enjoy your channel more than I like anybody else's guitar content you have come a long way in your guitar playing which is awesome never played a schecter before but that guitar looks and sounds amazing love the channel keep up the good work
To be honest I haven't watched SMG for a while but damn..... your playing has improved since the last time. Kudos.
True
Schecter is knocking it out of the park. I love my Schecter tele with Bigsby and switchable humbuckers.
I personally think Schecter has the coolest looking headstocks. I have an Omen-7 and it’s amazing!
Really? Where are you located?
@@SpectreSoundStudios Amherstburg. Also have a 25 year old Soldano hot Rod 50 with 2x12 cab if you want to mess with it sometime
rotfl that clean tone chord at the end was so worth sticking around for, thank you for the lol & the great review of this sleek monster!!!
I really wish they hadn't stopped making the Platinum V-1. It was going to be my next guitar until all of a sudden they were all gone.
The clean tone demonstration was off the wall. Great job!
@@mattywrecks8727 I hope they make a 27" one cause that's what I'm aiming for otherwise there is an ibanez with that spec too. I want to go down to dadgad in G#, the way tesseract/monuments tune
I have a Banshee Elite 7 and it's excellent. The only thing I've had to do is change the pickup selector after it broke
@@lightiskalkin Banshee elite7...27" scale. I have one. Its great.
Wow, thats a sharp looking guitar !! I agree Schecter is one of those brands that punchs much under the price points of the larger known brands with equal if not better quality !!
Schecter Guitars really have some of the nicest fretwork. They offer a guitar for everyone. Their lineup is really quite extensive.
Thanks for the video Glenn. In the last 2-3 years, it always comes up that I should buy an Evil Twin series Schecter, because practically everyone says only good things about them. The Telecaster shape is my favorite from this series.
this is great, it makes me think about getting a schecter 8 or 9 string instead of a fender ultimate if i want to buy a nice guitar at some point, I'll probably be better with the schecter because i always use lots of distortion 👍
get an schecter 8 string bro i play one theyre so well made sturdy and sound great
This all makes so much sense...!!
Same here, except I upgraded the Floyd to an original
Price ? 🤔
@@TazerGames I got it in 2008 or 2009 and it cost $900USD at the time
you know its good when Glen is gushing over it!
🤘
Bought a Shecter 7 String Avenger waaaay back in 1999. It is a forever guitar for me. That company makes absolute tanks! Such rock solid instruments.
My white c7 hellraiser rocks since 2010. Bought it in Japan! Awesome brand!
I have a Schecter omen 6
Only upgrade I did was Grover locking tuners, and change my strings to D’Addario now it’s my go to Guitar
Hi Glen, love your channel (from Czech Republic)
Im bedroom guitarist for last 7years ,
I spend 2 years playing for multiple bands before ,and I can 100% confirm everything you said about the bass players ,
I checked old photos from our bands meetings and I swear ,every photo shows me recording guitars and vocals ,while my bass player is laughting his ass of over some car crash accident videos ...
I bought the same guitar a couple of years ago! LOVE IT.. its honestly the best playing guitar Ive ever owned.
"The main attraction here IS THE GUITAR." FUCK YES IT IS, Glenn! That thing is fucking gnarly!
Long time fan here, and novice tech. I've honestly loved seeing you put all these brands to the test so we know where to put our money.
I bought that exact guitar years ago, my first guitar over $1,000, my first guitar over $250. Lol. Love that guitar, now I want a Jim Root Tele.
You played that riff like a boss. Sounds freaking great. I want one now!!!
My first real guitar was the same hellraiser! Sweet guitar. Lol. I traded it in for my sons syn gates guitar.
Think I’m gonna buy another one. I miss it. Props to schecter for putting out quality at a decent price. Great review
Glenn!!!!! I can tell you're still practicing your playing. Keep it up dude! The work is paying off!!!
I wish glenn a happy new year and guitar classes!
I just got a Schecter V1 Custom in the mail.and all I can say is wow best guitar I ever owned. U will definitely be buying more Schecters.
Christ Glenn , last 5 seconds and I just spat my drink all over my new monitor. Best clean tones guitar review in internet history. Brilliant
I love the fact that you have been practicing brother man! Fantastic!
I got a lower end Schecter model. The Demon 6. Was just an impulse buy to have 24 fret guitar. I have a first year model with Duncan Designed pickups which I fell in love with. Just love the this guitar.
Ya know, Glenn.... it's nice to see you showing some love
It sounds fantastic! I've never even played a Schecter, but I'd like to own that!
A flying V was not on my next guitar plans, until now!!! I do really want to give this evil twin a try!.- Thanks Glenn
Damn! Glenn that sounds awesome 🤘
A Schecter Blackjack was the first good guitar I bought with my own money back in the 2000s, man it was worth every penny.
Was actually considering this guitar, thanks for reviewing it
I own three Schecter’s and they have been my favorite to play.
Awwww yeah!
I owned the exact C-1 Hellraiser for many years, and this year went to the 7 string, and has always been the best guitar I've ever owned. I do all my studio work with these guitars.
I love that you play Painkiller on every guitar. I always test a guitar with the main Creeping Death riff.
I have always been a fan schecter. I have always liked that company more than any other. I never said I did like them.
My c1+ was bought in 2006 and toured for well over a year. I still have it and it’s near perfect for its age. Neck is straight, plays fast, 24 frets, Grover tuners. Schecter was trying to deliver quality guitars for the players out there and they did just that.
Your soloing in this video is the most satisfying kind I've heard man. You've been practicing pretty hard.
