A young man was charged with murdering David Williamson after having confessed to the crime, but the case was dismissed when his confession was ruled inadmissible by the Judge. He was subsequently detained indefinitely in 2005 after making threats to kill.

Interestingly according to the BBC Genome website, the September 2001 edition was meant to go out on the 20th but is shown to have gone out on the 27th. My guess is the BBC put out something to do with 9/11 on the 20th given how near the date to that was, which explains the two showings on the site. Hopefully we will get the remaining 2001 episodes by the end of the weekend.

The poor guy who got beaten up by a group of men and was left paralysed are disgusting excuses of men. I really wish that rough justice could be doled out to people like this where they got beaten up and also paralysed by a group of men. It’s so cowardly and despicable. I hope they were caught but I bet their sentence wasn’t long enough.

You can hear the disgust in Fiona Bruce’s voice as she reads that bit out.
The abduction and sexual assault in Leigh on Sea was as brazen as it was horrific. To abduct the boy, drive him around for three hours and then attack him all with a two year old child in the back of the car. The most puzzling thing was the following month's Crimewatch revealed that they received so few calls and hadn't caught him despite the photo fit, the description of the car and its inside as well as the little girls name in the back of the car being Belinda and she called the man "daddy". Was he her dad or the partner of her mum? Was the child's name even Belinda? Very disturbing case.
Surely they could of done a check on people in that area called Belinda , its not a popular name really ???
@@Elmwood-ze3cr true which if they did and it failed to produce any suspects would mean either the child wasn't called Belinda or another possibility was the man wasn't from the area and was just passing through the area, it was along the A13 that the abduction took place, the reconstruction said the boy had learning difficulties and it may have been that he had some physical or facial attributes such as down syndrome that may have suggested this and was deliberately approached by a stranger who took advantage of the situation and his vulnerability to lure him into the car. I cannot find anything about it online which could indicate he wasn't caught. One thing that they left out was where did the man drop the boy off after that 3 hour journey. Whoever he was, you would fear that he could have struck again.
I’d be interested to know if it was a bona fide case. I know of one other kidnap featured on CW that turned out to be false. Not saying that’s the case here but it is worth bearing in mind as a possibility
@@uknihilist6744 it's a possibility that I had briefly considered in fleeting thought. It does happen occasionally but you would think if it had made it onto Crimewatch that the police must have believed its authenticity. And my gut feeling is this did happen. But I find it strange that there is no reconstruction in the traditional form it's rather a quick recap of events and the appeal points are from Nick Ross not a detective. I'm also perplexed as to why there is no reference to this attack found anywhere online.

A quick Google search shows he is still in a wheelchair as of 2020.

How many of these appeals have been solved?
That's the million dollar question, I have noticed that quite often victim's surnames are not mentioned, which makes Google searches for answers very challenging and then there's also the passage of time to contend with. Frustrating.
Sadly the murders of David Williamson, Mary Hancock and Albert Lutterodt are still unsolved

He also appears in the reconstruction many years earlier, about car thieves, stealing Mercedes. He gets his stolen, by the River Thames and the other is a well to do lady, outside an antique shop in Kensington IIRC.
Mickey Pearce was in one in November 1984 & pub Mike was in one in July 1987.
