My uncle was a Marian! 😊 I quite struggle with devotions to Mary in my religious life and I always regret he passed on before I was mature enough to have any deep conversations with him. God rest his soul! 🤗 But I’m sure that I developed my passion for linguistics, because as a child I was always impressed by him having conversations with other Marians around the world in oh so many languages. 😁
I was raised by a very Marian mother and chose my first spiritual father who is also Marian. And im still struggling with Marian devotions, but its getting through and I am starting to get it.
Love Fr Don and God Bless the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary🙏🏻💙 Now you need to interview Fr Chris Alar MIC ❣️
I believe with prayer the holy spirit will lead you to where one belongs, Fr. Thank you for your words on the Dominican habit. It is a gift to the friars preachers from the blessed mother.
I'm approaching retirement and hope to associate myself in some fashion with an order which focuses on loving one another. When I was young I thought they all do, right? But now I realize that many now if not most would consider the notion hokey and sentimental.
Is it superficial though? Or if it is, we are physical beings, so physical things help us, aid us, remind us in worship of what we are doing. Just like with the good that can come from churches being made beautiful to remind us of the beauty of God and heaven, so can we be reminded and aided by what we wear. I certainly would feel more drawn to AND want to stay in a place with clothing being an aid in reminding me what I am doing is special and why I'm there.
I'd even go beyond the idea of things aiding us by pointing us to God. I'd say these things are actual manifestations of the reality. Beautiful things point us to God's beauty, but beautiful things are actual manifestations of God's beauty as well. Patterns of life, ways of praying etc. all really can be a participation in the Kingdom becoming real on earth as it is in heaven. This is why I'll never understand the modern fear of "larping"
If I were to join a religious order it would be the Spanish “Nazarenos” // “Penitent Ones” with a black hooded outfit and a red cross of St. James. It just seems so hardcore with a nice blend of mystery and secrecy
I have been having a huge issue with knowing where I’m being called. Recently I have been thinking about this community that every time I see them on social media or sometimes think bout them I feel something within my heart. However, idk what it is and can’t truly trust that. Also, my mind gets disturbed when I think about the idea that I might be called there 😔😵💫 is just not what I expected and feel attracted to. Perhaps I'm wrong and being selfish.
If i were to join a religious order it would be the Augustinians( osa) with particular devotion to Our Lady of Consolation or Camillians( mi) with devotion to Mary Health of the Sick or the Trinitarians( osst) with devotion to Our Lady of Remedies.
I genuinely think it's so sad to qualify religious communities as "liberal" or "conservative" I think that's just a way to polarize our own religion and divide us. So I'm particularly saddened by seeing a priest describe communities on those terms.
I was off-put by that remark as well. I'm in the murky waters of early discernment to religious life and this division makes me feel like I'm a lesser Catholic simply because I'm not as traditional as content like this suggests I ought to be.
Yes there's a lot of dubious stuff going on in the church. I'm sorry you feel less of a Catholic because of this sort of things but remember Jesus is in the smallest and most insignificant more than in the righteous and powerful 🙂. I'd encourage you to explore with different spiritualities. Franciscans, Jesuits, visit a Benedictine monastery etc. For me the politics of the church is very off-putting, but when I meet a Catholic (lay or religious) who just seems to be overflowing with joy and love I need to know where they got it from and I think the discovery of God through Catholicism is where they got it. If you'd like, I'd be happy to share material that I find helps me grow in love for God and through him, everyone else.
The religious life has been attacked ever since V2. Many religious orders are not following their original orders intent instead they're following modern thought of what the religious life should be
See now you would Agree that a Religious Order that teaches or does against the Cathecism of the Catholic Church would be pretty bad right? I think that's what they are referring to as the 'Liberal' side (eg: Pro-Abortion Abortion is NOT murder or pro-LGBT Homosexuality is NOT a Sin etc...). Not the age or tradition of the Order.
@@TracyLalonde Pints with Aquinas is mostly conservative leaning, US-centrist (As in the issues of US take precedence) podcast. Don't be discouraged. As a Catholic that has seen both ends of this "political" divide I can asure you it has to do more with the way US politics take precedence over everything in their culture and media, that sadly also dominates the global media, rather than being a total Church issue. Don't be discouraged, there is space for everyone in the Church, despite what different segments of the Church tell.
Fr Calloway seems so fun would love to attend his preaching
I was a Jesuit for 11 years before I was ordained. And I was never a Yakuza. Hahahaha God bless Fr. Calloway.

@@mbalicki have you read True Devotion to Mary or The Secret of Mary? Both books were written by Saint Louis de Montfort.

My religious life devotion has been my nursing career. I have devoted my career to God's service.
Need to share this video with my son.
He’s been questioning for a couple of years now wether he is being called to the Priesthood
Something I heard couple of times while discerning: It's not the question of why you want to join, it's the question of why you want to remain.
Ave MARÍA🌹🌷🌹
Pax et Bonum, love of the Cross be with you
While your interview with Fr. O'Loughlin is still my favorite PWA, this is a really close second.

Also being draw to whatever clothing they wear may cause you to do more research, which may help you decide to join or not
He is hilarious

Super great advice!!! I like that capuchin already! Can we meet him and hear more?

What religious comunity did Fr. Donald said would be the one he would join if he could join another?
C.F.R.: Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. Within the Capuchin tradition.
Don't trivialize the Inquisition. Many innocent people were murdered through the Inquisition.
Actually, the Inquisition wasn't all bad and some saints participated in it. The history is worth reading.
Is there a religious order building houses for the poor?
not on a regular basis but there are
Sure. Do the research and be amazed.
The Alexian Order is a great organization.
If we had a good Pope, would your success plummet?

Only traditional relgious orders and congregations. Don't waste your life on any group that has adopted to new Mass etc.
You mean the OFFICIAL novus ordo?
