Coming from an ancient suburban, I wanted a medium sized SUV - and this size is absolutely perfect for me. I wanted the size of a 3-row SUV withOUT the 3rd row. Viola! Answer to my prayers. I got the plug-in hybrid and LOVE IT!
Every reviewer has missed what really makes the CX-70 appealing to people like me over the CX-90. The ability to get the second row bench seat in the upper trims. Our kids are grown so the third row in the CX-90 is not very useful. Would be ok for shorter adults on shorter trips, but not all that useful. So, we wanted five seat capacity with the third row folded available in all trims. We also prefer the styling changes made on the outside. Since we don't have the third row we now have plenty of under floor cargo storage for things that stay in the car. Stuff like air compressors, grocery store bags, owners manual, etc. Before the CX-70 came out, I thought I wanted a CX-60 sized two row. Now that I have a CX-70 Turbo S Premium I don't think that way anymore. The extra space has been a God send on long trips. Our previous SUV was a CX-5 Signature turbo and we loved it... but the lack of cargo space was an issue when taking longer trips. With the CX-70 we can have our cake and eat it too. And it gets better fuel economy than the CX-5 did to boot 😁
Hello from Tasmania! I watched the entire episode, it was good, thankyou very much. I’m toying with the idea of test driving this baby buy kind of already have my heart set on the Lexus GX550. 😬
I just really wish Mazda would come out with a spiritual successor to the old 92-95 Mazda 929. A large, premium 4-door rear wheel drive sedan. They can use the CX-70/90's platform and use the same engine. They can call it the Mazda9. I think it would sell.
They sure did. It was called the 929 in America and Sentia or Serenia in other markets across the world. 1st Gen was from like 1987-1991 and the 2nd Gen was from 1992-1995.
Love to see this. I love Mazdas skyactiv tech for its good gas mileage. Their whole line up is shaping up to be excellent all around vehicles. Im not really a fan of sporty SUVS tho I feel like for SUVS the suspension feel should still be pretty plush and soft all around
Yeah Mazda really has been killing it! Yeah, this one is specially rode a little bit too rough for me! They can still make it handle well without rattling your bones haha
@@BernonCars Yes, and I really don't understand why Mazda launch turbo Staight 6 and rear wheel architecture which are upmarket features. If they can add this and improve the handling and comfort, this will become an X7 40i alternative for me with less money to spend.
Was hoping to disagree with you since you’re generally a fan of soft boats (ie xc90, Honda mainline stuff, and Toyotas) but I agree with your assessment of the driving. It’s a good mainstream product that has some rough edges. I haven’t driven the new pilot yet but I hear it’s a better overall package. What happened to the road with some bends?
Wait what the CX-80 is smaller than the CX-90 AND CX-70?? Man Mazda really made it unnecessarily complicated. They should've just made 3 SUVs. The 60, the 80 with and without third row and the 90 exclusively with third row.
@3:55 Beautiful car looks amazing again the red Trees in the background
It was the perfect spot!!

That's a good point!! Sweeet I hope you enjoy it!!

That's a good point! The bench is way better. Thanks for tuning in!
The new Mazda lineup is amazing.
Right!
Excellent review. Love the car.
Me too! Thank you very much!
I have the cx90 absolutely love it, great car!
That's wonderful!

Hello friend! I appreciate you watching! Yeah this is nice but the GX is a whole other beast! Haha
All CX-7s used a 4 cylinder engine from the factory. You could either get a 2.3 turbocharged i4 from 2007, or a 2.5 N/A i4 from 2010.
Ahhhh, thank you as always haha

Wow I didn't know Mazda made a large RWD sedan😯

It would be such a dream
929 is cool! I know a fella with one
@@BernonCars Lets not forget the Millenia. That car was silky smooth. However, the 2.5L N/A V6 was more reliable than the Miller Cycle 2.3L S/C V6.
Bern! The Rav4 V6 was always my dream beater. But this thing may be my true daily.
Yesssss, these are real nice man!! Perfect dynamic duo haha

Really love the caramel interior. Not sure how it would look after a few years. Black is boring but easy to take care of.
I agree. I much prefer this color!
I appreciate the inline-6 but would have bought the CX60 without a second thought.
But now my eye is on the GV70 3.5TT
Right! The CX60 comes with the I6 too!! Sigh.
GV70 is very nice! Hope to drive one some day.
Red and black interior is nicer for me
I hear ya
Mazda should have given the top trim with adaptive suspension so that it can cope with comfort and sporty requirements.
I agree! Would be much much better

LOL disagree 😭😭 thats funny, but yeah it certainly has some shortcomings! I filmed this near home in the lame suburbs!
Wait they got rid of the torque converter for more driver and front passenger space?
Yeah!! That's at least what they tell us!
@@BernonCars well seems like a stupid choice to me but whatever

Yes!! LOL. It's such a weird family of SUV's!!
Sure
