Vabessa, great to see you back in the woods again. Wow, that whistle really is loud.....it brought the helicopter in no time at all !! Regardless of any other equipment, I always take my trusty 30 year old Victorinox Swiss Champ and a small compass. I'll often have a larger knife with me but the champ does it all and more in the woods (unless i want to produce much firewood) and the office and is my primary knife with its own pouch containing a firesteel, compass, lighter, string, fishing hooks, sharpening stone, waterproof pencil, comb (for when I had a beard !) and mirror (for signalling as well as the beard !). Some lengths of paracord and often, a small tarp/poncho just large enough to cover me. It can fit in a pocket or on the belt in a pouch and with the paracord and some wooden pegs made using the knife, can provide a quick shelter, separation from wet ground or as a rain cape. Like you, I'll usually carry a water bottle too., certainly in my main pack. Sometimes this is augmented with a small water filter.
The value of an easy to put on equipment belt is rarely talked about so it is great that you've done this video. It is the one multipurpose tool that seems to get overlooked. I have several including one I use just for gardening. Everything is at my fingertips yet nothing is in my way. Perfect!
Vanessa, you showed some really cool bushcraft tools in your kit; all very essential. I did chuckle at the drill bit, but I’m sure it’s my own shortsightedness. Not something we want to think of, but there was no mention of carrying contact or identifying information. Great video; valuable information. 👏🏽👍🏽
First off Vanessa your English has really improve so much. I love your videos so much. Congratulations on the birth of your son. Now to your question, I'm not a bushcrafter or a you tuber, but I do carry a equipment belt when I go out in the woods or camping. On my belt I carry my axe, which I have several different sizes, my condor bushlore knife, my leatherman wave multi tool and a 2 quart army water container. Like I said I love your videos and I hope that you and your family are doing well through this pandemic and I'm so happy to see you out in your woods in Bavaria making videos. Stay safe, love you. (Friends) not any weird. Lol
Hi Vanessa. A very nice demonstration! Every tradesmen knows the value of having the right tool at the right time. To have the hands free and the ability to quickly grab that item you need quickly and not have to pick it up from the ground every time is such a convenience you never want to go back. I have a saying, ‘organize or agonize’. Your tool belt clearly shows me that you think the same. Just Great!!
Thanks for the great list of essentials. I like to carry some minimum first aid plus a tourniquet. In Australia we also need to carry a compression bandage for snake bites or injuries. Nail clippers are really useful and some paracord dongles for your leathermans or other small items. Just some more ideas. Have to be limits of course. So nice to see you back into your regular videos.
The red light is actually to prevent "night blindness" white light when turned off at night will leave you blinded for some time but a red light will not. Sailors always use red lights on the compass for night sailing. LOVE the videos
Beautiful education regarding your equipment. You look incredibly amazing. Love your videos. Your boys are blessed by your love, education and respect of nature. Take care Vanessa. Blessings always to you and your precious family.🙏
Wild Woman Vanessa👍👍 Well done explanation of what you carry on your bush belt. Every situation is different and will determine what is needed to be included during preparation, but some items are essential. Looks like you got it all covered nicely for your needs. Great video as always. Enjoy!
Really like this belt version Vanessa, i love the way it has evolved from all your other versions , you have adapted it to your use, where you are , where your going and all close to hand, fantastic video , thank you 🤗🤗👌👍
Good video.......good rationale........good advice. I would only add a small first aid kit or small cut kit. You use a lot of sharps in the field (knife, ax, saw) and you want to be prepared for those moments. Stay safe, stay well and keep the campfires burning.
Vanessa your array of survival equipment is totally mind boggling. How many of these do you really need. Please make us another video show us bare minimum that you would take...I love watching your videos Vanessa ❤from Texas
Hello VANESSA, well organized !For myself I use a chest pouch because I don’t like having stuff beating my thighs. The French special forces rules are : usual life in the bag: mattress, sleeping bag, usual drink etc. Chest Riggs and belts: fighting stuffs. Letal on the side of your strong arm ( pistol, knife ) help for weapons on the other side (ammos, leatherman, flashlight eventually); and pockets are for survival (purify straw, head lamp, folder knife, survival blanket, light ghillie to hide efficiently, lighter tourniquet, morphine etc.)
Hi, Vanessa, to answer your question: 'not sharp' = blunt or dull. A tool or blade or point can be blunt, but a worn cutting edge can be 'dull'. Hope that helps.
Hello, nice presentation. We have a common element, the whistle. For a year, I have chosen the chest bag. I put on a survival poncho, a Swiss army knife, a filter straw, etc ... there is everything so that I can get out of it in the event of a problem with my backpack. For cutting tools, and particularly for knives, with fixed blades, I am more for blades of 7 to 10 centimeters which are more discreet. I specify that I do not do heavy work in the forest like making a camp or other. See you soon.
Hello Vanessa, it is very good to see you again. Thank you for sharing this very informative video. I like the way you set up your equipment belt. All the best of good things for you and you family. Please stay healthy. 🤗
I really enjoyed listening to you. I used to spend a lot of time in the Serra Mountains every weekend for a whole year hiking and eating trout. Some of the wild life was very aggressive a lot of bear and cougars. They are mostly nocturnal and easily frightened by candle lantern swinging on the end of my fishing rod all night the flashing shadows from the swaying lantern kept them away from my camp site. I of course pulled all my food up by a rope in a tree. The raccoons were real pests and not afraid of anything. Even if I hit them square in the head with a rock they shook it off. What I found was very effective was a sling shot wrist rocket folding model. I broke apart some old paper 12 ga. 00 shells and put the pellets in the watch pocket of my jeans. The lead pellets are about .33" or 8 mm in dia. and hit with real authority at only half power. The raccoons would jump about 4 foot in the air leave and not return. I did not pull the sling to full draw because I did not want to leave a pellet in them to get infected. So I recommend that you get your self a good folding sling shot learn to shoot it offset from you line of vision so that if the band ever breaks you won't get hit in the eye.
" You can never have enough Knives" love it Vanessa. My kit includes 25ft of 12lb fishing line and some more hooks, and the same amount of .018" brass wire for snares, but your kit is awesome!
Vanessa, 💕 Thank you for sharing 💕 your belt gear information with us. It’s always difficult to decide what to take and what is necessary 🇩🇪 XO’s Have a Fabulous Weekend
All very good suggestions! I think tools such as axe, saw, and multitool often get left out. I also like to bring a water bladder. Finally, I recommend suspenders, or braces, for the belt so it won't sag or pull on your waist. Braces also allows you to hang the tools from a branch, stick, or rope with all of the tools easy to reach.
I am so glad you are back. you could add a small first aid kit. I always have a small Wenger or Victorinox pocket knife that has a tweezer. It can be very handy for slivers or thorns.
Nice show and tell of your equipment that you use!!! You are definitely well prepared for just about anything! And yes, one’s belt should be customized to one’s need and/or situations. Keep up the good work! Love your videos!
So Cool. I love Ya! You are so cute and I love your accent. I enjoy all your posts. I hope the little one is doing well. Your Always a pleasure to watch. Take care and I will continue to watch all your content.
Where you been hiding welcome back your videos are great I’ve missed you you take care now and be safe out there when your camping keep them coming UA-cam would be lost with out you here
Great video it is educational to get ideas and information from someone who actually has experience and uses the equipment, Having done construction for many years I know how useful the right tool belt can be, different tools but Sam principal.
Ouch! That was a very loud whistle! Vanessa, it looks like you are ready for anything. Thanks for a very detailed video! I only wear an 8 inch knife, bear bells (we have black bears), and some nylon cord. I think you are right on cue with your equipment that is variable with the environment whether forest or mountain.
I love your videos and your English! I hope your boys are picking it up too as they are with you so much:) I do occasional camping, but never have done bushcraft and no longer have the mobility to do so, but have many ideas if I ever need to have some skills. Your gear is awesome and you had me pegged, my stun gun is in the bottom of my purse. I am moving it to the outside pocket now. The tip on the credit cards repair items is pure genius and would be a good addition to have on hand in my purse for a lot of things that can happen.
Hello my friend! I really enjoyed this video, I am always looking in your videos to see what is on your belt for each trip into nature. Your belt is very well thought out, very well equipped, thank you for showing us a video with great tips and ideas! To help a little with some translations (your English is very good, my friend, I have no issues understanding you 😊): As some others have said, "not sharp knife" = "dull knife" in English. A few others are "Hook" or "fish hook" is the thing for catching the fish that you put the worm on, and "floss" or "dental floss" is the string for cleaning your teeth (I always carry a spool of it myself, it really is great cordage when needed 👍😁), compass is indeed the correct word. I agree, one can never have enough or too many knives 👍 I also have one of the TOPS B.O.B. Fieldcraft knives, it is a very good knife, and I have and love a carbon and black coated APO1 (original, not the S or H) knife from Lilly, awesome knife! 😁 I do not have an equipment belt, but I have been considering very hard about putting one together. This was a great video, my friend! I hope you and family are doing well and enjoying the weekend, see you next video 😊✌
Valuable tips about an equipment belt. And of course it will be better with Swedish stuff. A Gränsfors axe is excellent, and there are a lot of other things.👍
Truly a well put together belt, only ur experience was guide for choosing items to put on it ,also mite I say u look great, n hope ur family is well n safe,ok dear see u later

Excellent video Vanessa - You just covered about everything one would need on a bushcraft belt - The only thing I would add is a small first aid kit with a small alcohol pad sealed in an aluminum wrapper( usually sold to clean eyeglasses ) and a space blanket ( foil sheet ) - That is what they are called here in the US - Otherwise, a very informative video what one would need to put on there belt.

Nice to see you back and seemingly more comfortable with English. Sehr nett. And still with the indication of good character, "if you want".
I like all your videos Thank you.

You're very well equipped, really nice gear. Great video , as usual. Keep up the great work.
Nice video Vanessa, my best wishes to you and the family. 😌
I would include a small mirror in this kit, it would be very useful if something got in the eye.
Also for emergency signaling
Vanessa you are an amazing woman. Love your videos.

Good and intelligent choice of equipment. 👍
I shed a tear when you moved the belt to the tree. More seriously though, great idea. Thanks for the content.
What you carry on your belt is pretty impressive. You have given me some ideas for making my own belt. Thank you for sharing .
Vanessa, your videos are always interesting, thank you!
Hi thanks for another good video
Great stuff. I personally prefer a small daypack. I don't have the hips to hold a tool belt AND keep my pants up! 😎🧐
Nice show and tell of your equipment that you use!!! You are definitely well prepared for just about anything! And yes, one’s belt should be customized to one’s need and/or situations. Keep up the good work! Love your videos!

An equipment belt makes items handy or easy access. Thanks for sharing. English word for not sharp is dull.
Good clip!

Equipment belts are good💜😏
Valuable tips about an equipment belt. And of course it will be better with Swedish stuff. A Gränsfors axe is excellent, and there are a lot of other things.👍
you have professional equipment to stay in the woods and face all the work that is necessary. Hello good evening👍👋
Exelente video, y muy bien esplicado.. Todo se necesita en el bosque para disfrutar de la naturaleza
Nice load out Vanessa ❤️
أنتي دائمآ رائعة 😊 👍 👏
Truly a well put together belt, only ur experience was guide for choosing items to put on it ,also mite I say u look great, n hope ur family is well n safe,ok dear see u later
Nice set up
Great video.
I am trying to get a utility belt together myself… This was a very good video and I will put similar things on my belt. I have been watching you for a while and just subscribed. I really enjoy your videos and your cute little family
Hi Vanessa, I don't recall seeing any water 💦 purification systems what do you like to use in that area? 😁
Hey Vanessa! It’s so nice to see u again, bless u and ur family. U are a true inspiration to us all. That’s about what I carry. What do u use to start fires with? I have water proof matches and I use “Blackbeard” thread to start my fire. It lites in Rain waterproof, windproof, and will not degrade. One bar will last for several fires. Hello Tom! Yes, it is one of the impotants things! I renember that I forget it when I was outside..
Best wishes,
Vanessa
Great video love.i had to work passed 3 days. Just now catching up.❤
Your tool belt is more like a workshop! One thing I do with my flashlight, if i dont expect to use it quickly, is I put the battery in backwards. If it doesn't have the lockout feature, this will prevent it from switching on without your knowledge. I may have missed it, but you can carry a bit of bleach for purifying water. You have to wait for a short time after treatment before drinking, but you only need a few drops to kill the bacteria and virus that might be lurking in the water. Stay wild Vanessa!
Oh, and make sure the bleach isn't scented!
Thanks for the info 👍
very smart belt with all your tools in it for safety and emergancy...and you can take it too your cabin in the woods...
Well done!
Very nice EDC kit, I enjoy these type of videos, maybe add a 550 cord bracelet for your wrist and large handkerchief big enough to make as a sling that you can also drape around your neck or over your head to keep cool ? and a needle for splinters and safety pin and maybe an analog divers watch . I also like your idea of carrying dental floss.
Good video 👍
Hi vanessa good to see you again..
