Father, as a Filipino, your caricature of us is 100% spot on 👌 I'm proud to know that Filipinos were instrumental in your conversion and vocation, and know that we're all still rooting for you! From a Filipino friend
Talked a local driver here in Hull, England during Ash Wednesday and told him that its the filipino young people (who are nurses and family) who fills the church these days.
I'm bawling! this reminds me of my own conversion. I was pretty much like Fr Calloway in his youth. But one day, I saw a pic of Saint Augustine, read a 100-word bio of him, and told myself "I want to be like him" A week later, I saw a church and decided to enter. it was from the order of Saint Augustine, the parish name is Our Lady of Grace. it was at night and there was a mass, so I entered. then I saw a sign that read "reconciliation" and people queuing. I joined the queue without thinking it too much, almost like in autopilot mode. It was the line for confession. It was almost 15 years since my last confession. the priest took good care of me. and here I am, loving God and Mary with all my heart, trying to be a good catholic.
My whole life has totally changed since My consecration to St Joseph through Dr Calloway’s book. I went from being an orphan pagan living in Los Angeles to singing the rosary everyday and imagining I live in the house of the Holy Family now in Florida.
I'm about ready to join the catholic church. When I realized that's what I'm going to do I had a huge sadness in my heart that flooded my body realizing I did not raise my children in the church and how this might create some separation between us. I want my children to know this peace. I have 3 adult children and one still at home. He will be willing to go. He's open to it. Anyway, In that moment of sadness I can only describe a feeling that next came that overcame me with peace, it was that of a mother's heart and love that told me in my soul that my children will see my peace and eventually come through to knowing that God is real and peace can be found at the catholic church through watching me. That I'll have to say nothing to them. I knew at that time that that was Mary. I've never read a book about her or quite understand who she is yet. But I do KNOW that was her.❤

Dear Jennifer, we are so glad to hear that you will be formally entering the only Church founded by Christ Himself as the ark of salvation! We pray that you complete this wonderful journey successfully and that you will draw others to her, starting with your youngest. I am mexican, and I met Father Calloway in Wisconsin a while ago. I was so happy and suprised he knew about the Cristero War in Mexico. He even visited the birthplace of St José Sánchez del Río, the teenanger saint that laid down his life for Christ. VIVA CRISTO REY!
Fr. Calloway spoke at my school when I was in 7th grade (I am from Steubenville and attended the Catholic school there), and when struggling with my faith throughout my life, I continually thought back to his story and his beautiful conversion. Thank you, Fr. Calloway, for sharing your testimony with little 12-year-old me. You truly have helped my journey with Christ. God bless you.
Most beautiful conversion story I’ve heard, I’m a being jealous because my conversion is more being convinced with various intellectual arguments rather than religious experiences
I'm a substance abuse counselor and I'm also Catholic. Approximately, 10 years ago the grandmother of one of my patients asked me if I ever heard of Fr. Calloway. I had not, so she gave me a DVD of his talk/story to watch. I loved it! Thanks for bringing him on the show. It was great to hear his story again and remember how much God truly loves everyone no matter how deep in the darkness they lay. God bless you all!
I'm half Filipino, it's so funny to hear you guys not wanting to offend us. We LOVE Fr. Don and his testimony and we're a difficult group of people to offend. Speaking of things that are superficial that lead to a deeper love, I felt that way with the rosary. I loved the sound of the words and the beads themselves were so beautiful.
When we do that, we say along it the words “ Mano po” .. It is a way of asking blessings from elders and Priests. At the same time, it’s our way of showing respect to them.
@YAJUN YUAN the word ‘mano’ is Spanish for ‘hand’ (the philippines was colonized by spain for 300 years), while ‘po’ is a Filipino word used at the end of sentences as a sign of respect (to elder relatives, teachers, priests, any person you respect at a higher level basically) So ‘mano po’ would literally translate to ‘hand, please’ or in this case, asking a priest for his hand (which, as Fr. Calloway mentioned, is considered holy) / a blessing
I was just thinking about a dear childhood friend who has lost her way and gone down dark and dangerous paths recently. I've prayed to various saints for her conversion, but I was starting to doubt that she could ever return to the faith after the life she's been living. Then this interview came up, and man, God knows how to put me in my place and bow to His sovereignty. He can do anything.
@@vet8865 I've done a novena to St. Therese of Lisieux and offer up an intention for her when I go to daily mass. I'm unfortunately unable to fast, but I agree, I should do more novenas to different saints. And it would be a great blessing for anyone who reads this to pray for her, too!

Fr. Calloway reminds me of a modern day Father Corapi. His preaching is very powerful! Pray for this good priest and all priests. They are constantly under attack and our prayers help them 🙏
Amen. I do pray for all the priests. I realize how difficult their life is. Being human they’re expected to always behave like divine and criticized and all that. Oh! I was praying for Fr. Callaway while I was listening to this video. Yes, they need a lot of prayer. I pray for them during my rosary and during mass I ask Jesus to bless the celebrant and all who serve the alter. I am in the midst of the honeymoon phase you mention and I really hope I never go back to who I was. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! ❤ God be with you always.
I'm thinking Father is about 49 years old here. He was born in 1972 exactly 22 years after I was born. I was just out of college when he was born. His life change is miraculous. St. Paul had a much more intensive conversion than Father, but still, his conversion is amazing. I wish my conversion could have been more resolute. This man is amazing.
Fr. Don talked about Filipinos getting his hand and putting on their forehead. This is called "mano". It is done as a sign of respect and greeting to priests, your parents, grandparents and other elders (at home and in the community) and at the same time a gesture requesting for the priest's or elder's blessing. Usually done after mass, generally upon seeing them, before leaving the house and upon arriving home. Priests or elders usually respond with "God bless you" or "May God watch over you" and/or a hand gesture of the cross over the head after doing the "mano". This gesture symbolizes the Filipinos' high value and respect for family especially for their elders.
The consecration to St Joseph book is amazing. Myself and my husband used his book and we felt like we are now part of St Joseph's family. He is our Spiritual Father.
@@asiaaviator5353 have you found Fr. Don"s talks about his journey to write the consecration to St. Joseph book in UA-cam? Good stuff. Several are out there. Blessings!
Awesome interview! I never tire of hearing Fr. Don's conversion story. It was after hearing it for the first time a number of years ago that inspired me to join the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. Thanks, Matt, for having him on your program. God bless you!
As a Filipino, it never fails to make me laugh when Fr. Don compares Filipina women to high ranking spec ops units as Catholics. edit: oh my goodness the amount they talk about Filipinos in this episode is a lot (and they'll all true). God bless you both.
Fr. Calloway is amazing. I got to meet him last year at a Marian conference and he’s so chill! He also blessed my St. Joseph image that he commissioned! 🙌🏼
I did the consecration to Saint Joseph last year and it definitely made me feel closer to God and it really helped me with how I treat, respect and love my husband as well as my father and brothers.
I just read this . Oh Father I’m a Filipina and I’m on stitches listening to your impressions of the Filipinos . I heard your conversations many times and I don’t get tired listening of it . Thank you so much for such a witness of God’s love ❤️
I was able to spend a weekend with Fr Don while discerning the Marians in Steubenville. He is the real deal…a great confessor, wonderful priest and a man’s man. This was a great show! Thank You and may Mama Mary continue to smile on the both of you.
Coming out of a life of sin , I had experience like that. An evil spirit tried to choke me, I had sleep paralysis many times I prayed and was delivered Amazing Some folks don’t understand what they haven’t experienced I saw spirits, felt them , smelled them and when the Lord saved me I never had that happen again
This may be my favorite interview of all time. Not only is his story just bananas, but the story telling along with it is just out of this world. So good!
Fr. Don is always an inspiration to our whole family and the entire Filipino people ! After hearing him every time, I wish to be a Holy Priest like him. Praise and Thanks be to God and our Mama Mary, the Blessed Virgin Mary !
I've started attending TLM recently in addition to my Syriac parish, and you are so right, Fr Calloway -- it draws the young people who are on fire for God, many of them recently baptized or on the way into the Church. TLM a magnet for conversions, too, because of the linguistic, artistic, and musical beauty, reverence though acts of kneeling and worship, and interiority fostered by the silence. Very different from my participatory Syriac parish, which I love, but I don't see any young people in their teens or twenties attending there, sadly. We need revival there!
You guys! Hilarious together! Thoroughly enjoyed the talk . Bless you both. Fr. Calloway , thank you for yr Fiat. Lucky for us you didn't get sent to the gallows! Matt you are amazing - thank you for what you do.
Mary's prayers and intercession has changed my life so much the past year it's amazing. She truly cares fir us and wants us to be with her son. She's so lovely and in so greatful for her help
Finally Finally !!!! Hooray!! Thank You Lord Jesus. Ive been wanting Father Calloway to be in Pints for ages!!! Soo sooo ecstatic!!! I have to see this on my Telivision. Exodus90 have to sit back for awhile. I gotta watch it on the big screen not on my Phone.
Thanks, Matt. I so enjoy these long format interviews. It gives a much better sense of who the person is, as opposed to what you hear in a sound bite. Thank you Fr. Calloway for the hysterically funny way you recount your conversion experience. I had to stop to get tissues for the laughter tears when you told about receiving the picture of the priest's "grandfather". May God richly bless you both.
My thought about hearing that he got a picture of the priest"s grandfather was: that was a new nugget I heard about that part of his story and perhaps he got that from the priest because he knew his own grandfather was a good intercessor. But then the white beanie comment explained it! He has such a talent for telling his story and God's story that really draws you in. God, please protect this holy priest.
Hi Matt and Fr. Calloway! I’m a Filipina and been listening to this podcast for a while now. Thank you for having Fr. Calloway share his story! I’m so moved by Fr. Calloway’s story! Cheers 🍻 to God, His love happens sometimes in the most mysterious way. More powers to you, Matt as well!
Wonderful interview. His love for St Joseph and Our Lady is simply outstanding. I like Fr's straightforwardness and sense of humour. I ran into his conversion story quite a while and it still amazes me. There are no lost cases in God's eyes. If only there were more priest like him - devoted to God and telling the truth. God bless you, Matt, and God bless Fr Calloway. 🙏🕊️✝️
I am SO happy that you had Fr. Donald on the show! I've been wanting to see this interview for a long time! His love for Mary really speaks to me. Mary saved me too and I so relate to this priest! Thank you! Many prayers for you and your platform!
As I was going through the Consecration, I too questioned "why another Consecration?" During the actual Consecration, we prayed a rosary. I was invited to pray the 5th decade...finding Jesus is the temple. As I prayed, I was pondering the question. The thought came: "Why do we pray 'Fathe, son, Holy Spirit?' Praying to anyone of them prays to all; because they are one. I came to realize that as I pray to Mary and ask for intercession, I am also praying to Joseph because they are one. The answer came, we pray to Father, Son, Holy Spirit, to proclaim the mystery of the Trinity. We pray to Mary & Joseph to proclaim the mystery of the Sacrament of Matrimony.
Love the MIC❣️ As a Marian Helper, I’ve heard Fr Don’s conversion story many times but gotta admit that watching Matt hear it for the first time (and how is that even possible? 😂) made it even more enjoyable! Best hour and 3/4 I’ve spent online in a long time! Definitely sharing!
I’m glad Matt didn’t know anything about father Calloway because I didn’t either so I loved hearing all the details about his conversion story. Super inspiring!
I had to pause what I was doing to say I love what Fr. Calloway said about "butterfly kisses" with the Rosary. I get so distracted at times, but it's beautiful to remember that God loves me, and my Blessed Mother loves me, and appreciates that I am coming to spend time with them.
Fr. Calloway is such a joy. It's so clear to see how beloved he is by our Mother in his testimony and how far he's come from who he was. He's a new St. Louis de Montfort and will be Saint himself some day, I'm sure of it!
Until the Novus Ordo, I had no idea what was happening during the Mass. I love the “new” Mass and our priests are great tying the readings of the day with the gospel. This form does exactly what was intended by the Vatican II. I agree Pope Francis’ words and actions are sometimes distressing, but Jesus is still watching over His Church. Love today’s show.
I agree as a mother with 4 children the Latin mass was so hard to follow. I spent most of the time hushing my children to avoid the stares and I could barely keep up with the abrupt sitting, standing and kneeling. I had high hopes for the Latin mass but it has its disadvantages.
I mean… people didn’t have trouble understanding the mass for the first 1900 years of the Church… and think of the countless saints the traditional Mass produced. and the Novus Ordo isn’t simply the Mass of tradition but in the vernacular language. they created something new and largely man-made, neutered the prayers, and introduced a lot greater room for liturgical abuses. We shouldn’t try to bring the liturgy down to a lower level to conform to modern times. We ought to conform ourselves to the Church and its traditions, not the Church conform to us. We must change and be changed by the Church, not the Church be changed so we don’t have to. It would not be a difficult thing to educate yourself on the traditional Mass by reading through a missal. The intention (perhaps a good-hearted one) of the novus ordo has clearly backfired and our culture reflects it. There is a reason the youth are flocking back to the traditions of the Church while older people are stuck in the 1970s. I do hope you see the perspective of young people or traditionally minded people on this issue. For most of us, we never understood the new mass growing up and it didn’t edify us or create strong roots. It seemed like bad entertainment and no sense of mystery, the Divine, or a Christ-centerdness. And then not until discovering the long-standing traditions of the Church was the fullness of the truth and beauty of the liturgy brought into understanding by many of the younger generation
@@dand8159 I really do appreciate your point of view and think in many cases the Church allowed awful practices to occur in the Mass which erased the ineffable and holy sense
Oops. I agree with you in the main. But now, as a frequent Mass goer, I love the readings and the respect our priests demonstrate at the altar. I like what you replied. Thank you. I am elderly now. I grew up in Mexico. Churches were beautiful and awe-inspiring, but the immense size, the priest mumbling at the altar in Latin, did not provide inspiration. I’ve learned what I was ignorant about, and am in awe and grateful we have both Masses available now.
I grew up Catholic and went to Catholic elementary school. Regardless of the twists and turns my life took to this good place, I was always grateful for the Sisters of St. Joseph who gave me my education. In public high school I learned what a fantastic education these precious women gave me. Did they discipline me-YES-but the discipline instilled in me has gotten me thru some of the most difficult
Times of my life. They instilled in me a love of nature, reading, math, music, art. I thank God almost daily for His generosity in putting me in their care.
I also was instructed by the Sisters of St.Joseph, while attending Catholic school in Philadelphia. I took my experience in a public school to convince me just how superior the curriculum, and the discipline was in Catholic schools. This was back during the 60s, and Catholic schools today are not like what they once were.
Father Calloway thank you for sharing your story, thank you for your book about St Joseph I did my consecration last year. May St Joseph guide us all to be good father's, workers, christians, God bless you. Thank you you both fir this great interview.
Fr Calloway is one of God’s favs for sure!! I have several of his books. There is no one like him as he touches the hearts of many and brings those into a closer relationship with the Blessed Mother and Jesus Christ!
The discussion about fervent young Catholics with the Latin mass: could it be that with their large family desires, the evil one sees that as a resurrection for the Catholic Church so the movement needs to be squelched. The prediction at Fatima about the attack on the family comes to mind. I loved this personal conversation with Fr. Don. A true treasure and blessing. Thank you God, BVM, Fr. Don and Matt. St. Bernadette pray for us
I love Fr. Calloway 👍🤓🙏✝️His conversion story when I first heard it made me laugh and cry and I was blessed to meet him; he celebrated Mass; he is a wonderful Shepard; God bless you Fr. 🙏✝️

He is very orthodox AND traditional, while also seeming so sweet and down to earth. Love him!!!!! Very inspirational.💜💛💙💚🧡
The consecration to St Joseph book is amazing. Myself and my husband used his book and we felt like we are now part of St Joseph's family. He is our Spiritual Father.

I've listened to Fr. Calloways story sooo many times....but I could listen a million more times. The ways God works are amazing !
What a fantastic interview. You need to have him back.
Yeah! And next time talk more about St. Joe please guys! ;-)
@@asiaaviator5353 have you found Fr. Don"s talks about his journey to write the consecration to St. Joseph book in UA-cam? Good stuff. Several are out there. Blessings!
@@bajone02 yes, love it!
Awesome interview! I never tire of hearing Fr. Don's conversion story. It was after hearing it for the first time a number of years ago that inspired me to join the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. Thanks, Matt, for having him on your program. God bless you!
Wowwwww. God bless your ministery.
Such a bomb interview! So interesting.
Please learn TLM, Fr Calloway. It is the treasure of our Holy Mother church.
As a Filipino, it never fails to make me laugh when Fr. Don compares Filipina women to high ranking spec ops units as Catholics.
edit: oh my goodness the amount they talk about Filipinos in this episode is a lot (and they'll all true). God bless you both.
Loved how serious but FUN this interview was. If Father Calloway ever had a biopic made about him, please let Will Ferrell play his part!
Is it prayed daily?
Wow, best podcast to date! This priest speaks my language
find his Coming Home interview fron 06 era, it's absolutely hilarious 😂

I just read this . Oh Father I’m a Filipina and I’m on stitches listening to your impressions of the Filipinos . I heard your conversations many times and I don’t get tired listening of it . Thank you so much for such a witness of God’s love ❤️
As a Filipino, everything Father is saying about us is true lol. Great testimony! God bless both of you!
I was able to spend a weekend with Fr Don while discerning the Marians in Steubenville. He is the real deal…a great confessor, wonderful priest and a man’s man. This was a great show! Thank You and may Mama Mary continue to smile on the both of you.
Padre Donald kudos from the Philippines! God Bless!
Dear Fr. Calloway Pls pls come back to Japan we are waiting for your coming back.
God bless you and the wonderful work of you two are doing
Coming out of a life of sin , I had experience like that. An evil spirit tried to choke me, I had sleep paralysis many times
I prayed and was delivered
Amazing
Some folks don’t understand what they haven’t experienced
I saw spirits, felt them , smelled them and when the Lord saved me
I never had that happen again
TLM.. Go for it, Father!!!! Please!!!!🙏🏻 You are still young! I’ll pray for you! Glory be to God!
This may be my favorite interview of all time. Not only is his story just bananas, but the story telling along with it is just out of this world. So good!
Father Calloway, thank you for sharing your story! You are SOOO HUMAN. God bless you and your ministry.

His story is amazing. He’s hilarious! Love it. God bless.
22:03 "He's my Joseph." -Fr Calloway on his dad... tears me up. God bless and protect you, Fr. Calloway! You are a blessing
Love Fr. Calloway. A true disciple of Christ.
Fr Calloway is one person who’s really brought me to Our Lady
Wonderful priest with a wild back story, gives sinners like me hope. God bless him and Jesus's beautiful vigin mother 🙏
I almost fell off my chair laughing when you said the priest gave you a picture of Jesus, a rosary and a picture of his grandfather. Oh my goodness!!
I have read all of Fr. Calloway’s books. He is so down to earth but such a scholar ! God Bless you Father! 🙏
Father Calloway never ceases to amaze me! Heard his story a million times and every time seems like the first time. God bless you both!
Fr. Calloway is such a joy. It's so clear to see how beloved he is by our Mother in his testimony and how far he's come from who he was. He's a new St. Louis de Montfort and will be Saint himself some day, I'm sure of it!
Hello from Ireland ....you two great men!
I *LOVED* this!!!! I so love Fr. Calloway. What an amazing story he has. I never tire of hearing it 😁 Thanks Matt‼️‼️
Fr. Calloway was quite the handsome lad at 17!❣️. So glad to hear his story for the first time. 👍🙏
Such unfortunate naïveté!!
This man is wonderful.
In ‘91 I went to Bosnia and was so profound an experience!!! It’s the fruits that matters!!
@@LUIS-ox1bv I'm sure they had you finished the 9 First Friday of the Months and 9 First Saturdays of the Month?????
Never tired of hearing Father Calloway’s life story.
Trads are like an iceberg, you only see the small tip and are completely unaware of the massive base underneath. God bless 🙏
I can never get enough of Father Don Calloway’s conversion story!
Oh my gosh! I’m so excited to see Fr. Don Calloway on PWA. Loved his book ‘Consecration to St. Joseph’.
Can’t wait to watch this show!😃
Fr Calloway is amazing...his books and conversion story have been extremely helpful in my life.
Thank you for having Fr. Calloway on your show . This was so good . I love his sense of humor and how he tells his story .

❤ Someday, I want to meet the Good Father!!!!
Of the many videos of Fr. Don's conversion story, this is my favorite. I absolutely love the banter between the 2 of you.
This is such a great episode. So much humor!
Just what I needed to listen to today for so many reasons. ❤️
Wonderful show, gentlemen - and thank you, Fr. Calloway, for speaking at ICMC this year! I'm starting my consecration to St. Joseph on the 15th!
Thanks to Fr. Don I began to pray the Rosary every morning. Mama Mary, thank you for all the good you're doing in me every day. God bless you all.
