  • The S2 Custom 24-08 shares many of the same specifications as the S2 Custom 24 but adds a new level of versatility with its intuitive switching system. The platform for this guitar is a maple top, mahogany back and neck, and rosewood fretboard with bird inlays. It boasts 24 frets, a 25” scale length, and a Pattern Thin neck. The Maryland, USA-made TCI pickups are paired with a 3-way toggle switch and two mini-toggle coil tap switches that individually tap the humbuckers into true single coils for a total of eight pickup configurations. For a classic PRS feel with expanded flexibility, check out the PRS S2 Custom 24-08.
After ten years, the PRS S2 Series is being updated with USA-made pickup and electronics for 2024 (and beyond). We are proud to bring this added value to what has become a fully integrated part of our manufacturing line and product offering.

Their gig bag is really quite nice. Hidden feature on those....zipper at top opens up and there's a hook for hanging the bag (big enough to go on a curtain rod).

If I understand it correct TCI is both a name on some pickups and the technology for all now. So the 24-08 has TCI while the S2 24 Standard has 58/15 lt but that's also a TCI. Little confusing, I would like more facts like Ohm, Conductance and a graph. But my guessing is the TCI pickups in the 24-08 is hotter than the 58/15 lr. At least in my 35 Anniversary SE the TCI pickups both measure over 11 Ohm. Anyways the S2 Series is lovely and now even better.

@@Rob-qr2kn The "Custom 24-08" model is available in three different levels; Core, S2 and SE. The S2 is made in the Maryland factory, along with the Core models, using nitrocellulose lacquer, with higher grade woods and workmanship than the SEs. The SE models are made in Indonesia and China, using high-quality import pickups and parts. Until now, the same import parts were used on the S2 line. Now, the S2 line will use the same parts as the Core line, so the difference between the Core and S2 line will be the body carve, wood selection, available finishes, and overall attention to detail.

You rock Bryan! And this guitar is a solution to one of the last two guitars I want in my collection. I have a core SC594 Semi-Hollow, a US Silver Sky Rosewood and was looking at picking up a Paul’s guitar for a more p90~ish sound (plus they’re amazing).
Having this as an option is incredible. The only thing that kept me away from S2 guitars was the overseas electronics.
I’m going to hunt down a red one like this with as tight a flame I can find (in an S2), as soon as they are released.
The only concern so have is the thin neck - I really like the Pattern vintage, and the Silver Sky has a vintage profile as well.

The S2s are so good. They're a viable option to the cores even if budget isn't a factor. Lighter and you're not as worried to ding em in rehearsal or gigging. The new US pickups are a great addition. Still love the #7s in my old Satin Single cut though! All the playability, intonation, and tuning stability we've come to expect from PRS. Beautifully balanced instruments.

Nobody wants a wide-thin neck! Make the neck the standard profile or at least make it an option. A wide-thin neck is metal heads and Ibanez players. Make it a standard neck and make them become real men.
On a positive note, the pickups sound phenomenal!!
