    One of the most important and underrated nutritional topics of our time. Finally, we're waking up to how important it is, relative to sodium.
    Another important note: DON'T take your RDA of potassium all at once. Your kidneys and body can't absorb the serum (blood) potassium that quickly all at once, which is why it's important with certain nutrients to absorb slow and steady rather than a bolus. Even the massive potassium pill doctors give you are time-released.

    I would seriously love if you did a video exploring or even ranking. One on bitter greens especially the over looked ones rarely used in North America and one on 'weeds' such as nettle, purslane, dandelion greens and root, lambs quarters, etc. Their is some really great nutrients on these foods and they really deserve a spotlight.
    Edit.... Dandelion greens is an amazing source of potassium too. It is a very good diuretic but doesn't deplete the body of potassium either in case anyone wants to know.

    • @rorykr
      @rorykr 2 місяці тому +2

      @@DevilRitualdrinking water has extremely negligible amounts of potassium in it. 1.1mg is next to nothing. You would have to drink 3,000 liters of water per day just to meet your minimum intake off water alone. Treated tap water has around 8mg per liter according the the WHO. That means at most you’d be getting about 30mg of potassium per day from water. That’s not even 1% of the average daily recommended intake.

    • @rorykr
      @rorykr 2 місяці тому

      You also have to consider that meat has a large amount of potassium in it as well. If you have an 8oz steak with a potato, that’s already 1,100mgs. Say you had milk and cereal for breakfast, that’s an easy 500mgs. A salad for lunch can easily be over 1000 if you pick wisely, and have meat with it. Fruits for a snack and you’ve got over 500 more mgs.

Now I just need to consume those fruits and nuts as a pre work out/ breakfast meal to keep my potassium levels high 24/7. A normal sized breakfast with slow release carbs, pro biotics and potassium and a MASSIVE DINNER with protein, fats, salt, greens (also with potassium), fat soluble vitamin vegetables (beans and carrots) and colourful vegetables for other essential nutrients.

    For atleast 2 days a week i use potatoes as my carb source however hitting 3.5 grams of potassium daily seems really hard even with the amount of potatoes i eat (about 600 grams and it has around 2.4grams of potassium) the amount of chicken i eat also has 1.2 grams of potassium(500grams of chicken) but other days it is really hard to reach 3.4 so wht should we do
    Maybe hitting "potassium goals" is not that impotant for muscle growth but it really helps with the water retention and puffy face

    Can you make a video about supplements in 'green powders'? Shit like Spirulina and such, are they really worth the money??

    I think the recommended allowance of potassium here is a little low, should be 4700mg.
    I looked this up and was amazed how much this was.
    How was I ever going to get this much potassium in a day.

    Can you make a tier list video on green powders? I feel like all the greens powder videos are all biased cash-grabs

    I drink a lot of water but I'm struggling to understand the correct amount of electrolytes I need and how to get them in a chicken, eggs, fruits, veggie and rice diet so I can hydrate as efficiently as possible. I have a multi vitamin w very little electrolytes and I eat a banana and half an avocado every day. I know there's effervescent tablets and stuff but I'm trying not to drop 10-20 bucks a month on that alone.

      You could try dandelion greens and stinging nettle greens. Both have very large amounts of so many of these nutrients and they are easy to add to so many things, sauces, soups, stir-fried, salads, etc.
