@@Hvitlys In liquid form...you can buy Bit E oil at the local Pharmacy or Big Box store...or...open a Vit E capsule and apply the contents....If you have really chapped lips...use several times a day also
i've been doing this before i even knew what it was called bc I'm a chronic lip biter 😭 I exfoliate w a balm cleanser & rough cotton pad, pat my face serums & moisturiser over my lips & then top it off w aquaphor, my lips heal so quickly overnight!
After I am done with glycolic, I put a thin layer of Geek liquid hydration give it a second or two then lock it in with REMEDY for dry lips from Dr. Shah and OMG what a difference. I just got over a head cold my nose was sooooo raw I put a little of REMEDY for dry lips around my nose before bed and I wake up amazed at how much better my nose feels!!!
I ordered the Ordinary's glycolic acid a while back. Have not used it on my lips though. I have for years manually exfoliated my lips with a soft toothbrush and then put on whatever happened to be on hand. I'm absolutely going to try this basting....looking forward to get even smoother lips than my trusted toothbrush provided 😊 xxx

I’ve seen Idriss promoting lip basting, but finally tried after watching your video and it’s an instant game-changer for the recently acquired fine lines around my mouth! I used Biologique Recherche p50 1970, followed by a few layers of Rephr Intense Hydration cream. Magic!
I've always had very dry lips, till I tried the Typology lip peel and mask. The two work on the same concept and have worked wonders for my lips. I haven't had any dryness since I started using it. It is more lightweight. I use it mostly in the day. You should try as well.
My holy grail: Coconut oil and sugar. This has been my lip exfoliant for over 20 years! Then I apply Avene Cicalfate and then Eucerin/Petroleum. Works perfectly and I have not had chapped lips for 20 years! Love from Canada!

I have chronic lip eczema, so I’ve been doing something similar for many years. I start with Dr. Dan’s cortibalm, followed by Carmex, and topped off with SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore. I dislike LRP Cicaplast because it has zinc in it, and it’s very drying on my skin, so I definitely wouldn’t use it on my lips. I’ve also used ATOPALM MLE, SkinFix Barrier+ and a few others, but I’ve always come back to the SkinCeuticals product. I love Dr. Idriss, too. She knows her stuff and keeps it real.
Mainly commenting for algorithm but i did want to say that i work in the Scottish weather, hours before the crack of dawn in *all* of the weather (horses) It can be grim. I'd always used to use dry brush + vaseline but I found the basting a few months ago. Heeuge difference. ❤ I'm glad you're sharing the info.
I honestly had no idea about lip basting and I watch the videos of Dr. Idris every now and then (I knew about slathering diaper cream on your face, that's all). Maybe I should give this a try, since my lips are really cracked all year round and I don't use any allergenic or irritating ingredients on my lips! 😀

Have been doing this for a while. I ust the Good Molecules exfoliating toner (glycolic 3%) then use my toners, then put my Topicals slick salve. My lips feels so amazing since I do this twice a week.
Hiya Rob. Great video, I watched Dr Idriss video on this when it came out and promptly forgot about it lol. This is a great reminder and the fact you have tried it and gotten great results from it is even better. Ive entered the fine lip lines phase of my life so anything that can help is a bonus at this point. I have a question about this. Every night and lots during the day I use the Torriden lip balm that you recommended...great stuff by the way....could that be used to lock in the moisture after the glycolic or is it better to use a moisturizer after the glycolic? I've always been a bit afraid of lip basting with an acid because of the sun sensitivity. My lip basting routine is Torriden lip essence and MAS lip conditioner over top ❤
I love the idea of the torriden or the MAS balms for this I think they would work really well and are both cruelty free.. Hope your having a great weekend and sending you so so much love x

After i apply the acid of choice i apply a thick layer of bepanthen protective ointment which we use for babies butt for diaper rashes and irritation in which have got alot of benefits to repair tissues and during the day i apply a thin layer and viola you have sexy and plumbed lips all day

Hi Rob, is it ok to put a chemical exfoliator and a moisturiser on your lips? I've never done that before, would there be anything toxic in the ingredients that shouldn't be applied directly to lips? Thanks
Hi hun, yes its fine.. something like glycolic acid isnt toxic and small amounts are fine, obviously apply with caution and dont get it in the mouth but its totally fine.. love x
I struggle so much with my lips,they peel so much I call them my lizard 🦎 lips 👄!!! I’ve used so many products over the years,the best products I’ve used are MAS lip balm,Vaseline,and the Torriden lip essence you recommend!!! But although these are brilliant I still have problems. I drink plenty of fluids so I’m just stumped 😢

Shouldn’t you be veeery careful with this hack if you are prone to cold sores? I might be mistaken though. Thanks Rob for exploring lip basting. I’ve heard dr Idriss talking about it, it was Weleda cream and L’Oréal glycolic and very short mentioning. Want to try it but I’m afraid my acids are too strong for it (like dr Dennis gross peels), plus it’s usually multiple ones. And it seems over the top to get a separate acid for the lips 😂

I used L’Oréal glycolic acid serum and the waleda cream over it. Like Dr Idris
