Arthur Bolkas is a criminologist, author, speaker - and former inmate. He spent time in Pentridge Prison in Victoria in the 1980s, and recently revisited Pentridge to share his own story with us.
Arthur's story is one of pain, loss, and redemption, and I'm thankful for his willingness to share with us.

I was raised catholic and my siblings and I were made to attend mass with our mother during our younger years, but through the years after, up until now, quit going all together. I also have never been to prison, unlike my younger brother who is now 47 years old and is in prison in Pennsylvania, U S A. He has been behind bars more than he's been free, starting his criminal career when he was about 15-16 years old.
I'm not a very religious person, but i do believe in God.
I just want you to know that I really enjoyed listening to your story and found it very interesting and inspirational, and would like to thank you for telling it.

Well said Arthur great story mate and I feel for you what you went through earlier in your life, I was in Beechworth prison for a long period it was far better than Pentridge but love your work and all the very best mate.
