I have a 2023 GV80 prestige version with 10Kmi. Couldnt be happier. To me it is elegant, slick and very quick for an SUV. Great bang for the buck relative to the comp at this level.
2:43 The GLE & X5 don't offer ventilated rear seats, manual or power reclining rear seats (except for the GLE with the 3rd row seat package), rear view mirrors for outer passengers, or power rear shades so it's not really a big deal if it has a 3-zone instead of a 4-zone climate system
Look forward to seeing a more efficient powertrain...I will take either a hybrid or PHEV and ready to upgrade from my current Kia Sorento PHEV which I quite enjoy
Pretty bad, I was looking into this. You can get a 3 year old GV80 3.5 prestige with like 30k miles on it for under $45k. That was about a $72k vehicle new, and trade-in value is always a few grand less than used asking price so figure $42k trade. So $30k depreciation or 42% in 3 years. Great value if you're shopping for a used one, but that's a huge hit if you buy one new
It’s obvious when some car companies that have been around for close to 100 years are going to have more options to choose from, you should compare apples to apples and if you knock the gv80 for not having a passenger seat massager your adding much more money to the sticker price, same with air suspension it all come with a premium price add that specked out x5 and your paying 5-10k more, I like your comparisons however your comparison is biased on BMW…sorry I don’t own either but for the money and warranty I’m looking at the gv80 in comparison to a bmw x5
I own a G70 and love the Genesis brand. But the GV80 in my opinion is their ugliest car exterior wise. Interior is real nice, but not a fan at all of the exterior. The G70 and GV70 on the other hand, absolute peices of artwork that you could hang in your garage.
I've owned a half dozen Mercedes and BMW's and other than the last two BMW's I drove, they are built to last. Expensive as hell on upkeep/repairs and insurance but, made to last. You can get a great deal on BMW's on used car lots all over the country. And still get 100k more miles out of them.
I have one and now I know why tiger woods survived a rollover. When I close the doors it feels solid not like some other vehicles that feel like a tin can. Mind you the other ones are much cheaper and like the saying goes you get what you pay for.
@@gregsampson7749 Traverse? Are you kidding me. I’ve had 4 Chevy products in the past 50 years and most of my weekends were spent at the my mechanic. BMWs ? I’ve had 2 of them and I can say they were very good but the last 20 years they have had to many computer issues which were very expensive. Try driving the gv80 and then let me know what you think. Like the saying goes. Don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it.
Why on earth would you go with a Genesis over a Mercedes or BMW? Maybe I’m old fashioned but around me genesis is languishing on used lots while the German cars sell much more briskly.
@@itcangetbetter 2 Mercedes over 7 years, 11 times in for unscheduled service. Caught on fire once. 2 months in for service. Very unreliable. Current models look odd
It’s cheaper. And for a reason. The dealer network is awful, and the brand has not proven itself yet. It’s not my thing - I bought an X5 - but it’s a very nice vehicle in the class.

Just brought mine 3 months ago in this exact interior and exterior color and I love it.
Adding the third row in the GV80 does not remove second row space and the third row can be folded, so get it if you need it from time to time.
And another feature of the bmw is it’s always in the shop.
GV80 Coupe is where its at 🔥
Not having Ergo Motion Seats for both Driver and Passenger is a deal breaker on a 80,000 vehicle.
the new GV80's don't have massage seats available?
@@kevinranders In Australia they have massage for both driver and passenger.
We have wireless carplay now, even on older models, I have a 2023 3.5 prestige

So clean and minimal, beautiful, I love it! I want one!
Bought this instead of GLE and X5 and it has more features in lesser money.
I've owned an X5. No more BMWs. Beautiful vehicles, but the repair costs are outrageous.
well done review.
THEY KEEP REMOVING PHYISCAL BUTTONS -- It's terrible for distractions, usability, and safety. Tired of this crap.
It looked the same before the remodel…calm down.
You talk like you have the money to afford it.
@@SauloMogi I could pay for this car with cash. Do you have a valid argument to make?
@@ShowMeWhatINeedToKnow I dont. If you said, i believe it.
Some companies got rid of them entirely, so at least Genesis isn't changing too much and is keeping it original to its previous model year.
Thank you so much for the update information on the carplay
lol... I was getting motion sickness watching this video. Absolutely Love the exterior, interior uh... not so much.
This GV80 is 🔥

Special thanks to our Patreons for their support of the channel! GV80 or X5?
GV80 ftw!
That’s waaaaaaay better than Lexus interiors 😂😂what are you saying?
Design sure, but materials no
Lexus’s materials nowadays are not even close I must say ..
@@dwnshftthe technology genesis is also better than Lexus! The Lexus RX looks like a car 15 years older inside and out compared to gv80
I must admit Genesis is way better than Lexus when it comes to interiors nowadays and I own a Lexus.
Interior is very unimpressive
This'll be a great used buy in a couple years for $45k. 10 year 100k warranty = might as well buy used
Totally 💯
a big comfy luxury SUV with a big present and with a fair price.

The refreshed interior doesn't feel as luxurious as before
Mine would be the new 25s cost 60k or more
In Australia we have passenger massage.
Their interior is far better than Lexus. That’s where I stoped listening…. Also bmw has been doing glass shifters for yearssss.
rotary gear selectors are horrible . I had a GV 80
Anything is better than my model Y in interior and exterior finish, built quality. The only thing Elon beats the other brands is the battery range
So expensive without wireless phone CarPlay 😳😳😳
My ford f150 xlt has wireless car play
Available now
Thank you
The 2025 model does have wireless CarPlay & Android Auto with this updated infotainment system
Lexus TX and Toyota Grand highlander have great 3rd rows
Different design objectives. Apples to oranges comparison IMHO
I think the interior styling and features for your buck really outdoes the x5.
He said interior close to Lexus ,,,, I think Better,,,,,Lexus outdated
Interior is not better than Lexus.
Love the car
Fun fact, Genesis did it before BMW for the glass shifter. The GV80 came out in 2021, the first BMW that had glass is the iX, a 2022 vehicle.
BMW had glass controls before 2022. I have a 2019 X7 with glass (Swarovski crystal) shifter, idriver controller, volume button, and start/stop button.
I have a glass shifter in my 2010 Dinan 7
If we wanted an x5 review video, we would have typed that in😅

So funny. I love the looks of the GV80, whereas the GV70 has been squished into a "station wagon".
you can have all this things where you want in a Rolls Royce or Bentley for a little bit more money, I hope you understand what I mean?
Too much chrome
Where is the wood interior? Luxury has wood. Sports cars have carbon fiber.
Video free, but I rather have X5

because Mercedes and bmw are garbage under $100k
