- An overview video showing the various arcade controllers I feature on my channel. Among them are:
8-way Joystick and Buttons
Trackball
Spinner
Light Guns
Analog Flight Sticks
4-way Joystick and Pinball Controls
Tank Controller
DDR Dance Pad
Steering Wheel
360 Degree Steering Wheel
Also show are the projector stand I set most of the controllers on as well as the racing wheel stand I use.
Damn son, you are indeed the king of controllers.
Amazing setup! Frugal, comprehensive.. Respect!!!
I picked up one of those Thrustmaster HOTAS X's a few months back for half the cost and I gotta say the stick is pretty shoddy with it's built-in deadzone that cannot be removed without serious hardware modification. It works ok for games like Descent that have sensitivity adjustments which help mask the issue a little bit, but games like Tie Fighter and Free Space are pretty much unplayable. Supposedly the HOTAS 4 does not have this problem thought I've seen that some have the opposite issue with axis drift. I also have the same Logitech stick and it's always right on the money.
I have to agree, i also bought a HOTAS X and found it to be garbage for Space Harrier, which was the main reason for getting a stick, and so i promptly returned it. The Logitech Extreme 3D works really well though.
I love arcade controls, and I love your collection. It is very similar to my collection, I need the tank control and a trackball. I have built 4 controls, and now an spinner. I didn't know all the games that could be played with that controls. Now, thanks to your channel I know the games.
Thank you very much dude
Glad to help.
Have you tried the dual tank sticks with Virtual Cyber Troopers? I run a video game club for my students and am looking to set up an emulator with just that. Possibly building similar sticks. Best- Steve
Yeah, I have a video of it. Look for Virtual-On on my channel.
7:07, ey!! that turning feature is perferct for Gun Survivor 2: Biohazard Code Veronica
Yes, I have a video using the controller in that way.
Is the Extreme 3D more accurate than your other joystick, the Thrustmaster HOTAS?
Thanks Darth for your twin stick videos. I love playing the twin stick shooter Geometry Wars 2 on the xbox 360. I'm 41 and my hands are busted so I like to avoid button mashing games now. But even so, thumbstick controllers are very small. Let's see what I can come up with! Thanks for your inspiration and all the best on your gaming journeys x
Cool video, awesome work creating all the control variants. The 360 wheel is awesome
my only question is, when will you get a motorcycle handlebar? xD awesome setup, I've found your videos looking for spinner recommendations and tunning, and I'm truly impressed.
I have looked before but I've never really come across anything.
Did you ever buy the usb periscope for Sea Wolf?
Do those dual sticks work with Virtual-On?
If I remember correctly there is some kind of input issue with Virtual On with the emulator.
I own the AimTrak and enjoy using it with games such as Ghost Squad, but it isn't really the same as a pixel-perfect light gun you'd get out of a real arcade cab. However, I've also acquired one of those rare, Act Labs PC USB guns (the VGA version). I need to get a VGA splitter cable and CRT monitor though. Have you seen those before? I can't wait to play original House of the Dead with it! :)
Great collection BTW.
I have seen them but never tried them.
Microcenter has got an atari arcade stick. Have you seen it?
No. I had to look it up. The one that looks like an X-arcade Tank Stick?
DarthMarino yeah, that one.Their easy to mod.
8:50 you have a pair of UltraStix 360 flight stick version with 2 buttons (buttons 1 and 2). I do not know anybody else who actually has bothered to show those sticks in action.
I had some weird dreams that there would be a handy arcade game stick level with 6 buttons on the back plus a thumb-pad on the top so that it can be played with both left and right hands. Effectively, this would be the all in one arcade game stick plus extra 8 way thumb-pad to play twin stick games and standard 6 button joystick games.
Those aren't UltraStix. They are actually 8 way digital joysticks.
@@DarthMarino Yeah.. I have seen some products like that offering two buttons on the lever stick.
Would ti be cool to have a game stick that have 6 buttons on the back for 100% compatibility with 6 button joystick games? I bet it would save a lot of space for multiplayer games.
@@JohnshiBRPG The flight stick I have has a ton of buttons including an 8 way joystick for your thumb.
@@DarthMarino I am talking about 6 buttons in a column (vertical alignment) like where the trigger button is located.
Anyways, it is one of those fantasy dreams of an arcade gamer obsessed with experimenting with flight joy stick design.
amazing set, the "small steering wheel" its included with spinner turbo twist ?? i I would like to buy one ,
It's not included in the base price but when you go to buy the Turbo Twist, you will see an option to buy the 5", 6" or 7" wheel.
I am trying to get my playstation dual analog controller to work with epsxe to play power shovel like you did in another video but I cannot get the controller to work with epsxe. I am using windows 10. Any help would be appreciated.
I assume you mapped the analog sticks. I think when you start epsxe you have to press F5 to activate the analog portion of the controller.
@@DarthMarino I cant get the computer to recognize the controller. It works on playstation but not computer with usb adapter.
@@craigblock1992 Which specific controller are you using?
@@DarthMarino I'm using the PlayStation dual analog. SCPH 1110. But I can't get my dual shocks to work niether. The computer says it sees the adapter but the controllers won't work.
@@craigblock1992The original Dual Shocks or 3/4? The newer ones may require a program like SCP Toolkit.
Is it possible to play quake with these joysticks with buttons and track ball? it would be nice!
I haven't played quake in forever but I don't see why not.
@@DarthMarino one day i will test hahaha! Congratulations, great videos!
We need to get some Golden Tee going again once this quarantine is over
Indeed. I did play a few weeks ago.
Can you make a vídeo configuring a MS 360 Wheel? I can play, but is hard to control. And i cannot install ffb plug-in. I think have some wrong because not work correctly
What games are you trying to play? I never had to configure anything on that wheel.
@@DarthMarino Cruisn usa. The Microsoft wheel sounds diferent of the arcade. I need turn 90° to make a little curve, like change part of Road.
I can Record vídeo and post for you. Is better to understand
@@showdonobre Did you calibrate within the games menus or when it starts up?
@@DarthMarino yes. Calibrate in PC and in game. But the death zone is great. Ill make vídeo comparating daytona usa um xbox 360 and Cruisn usa.
@@showdonobre I had a thought. Did you also map the Paddle Analog Inc and Dec? If so, get rid of that. Only map the wheel to the Paddle Analog.
where did you buy the blue steering wheel?
Amazon. Several years ago.
Does the turbo twist with the steering wheel fit properly?
Could it be removed from a strong spin ?
There's a tiny bit of play that you don't really notice while playing. I don't think it can come off if you spin it hard however if you pull it towards you just right it can technically come off. This has never happened to me.
Thank you. I want to add a 360 steering wheel to my cabinet and I'm considering this solution. This way I would also get a spinner! It's hitting two targets with one shot.
Yeah, there aren't a ton of solutions for either control style so it's likely the best choice.
