It’s amazing I want a similar motor for 1/10th the cost It will involve: Toyota GZ (V12) Carbon fiber ITBS Custom engine work (no aftermarket currently, so it has to be custom) The end product should be similar in performance and maintain Toyota bulletproof reliability
Long back, Henry Catchpole (then of Evo, now Carfection), used the best equipment he had to get the sound of the F1 with the sports exhaust in the F1 vs P1 video, down to the engine breathing noises. With the sports exhaust, the intake sound is deeper and even more organic. That sound is the most glorious sound I've ever heard from any road car and the best captured sound of a Mclaren F1, still makes you ecstatic. I wonder what the T50 will sound like now that Gordon is even more capable with today's knowledge and tech.
My favourite part is that silence between gearshifts and then that deep roar as you get back on the throttle. The F50 makes the same sound too. Must be a naturally aspirated V12 specialty.
@@GB-vn1tf We have heard the Valkyrie though and it sounds awesome. Then LaFerrari also sounds epic. But the F1's voice is unique - it is distinctively masculine in character with a surprisingly deep growl and almost sounds like a motorbike engine from outside.

The induction sound on this engine is just insane. That was what Gordon Murray was going for after all. A proper manual gearbox, very low weight, excellent driving position and amazing sound from the engine not these modern idiotic exhaust systems. If only we can get all this in an affordable package. Sadly with modern emissions and noise regulations this will never be possible.
Yeah mate, one of his primary objectives was to achieve a nice exhaust note. I mean, as opposed to everything else and the fact that it has a high performance 6 litre normally aspirated V12 engine.

It is quite possible it has an upgrade. There is a titanium sports exhaust available for the F1 from this company called quicksilver. Some owners have mentioned a sports exhaust upgrade too, not sure if that's by McLaren or the same one.
