MGSV - Chaff Dispersal Effect on Sahelanthropus (Hellbound)

If you call in a chaff dispersal fire support on the area at the start of Venom's escape from Sahelanthropus, it stuns the robot for long enough to allow an escape to the LZ. The first LZ is too close and the chopper won't land, so you have to move it to the far LZ to get on board immediately. Too bad you don't have chaff grenades like Snake did at Shadow Moses.
This only works in mission 12 because without a pilot, Sahelanthropus must use its electronic detection suite for targeting and attacking Snake. When Eli is present, the need for electronic tracking isn't there since the pilot can track targets himself.

If they were able to do the full sahelanthropus rematch in kingdom of the flies, it'd be cool if you could *technically* fulton sahelanthropus.... by stunning it with chaff and using two helicopters to essentially flip it upside down,

The truck that is often there right next to Boss after the cutscene is the best way to escape Sahel, put emmerich in, get in and drive to far lz and you should lose him.

You still get S rank based on time. You can also use reflex as much as you want and still get S rank.
Chicken hat and infinity bandanna you wont get S rank, thats hard coded in the game.

When going for a s rank on this mission its better to do it once you have the CGM25 and just fight sahelanthropus at the base camp, it eventually gets disabled after you put enough rockets into it.

Its okay, I've been playing MGSV since Ground Zeroes came out in 2014 and I didn't notice the chaff support either.

I'm mid game and thought Psycho Mantis was controlling Sahelanthropus. Why would chaff work on it?

Sally has to use its electronic suites without a human pilot, in order to do its thing. "Mantis" just gives the body animation. The electronics in the bot are what track you in this mission.
