Which suv do you think rides better the atlas or jeep grand cherokee?
They did a great job updating the interior
Agreed👏🏻
Agreed. Bcuz it was horrible
It wasn't horrible. Just outdated. Now the new one is updated.@@LuvHurtsEitherWay69
Really wish VW would stop doing the fake exhaust thing, it doesn't even look convincing. The rest of the styling looks fantastic.
Awesome!! I’ve been waiting months for this. Very much appreciated!
I love the new interior design of the Volkswagen Atlas and I like it better than the outgoing model 😍🔥
You guys do a very nice job introducing the vehicles. Keep it up.
My wife and I have a 2021 Atlas Cross Sport. We have the VR-6 3.6L V-6 with 8-speed automatic. Ours is the SE / technology package. We absolutely LOVE it !
Went to test drive one and was SOLD! The drive was so impressive. Felt like i was driving a luxury vehicle. For the size of the vehicle it felt so light. Love that it uses regular gas. The interior was beautiful. In Canada the highline is 60K 😢😢😢😢
Just purchased a 2024 Cross Sport. Traded in a 2014 Cadillac Luxury SRX. Interior car space was my main motivation for purchasing this vehicle.. it totally delivers. I decided to go with a base model because I did not want a power back door hatch, as I had to replace that on my Cadillac to the tune of $2400 due to water damage, runoff from the moon roof. That is a common problem with the Cadillacs.. biggest drawback in the base model is ambient lighting. There’s not much of it in this vehicle so it’s rather dark inside. The ride is unbelievable. I don’t notice much of a difference between my six-cylinder and this upgraded four-cylinder engine. It has quite a bit of giddyup and go. Although the ride is not as smooth as in my Cadillac. The headlights package that it comes with standard is quite amazing overall so far been very happy with this purchase and enjoyed this video as I didn’t realize the Touch Bar on the dash was censored which is a nice feature biggest drawback on it it’s not lit so at night in the car you can’t see it if that makes sense. Thanks for the video, helped me figure out a few more things about my vehicle.
Congrats on your new Atlas!
My first Volkswagen Atlas SUV I can afford.
OK guys, I just subbed. I have seen your reviews before but this one sold me. I put a deposit down on one of these and can't wait for it. I like how much time you spent on the infotainment screen. Other reviewers just complain about the lack of buttons but you guys showed how it all works. I intend to make this vid a favorite so I can refer back to it if I get lost...you know us old people.
Fantastic! Welcome to the Car Confections family! And congrats on your upcoming Atlas!
Good to see the return to button activation of the steering wheel functions. The infotainment is maddening when you drive. I traded in my 2022 GTI Autobahn for a car with tactile buttons for environmental and other functions. The infotainment looks great but it gets frustrating when driving. You’ll get volume changes when trying to adjust temperature and vice Versa.
Can you do the Tiguan 2024 next? I'm still undecided between the two. Thanks for the video.
Once it becomes available, absolutely!
Hi! Wednesday the 24th of January I traded my 2021 Atlas Cross Sport for the new SEL Premium R Line, I love it. I loved my other one, but I love this one more. I just wished I could have gotten it in flat gray like my first one. But I did get a silver mist color which is actually beautiful. I came to UA-cam to find out how to operate the different functions. Your video was very helpful. Thanks for making the videos. And also, I subscribed to your channel. I figure it's the least I could do as you put out a good informative video.
Welcome to the Car Confections family! And congrats on your new Atlas!
Loved the review so much I bought one.
Congrats on your new Atlas!
I used it for a drive from nyc to Vermont. Amazing car and really comfortable
The refresh looks great but goodness, the 0-60 test looked like it was barely moving and sounding like the engine was stressed like a Nissan Stanza from 1986. 😳
Very thorough videos as always. Would love a measurement from the back of the second row to the trunk edge. It would show how much realistic room there is with the trunk. Most people dont drive with all the seats down all the time. Especially would be great on videos of 3 row vehicles! Keep up the great work fellas.
Thanks! We started doing that in more recent reviews 👍
My favorite Volkswagen SUV I wanted to buy.
I just got mine last Sunday all black the R line premium oí love it.
Congrats on your new Atlas!
Hey, guys! Where in New York was this filmed? Also, did I miss the sound play of the stereo system?
Thanks for the excellent review. The top R line trim you tested is amazing and very Audi-esque. I will test drive for sure.
Thanks for watching!
They did a nice job updating it…interior is more luxurious. The engine bay could house a 12 cylinder, there’s so much room. VW should have boosted the 2 liter, with power like the Golf R.
Wow quite an improvement over prior gen
Is the camera in the front are recording?
Thankyou for not only putting the midrow seats down but also measuring the total length for us. I was trying to find out how many inches 77cubic feet was but I couldn’t find an an answer on google, but then u guys came in clutch and did that so Thankyou
Glad we could help! We now do that in all our SUV reviews 👍
@3:03 I find it disappointing that with a full-width taillight signature, the brake lights are merely tiny segments on the very outer edges.
I've seen some Toyota and Lexus offerings that commit this same lighting faux pas.
Yeah those are some tiny taillights
Yup, the RAV4 has dots as their taillights lol
What about padel shifters or triptonic manual shifting?
I bought the 23 of this thing because of that sloped back. I went in looking for a v6 regular and left with a 2.0 cross sport 😂 it’s crazy there’s a lot of cars out there that don’t really accommodate tall people either. This happens to be the most comfortable vehicle I’ve driven.
I'm looking to buy this week actually. At 5'11, do you think I'll be comfortable with this model?
@@aux_cayescherie definitely
@@wadeepperson6906 Awesome! Thank you!
I have a 2024 its great.
VW needs to bring back the VR6 ASAP...
Omg!!! Mason is driving. Talk about a change HA-HA… I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in your videos. I dunno about this, I’m confused now HA-HA… 😂 just kidding, you guys do good revives & detailed. Great job, but Mason is driving tho!!!! 😮
Thanks! Haha
Does it have remote start
If they put the Golf R motor in the Cross Sport the word SPORT would mean something instead of 7seconds to 60 MPH. Come on VW start bringing some of the European vehicles to North America I for one would like to have the Tiguan R in my garage beside my Golf R.
It’s very nice! It’s a great price! I like the blue
Kingfisher Blue is nice
Oh, and I know you have only sat in and did a walk around of the new Sante Fe so a comparison might not be fair yet without a Sante Fe test drive but which of the two between this beautiful Cross Sport and the aforementioned 2024 Sante Fe would you own? I’ve only owned VW in my 30 years of driving. Hyundai has a bad “cheap” rap to from back in the day. But the new Sante Fe looks amazing! I have fallen in love with the Black Ink Edition which is black on black on black. The interior completely monochromatic black. Your thoughts so far or opinion? Thanks!
From first impressions, the interior of the new Santa Fe is even nicer than this one which is already very nice. So far, probably leaning Santa Fe because of that but will definitely need to speed time behind the wheel to actually decide
@@CarConfections I have that more info of the Sante Fe will come likely in November at the LA Autoshow. Tons of videos showing hundreds of them already in Korea. When would be your guess we would see them arrive here in North America? Thanks.
Santa Fe doesn't even come close. Plus hyundais are being stolen by the kia boyz and engines are turning to fire
I really wanted this car but after seeing a 52k price tag I went with the 23 Mitsubishi eclipse cross sel with touring package and I absolutely love it🤗 its their fully loaded package I've gotten lots of compliments and what you get for the money is wonderful its nice and roomy and drives very well 😊 the atlas is definitely nice for sure but saving 17k and that's before taxes was added to the atlas was way more nicer 😅
52k is a heavy price tag. You made the right choice in my opinion.
@@S5King7 I agree 💯😅
Its up there but thats because they are related to audi. You are getting audi quality in a lower price. But Mitsubishi is even further low end. Still you got yourself a nice car with the eclipse cross. I sat in it but its not good for 6 foot people. Thats where the atlas sport shines.
@jm7720 have you seen that new special edition blue Honda Pilot? I think it's also 50k
@@japanwatchconnection Well I'll cross that road if it happens in the meantime I'll enjoy my ride in my cross and I love it ☺️ I also purchased a new outlander in 2018 and still loving it as well haven't had any problems with it at all not 1 that also play a part in me getting the cross!! But thanks for the heads up 🙂
I really like that new electric blue color. I don't like 2 liters though. Would be really nice with a turbo VR6 or better yet, NA W12.
Not trying to be arrogant, but 269 HP for such a big and heavy SUV is a showstopper. Audi Q8 is similar size and weight SUV with 335 HP which is a bare minimum for this size SUV. Audi Q5 has 261 HP and way less heavy, but not fun to drive since it has only 261 HP which is almost the same as VW Atlas with 269 HP, hence Atlas is not fun to drive. Audi SQ5 is different story as it has more powerful engine, which unfortunately VW considered not to install on the Atlas models. To me, Atlas is a good looking SUV with super cheap interior and super weak performance considering its size.
Yet another clueless commenter. Go check the weights of the Q5 versus the Atlas. They are nearly identical. I currently own a 2022 Q5 Sportback and is plenty peppy for everyday driving. The bigger difference is the DSG in the Audi versus the standard 8 speed in the Atlas.
Oh please. Dude this is not a sports car. Crikey o riley this beats most SUVS in its segment. Audi Q8 is a damn car not an suv.
Again, atlas not fun to drive. After all, it's not just getting around. Test drive 350hp suv, it's like standard vs. HD TV - you can't come back.
Clueless, hm, "apparently" since I commute on sq5.
Liked atlas though it's cheap inside, but ended up with sq5 cause atlas is too weak and q8 is too expensive (>$80k in US).
@@jm7720 Q8 is a SUV, just like the rest of the Q line
Would it be possible to provide metric units as well when mentioning any dimensions, even if only as subtitles?
Google
Would be nice to add sound readings at 70 mph highway speeds. Could be noticeable from 55mph.
You signature reading of the Atlas 2024 shows 56.5 on a rough road and 61 on this cross sport... the built quality of the cars should basically be identical?
couldn't find an update yet on your website for a new reading
They have not been restested in Kentucky quite yet, but stay tuned!
i saw one yesterday in person at the mall i had to stop and stare and i told my aunt a volkswagen when did they start making nice cars again very nice body style i'm defintely looking into this car when i/m car looking next year Cadillac xt5 might be off the list after seeing this
does the R-Line also have the VW emblem enlightened? on the official VW website it says it doesn't for the highest trim which would be so weird
The VW emblem doesn''t light up on the lowest trim but when you move up to the one with the moon roof it does
85" is pretty great! Did you happen to measure to the back of the 2nd row (vs to the back of the 1st row)? That's an important number for me since we usually have at least three people in the vehicle, meaning I need the 2nd row seats up. Could I guess that it's about 60" or 5 feet? Thanks very much for the review.
Thanks! We don't measure that but that's a good estimate
Another video review said a 6ft+ person would fit in second row since the roof slopes down
@jsfbay1 ACCURATE!! I have 6ft plus men on my husband's side including my husband who comfortable fit in the back seat and my 5' 9" daughter who has leg room in the bag with the front seat all adjusted all the way back!!🤩
Is this the Kingfisher Blue? It doesn't look like this on the VW website.
I have the cross sport SE with tech and I feel the ventilated seats are so weak... I really don't feel them :S
You have the volume controls in button form on the steering wheel. You couldn't get them in a more convenient and safer place.
Does the panoramic sunroof open up?
I believe it does open
Looking at buying this model looks very sharp & yes it has the Audi look because my son had one. Would like a little bit bigger turbo or twin turbo for more power. My wife and I have been looking at this
Time to buy the 2023 for the right price….
Fantastic review though I’m not the biggest fan of the lack of physical climate and volume controls!😸
Do you still have the option to turn off auto start stop?
Yes
Yes but you have to do it every time you start your drive. Wish it was a preset as a driving choice. It gets annoying doing it every time when you first start the car before you start to drive.
@@cheripatrick4192 Same as every other manufacturer out there. I dont know of a single one that you can permanently turn off without using a tuner.
Will the 2024 model have the blacked out version?
There is a blacked out version ( black vehicle, black wheels )
@@jm7720 all the trim is still chrome, it is not blacked out
Id rather get a 2023 Ford explorer ST
Ford is crap and over-priced
My friend 🎉🎉🎉
They use Zelinsky for one purpose to get rid of dissatisfied people and the government is aimed and made to solve economic problems by setting up a war and Ukraine another picture to help to get back in power and let the war get rid of pensioners and all debts and unnecessary people once again gets rid of problems, and we people interfere with the rich and incumbent president to manage the war. The president and neither side went to the ceasefire and it means that the genocide in two points was organized, the war helps the economy in the West and was quoted in a Russian newspaper. People have become dumber and do not understand what is happening. And the authorities do not change that they brought to genocide not guilty neither one side nor the other. Media say one thing, victims say another, and presidents do not want to hear another. They want to block the world from others, block UA-cam and continue to gossip about what is good and what is bad, that power, that we achieved this genocide by the hands of the West at the expense of the president , we did not think and no one thought, and do not want to think only lives are wasted when there is no logic of war and everyone is to blame. Let's change everything and stop touching Russia and become a genocide, UA-cam will be blocked in Russia, and at the expense of theft and deceiving the people, this is normal and tells the truth, this is extremism. The war is for the West to support the war, and for politicians to make money on the death of their people and buildings. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Confused between Atlas and Pathfinder…. Any suggestions??
They're both really good in a lot of ways. Wed suggest going for a test drive yourself because the turbo 4 vs V6 is one of the biggest differences between them
@@CarConfections I did that yesterday. Pathfinder V6 was smooth, was not making much sound on quick accelerating, while in Atlas, I can hear the engine is making some efforts . But the handling and driving dynamics of Atlas was better in the city roads, you don’t feel like you are driving a huge suv. Interiors are better in Atlas, feels much up scale, but in pathfinder you get more feature in same price tag. My only concern will be, can the turbo engine give similar performance on uphill or while quick overtaking in highway.
Atlas is fine@@WiseTreee
It's good for trips hurricanes etc
That window sill is about shoulder height!
I really despise the high belt line trend. I thought VW was defying it. The Taos & GTI certainly does, then only VWs I’ve driven.
Hes a small person. Any car will look like that on him
Nonsense if you are tall its fine@@katiecannon8186
I maybe would buy it but I just rather go for a Audi then a Volkswagen
Comparable audi is the Q8 and its 80 grand
fog lights please!
52 fully loaded is really up there what class is this even in
They should have retained some of the dials for driving controls. Everything on a touch screen is distracting!
No thats old school. Get with the times
Ford needs to do a Cross Sport Explorer ST..
Nice🇸🇦
Interesting that VW has remote start and Audi doesn't.
Not based on the same platform as the Q8. It’s built on the same platform as the Golf. Lol
Get the motor tuned by Honda technicians and I'll probably be interested
I claim it who need a foreign when you have this look what you get for the price ❤
My only worry is VW turbo engine because people had problems with their engines before in Canada 🇨🇦
I agree. I steer clear of turbocharged vehicles. I'll wait to see what the Mazda CX 70 looks like
Unless you plan on keeping it for donkeys years turbo is fine for 100,000@@lisaw7633
@@lisaw7633 It is a turbo motor as well.
Popo 🚔. be dazzled by that color 🤭
What a handsome looking car... I love it! Why can Volkswagen make REMOTE START,..And AUDI STILL doesn't offer it!!!????
Sorry fellas, I’m not getting any Urus vibes here.
I love it i wished i could afford to trade in my 2022 Tiguan R line black only 6700 miles on it for this 😂
Put that engine in the Tiguan; have no need for the larger Atlas.
They overdid it with that rear end which was my favorite feature of the previous generation. That taillight bar is so ugly and unnecessary considering it doesn’t even light up. It will be expensive to replace if it breaks.
No it looks even better now. It does light up. Oh dear you really need to pay attention in class.
Unfortunate about VW shoving that anemic 2.0 liter engine into such a huge vehicle. They need to offer the 3.0 liter V6 from the Audi as an option. This vehicle size needs to START at 300HP and offer a 400HP option. I have the Tiguan with this engine (even further derated to 187HP) and that engine is just adequate on the much smaller Tiguan. Not so this Atlas. Also the fake exhausts need to go. Just stop. It's ridiculous.
so... how much is the audi?
Oh bummer! Capacitive touch = no go for me. Oh well.
I'm telling ya 😅
Dude there are buttons on the wheel DUH!
@@jm7720 Yes, DUH. I don't see HVAC controls on the wheel. Of course there are buttons for volume and track/channel/etc.
You all know this isn’t on the same platform as the Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini?
Umm yeah... If any of those models handled like this then they'd be bankrupt real fast 😂
Hardly. Its a damn good car.@@CarConfections
You never said what was the 0-60 figure
everything except seating surfaces and steering wheel is vinyl, not leather. Other than that great video
Right... It's just too tedious to say "fake leather" 100 times. Thanks!
@@CarConfections I think most people genuinely don’t know the difference, which is a shame
Day 3 of asking for 2023 Nissan Rogue vs Toyota RAV4 🙃💖
Toyota if u value your money
Nice review guys. It's appropriately powered. I've owned Audi and VW for turbocharge and AWD.
Thanks!
Its made by the same people who make audi so yep
What would you personally go for? A Jeep Grand Cherokee or this Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport?
Personally, I prefer the look and space of the Grand Cherokee
@@CarConfections thank you!
Hi there! First
Audi luxury???? That 2.0 liter turbo 4-banger looks absolutely lost in that engine bay😂😂😂😂
The door is tooo tall, reaches to the head of the driver. You can't see anything on your vehicle side and its like a big blind spot and will cause alot of mistakes and accidents due that
Only if they are a short ass
Nope, just nope. Less piano black, great! Why are they taking basic buttons away and WHERE are the coupons boys? They need the GTI engine in this speaking of, are you reviewing the 20th Anniversary Golf R?
The Altas has a detuned Golf R engine, which is to say that it is basically an upturned GTI engine.
Second comment. Hehe
That thing looks cartoonish with those wheels. These things may be updated, but still...no thanks. Our 2021 SEL R-Line is so underwhelming and the updates just don't convince me that it's any better. We should have gotten the Telluride.
Doug you look cartoonish. The 2021 is words apart.
@jm7720 Oh. You've changed my mind with your scholarly reply. 🙄 The new Atlas looks stupid, and I'm sure it has many of the same issues I've grown to dislike about mine.
Stop saying audi we get it
I wish vw would bring back the tourage back to the USA and get make this cheap car go away
269 hp for a car that size is a joke
jetta engine in an embarrasingly ugly suv monstrosity
