I've been to Elephant Nature Park near Chiang Mai and it is a haven, not just for over 100 elephants, but also thousands of rescued dogs, cats, and water buffalo. ENP has also helped the local farmers by buying their crops to feed the elephants, and provides work for the local villagers so they don't have to move to the cities to find work. Please support them so they can continue fulfilling their important mission.
The elephants are not only free from "performing " or/and working them to death on the streets, forests or side shows and grueling riding on them, but just as important or more so, they are not being starved, forced to perform or work with broken legs, hit repeatedly, separated from their own kind, isolated on chains, and abused savagely. Ms Lek has saved them from a cruelty that is mind boggling in its scope and acceptance in thialand. Ms Lek is a lady and a hero to us in the States and in the world. The people who donate are Co heros and the best of this world's generation. We stand with Ms Lek and the elephants, dogs/cats and Buffalo she also rescues.
Thank you so much for showing this...people need to know the plight of the elephant. Elephant Nature Park is a true sanctuary and is an amazing place to volunteer. Please support them and don't visit elephant shows or ride them
Support Elephant Nature Park by visiting them and their various supported projects or sponsor an elephant or elephant baby to the save elephant foundation or Gentle Giant projects.
Help! Keep them in prayer because this week they have had the worse flooding in 20 years and the dam on the river has been breached. Elephants are safe were evacuated to safety Today.
A big thank you to the dedicated people involved in caring for these precious beings! It's so sad elephants are no longer safe in the natural wild. Poaching is terrorism on wildlife and needs to be addressed and dealt with just as harshly as the one we are fighting today. Unfortunately, many of these circus/riding/street begging owners are back to the old trick after the pandemic. Still way to work to save these poor abused privately owned elephants.
Elephant nature park is a horrible place for elephants. They keep them chained at night, and they only turn them loose onto the yard during a short period of the day. The elephants spend more than half of their day chained by one front and one back leg. They have had several mahouts killed by elephants due to improper training and safety procedures. They put nails in their ears, and they use sling shots, and other forms of negative reinforcement to get the elephants to move away from them. There have been multiple mahouts that work at this place that have came out anonymously and stated that the elephants are abused and the mahouts are abused as well. This place makes tens of thousands of dollars a day off of tourism, and Lek Chailert is lying to the public by acting poor and innocent when in actuality she is making millions of dollars a year taking advantage of naive tourists and spreading lies and misinformation about other elephants camps and elephant owners. Lek also started in the tourism industry, but left and started a “sanctuary” to lie to the public and make money. The elephants are suffering from foot disease and improper veterinary care and belong in veterinary hospitals and that place has had lots of suspicious deaths. Don’t believe everything you hear

There are no natural elephant sanctuaries left in thailand. All elephants are domesticated for a purpose..
