@@naveenthemachineI'd have to disagree. I mean those diamond looking knobs for the drive selector looks cheap as all hell. it's just not my type of interior and it cost 20k more. It's a lose lose.
The gv80 may be more luxurious but the cx70 is more fun to drive. I buy a car for its driving abilities. I got a cx70 3 months ago this car is a steal. Its bigger gets better mileage and 20k less .
The wireless phone projector works very well on the GV80, however, it was a recent OTU that requires pushing some buttons at the car to install, so maybe that one doesn't have it installed. Another thing is that you have to full disconnect the phone, and redo the connection wirelessly to get it work. After doing that, is great, responsive and works every single time. The best wireless connection that I have experience in any car.
Two car comparison, luxury car diesn't handle that well, handling car is not quite luxurious. Both are OK! This is NOT a comparision review! This is a side by side review!
Dumb video. Luxury is luxury not just because of leathers in the car... It is all the surplus of amenities and features that does not exist in normal brand cars is what makes luxury.... Mazda at best is Premium because it lacks the showcase of surplus of features and amenities of convenience and vanity.
OMG could you stop with the hands, it’s like watching the latest Apple product launch it just looks so fake as if someone told you to do it. Other than that great video .
The GV80 doesn't make the CX-70 look oufdated, but it's a more budget-friendly GV80 for less $ since it doesn't have some of the rear seat amenities the GV80 has
lol no one is out there shouting out they drive a Genesis. A Hyundai with a badge change is still a Hyundai and it’s not making it to 150k miles without major issues 😂
I would go with the Mazda and keep the extra $20K. I would really consider the Mazda if only they did at least two things: Make the touch screen a REAL touch screen and two, hybridize their inline-6 like Volvo does with their vehicles. This would make the Mazda perform similar to a BMW X5. This would make the Mazda an awesome car.
CX70 is comparable to a higher-end Palisade or Telluride, not GV80. I own a CX90 (inline6 Premium Plus) and a Genesis GV60 (and I drove a GV70 as a loaner before) and in terms of luxury, materials used, ride quality, and features, they are not in the same class. Genesis feels way more like a luxury car. I wouldn't compare CX70 to a GV70 either.
Previous Genesis employee here. His comment about the 2.5 liter turbo engine that is available in the GV80 only being available in “base models” couldn’t be further from correct. You can have a roughly $74,330 fully loaded GV80 with the 2.5 liter turbo engine in the “2.5 T Prestige AWD” trim and it is definitely not a “base model.” That would be the “Standard” or maybe the “Select” trim level.
Silly comparison with the >20K price difference! The maxed out Mazda should have been compared with the BASE Genesis to be close in price…and the luxury and engine differences would have been much more important/interesting/worth considering. Non-rich people compare value-for-money for roughly similar prices because they have a budget! 🧐🧐🧐
I actually own a 2021 cx-9 grand touring and a 2023 genesis gv60. Mazda is nice but genesis is luxurious. Mazda omits so many features. Genesis brimming with features.
Mazda copied BMW, from far looks like a BMW, also the famous in line 6 cylinders engine, they should have their own personality, but they followed the Chinese approach, while they shouldn't. Genesis has a bold independent personality can't be compared to fake BMW.
I definitely agree with you. Genesis is just more modern, in my opinion. But what's strange is this guy that has a cookie as his profile pic commented on every Korean car video just to bash. If you dont like Korean cars, why watch their videos? It's giving stalker vibes if you ask me.
Its disrespectful to compare a Mazda anything against a Genesis, really CG? Genesis is outdoing Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, Lincoln, Cadillac, and Volvo respectively. I get Mazda wants to go up market and has a nice new RWD architecture but even while still a young brand there's MO COMPETITION!
Genesis is hands down for the win! It's aesthetically pleasing, and the technology and infotainment look like the future is already here.
Genesis is way up there, this is Apple vs banana comparison
Both are impeccably executed and both brands did a great job
The gv80 wins by a hair though
How can you say that when it's 20k more?
@@troyprudhomme8222 because the interior is even nicer and you get next level features and tech. But the cx70 is exceptional in its own right
@@naveenthemachineI'd have to disagree. I mean those diamond looking knobs for the drive selector looks cheap as all hell. it's just not my type of interior and it cost 20k more. It's a lose lose.
Not for 25k for more
I have the Cx 90 and it’s great .not paying 20k more for anything out there.
The wireless Apple/Android comes in the form of an Over The Air update.
gv80...much better tech....much better looks...much higher price.....you get what you pay for.
The gv80 may be more luxurious but the cx70 is more fun to drive. I buy a car for its driving abilities. I got a cx70 3 months ago this car is a steal. Its bigger gets better mileage and 20k less .
Gv70 would be a fair comparison not gv80
Price wise yes but size wise the CX-70 & GV80 are similar in size
Mazda does a great job with the driving experience
Liked the Mazda interior more. Maybe it's the colours that mislead me. The Genesis looked cold & clinical. Mazda warmer & snug in comparison.
Mazda for the win for me

What's wrong with the Infotainment system in the Mazda. Most people will leave it in wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
@cargurus, which is more reliable?
Two of THE best looking SUVs in the segment

Give me the Mazda. It’s unique. Genesis tries to be a fake bentley
looks nothing like a bentley
@@kaizeniii no it doesn’t it’s a fake bentley
@@BB2001hjk well no, its a genesis
@@kaizeniii That resembles a Bentley. Hyundai has a reputation for mimicking designs from more well-known, established brands.
Mazda vs Temu Bentley?
13:04 The build quality is very much up to par with an Acura or Lexus. Where was that coming from 🤨🤔🧐?
Build quality is way better than Lexus and on par w Acura

Exactly 😂
GV80 is awesome but the fuel economy is atrocious at 18/22. The CX70 24/28 with PHEV option. That’s a lot less time spent at the pump.
What?!?! 20 combined in 2024?!
CX70 can’t compare with GV80. Gv80 makes CX70 look outdated
Nothing really compares to the GV80 in terms of aesthetics for this pricepoint

Mazda any day over a Hyundai
It's a Genesis!

It's hardly surprising but for the extra 23K the Genesis costs over the Mazda (40% more!) you actually do get something for it.

Mazda came compete with genesis. They're barely better than kia
Bad comparison. Genesis is in a totally different class. If money is no issue, nobody would pick a Mazda over the genesis
Dear Mazda,
Please make a car that sells for $80,000 to show all these so-called luxury brands what true luxury means.
20 thousand is More than a bit of a price difference.. the sloth and stupidity of that statement- undermines the whole point ..
Will never buy a Korean car because I like cars that are reliable and simple to use
I would take genesis in a heartbeat.
Other than the price, the genesis may not last that long based on research.
Gavin Newsom is now reviewing cars. About time.
The GV80 needs a blacked out chrome option
Love this comparison great job!
They picked the wrong cars to compare. Lol
You didn't even talk about the rear seats.

These Genesis SUV’s will not age well
I rather the Mazda more value and does just about the same thing as the Genesis! Hyundai’s reliability is a bit sketchy these days 😂
Mazda infotainment system is garbage
Colossally overpriced.
