The touchscreen can be fully enabled in settings for all apps (default is off). BUT the navigation wheel is really a joystick and works so well you may like it better. I did.

Except for a couple of Miatas and a truck, my wife and I have bought Honda's and Toyotas for the past 25 years. But, I have to say, I'm not thrilled over the current engine lineups in either (except for Honda's 3.5L) and Toyota quality has gone down a bit in recent years (don't get me started on Toyota's infotainment system 😖). It seams Mazda is poised to take some of their market share once the economy turns around.
Two months ago I traded my 2021 Honda Passport for a CX-70 and so far I'm pleased. The Passport's quality was not what I had come to expect from Honda. After owning 3 Hondas over the last 11 years, it was time to look at other manufacturers and Mazda stood out.
A few brief corrections from a CX-70 PHEV Premium owner: 1) You mention the Preferred trim level (presumably from the CX-90 you reviewed) but CX-70 is only available in the Premium and Premium Plus levels, both with 275/45 tires on 21’’ alloy wheels. 2) You mention two different towing capacities of 3,500 & 5,000 lbs “according to trim level,” when all Turbo S I-6 models have 5,000 lbs and all PHEV I-4 models have 3,500 lb ratings. And one last thing: if you lift the underfloor storage tray (with the lug wrench), my model has a space-saver spare!
Zero surprises , Mazda has been designing and building much better vehicles for years than Honda that turned generic, and often cheap saving their best for Acura brand and Mazda does not have that problem and offers great design and tech , build quality on all vehicles
I have 1 final comment: Every single reviewer mentions that Mazda’s infotainment system uses the control knob, but the center screen is a touchscreen for Android Auto and/or Apple CarPlay. But nobody criticizing this conscious safety decision by Mazda mentions their stated reason: the center screen is too far from most drivers’ seating positions to be operated safely as an iPad while their vehicle is in motion. See Tesla’s accident warning
Glad to see Mazda the CX-70 the market needs more 2 row suv's not everyone wants a 3 row mid size the market is getting smaller with Ford killing the edge for now
Madza's are well made and reliable. But the only thing holding Madza back is their resistance to integrating touch screen technology. Also, in my 2021 CX5 Mazda the lane centering technology is the same as in my 2018 Ford Escape. The steering just vibrates. Mazda needs to update these driver-assist technologies to align with other 2024/2025 models. In this regard, as far as infotainment and driver-assist technologies, in 2024/2025 Mazda still seems to be where Volvo was about 10 years ago before Volvo joined the rest of auto industry. If Mazda changed their mindset about integrating modern technologies Mazda would grow in "leaps and bounds."
The Mazda has voice command. Also the console control keeps you from taking your eyes off the road. There is really no reason to touch the screen. I don't touch my television screen
@@richardellison9833 I see your point. But many laptops and tablets have touch screens. And Mazda's Apple Car Play, and I believe, Google Auto has touch screen technology, which they use as a selling point. These fewtures are on the Mazda Wish List. But, there's no doubt Mazda is a solid car maker.

Love how the vehicle looks from the front and the sides. However, I don't like the way it looks from back, it just doesn't look good when viewed from the back especially when in traffic...It appears narrower than what it is when viewed from the back and also looks like a minivan from the back.

1:07 I love these wheels on the CX-70! They make it pop & that's one obvious way to tell it apart from the CX-90

Thanks for the awesome review, any idea what the warranty is on the hybrid system and hybrid batteries?

Great looking car. Mazda needs to come out with a mid size SUV between the 70/90 and the 50.
cx-80, however will not be available in North America.
@@ChrisJones-vn7beThe CX-60 is also not available in the U.S.

There's a spare tire in my CX-70. It's under the cargo area floor beneath the panel that houses the tire tools.
Was just gonna comment that I’m pretty sure there’s a spare tire on the CX 70!
@@eleanormassaro5195 And, as a CX-70 PHEV Premium owner, I can confirm you are correct!

My issue is that it's the same exact car as the 90. I'm waiting to see what this passport is going to look like.
