    I genuinely wish I had watched this video and fucked up 2 of the 3 batches I’ve done already because my dumb ass thought I could wing it 😂

    Seriously man, if you're ever in Budapest, first beer on me. You have to check out what Brew Your Mind is doing in Szekszard anyway.

    At another $50 for a total of $350, I really can’t see why one wouldn’t purchase it with it the pump. Even at an extra $100 for the pump on the Anvil Foundry, it makes sense. People who buy these all-in-ones want them for the convenience factor so why skip the pump?

      You make a fantastic point. I think the issue is a lot of new brewers buy these and dont actually know what all they need. Also some early adaptors of the robobrew and mash and boil bought the early versions that didnt have a sparge or pump included. But I certainly agree with you.

    Thanks for the video. So with only a 7.5 gallon capacity, how are you doing full volume mashes or even 90 minute boils? I suppose the equipment profile for BIAB is different, but I have a 90 minute IPA that requires 8.5 gallon pre-boil. Of course I boil-off over 2 gallons over the propane fire. What is your boil-off on this?

    When hold mash i drop to 1000 watts. Target 152, goes from 146 to 160. Sucks.
    When recirculating with the pump it runs itself dry quick even with the right grain crush and strike volume. Very hard to get right.

    Nice review, yeah the E4 error is a real nightmare the first time. Cheers

    Do reiterated mash for high abv. Split grain bill in half. Use wort from first mash as your strike h2o for the second mash. Or mash with base malts only then steep with speciality grains. I have had more success with the former than latter. Usually 20 lb total grain bill. 9+ abv Double NEIPA's.

    • @LifeIsBrewtiful
      @LifeIsBrewtiful  5 років тому +1

      I've had to split a few batches that same way. I really dont enjoy the process so I bought another system haha

    To compensate for less mash volume....... if making a high abv barleywine, imperial stout or Baltic porter...... get what you can out of the grain and add light brown sugar to the boil to bump up the og. I'm sure you already have that as a possible high abv method but I had 2 cents just sitting in my pocket
    Cheers Anthony

    Awe mate you should have gone for the Brewzilla 35l all in one. Its definitely worth the few extra hundred dollars and its essentially the updated version of the Grain father for half the price. Im always Leary of buying the cheapest electric all in one systems but yeah its definitely worth the money to get a brewzilla 35l cause its a beast at brewing. I bought mine since my house only has a electric range given though its a million dollar house and im to cheap to buy a natural gas stovetop like I did at my previous house. The brewzilla saved me a few grand so I didn't have to pay for a whole new stovetop. I use my Brewzilla 35l for making a distillers mash that i later put in my fastfermenter then my 13 gallon mile high 2 inch reflux/pot still pro tower with the electric heating element controller and I cannot be more happy with it. Saves me from making a mess in the kitchen and getting a earful from my wife not to mention the Brewzilla 35l which is roughly 10 gallons is portion and a plug and play all in one system. I usually set it up in the kitchen or garage and use the pump to syphon all the wort under the false bottom plate and use the included ss mash chiller down to 65 degrees and pump it into my fastfermenter, make a yeast bomb, then I use a small $5 aquarium pump and aeration stone for a hour to make the yeast happy and its good to go. What used to take me 3 hours in a old turkey deep fryer on my gas stove now only takes about a hour and a half plus its super easy to rinse out the malt pipe and brewzilla in the spare shower once im done. I understand the whole not enough space concept for people living in apartments or condos but thankfully I don't have that problem because my house is 5800 square feet. Anyways mate happy brewing and get in contact with me cause I have another Robobrew v3 which is the previous model and don't really need it since the brewzilla 35l is more than enough for me and id have no problem giving you my old Robobrew v3.0 since you don't have much room in your place. Ive been wanting to give it away to someone with not a lot of space so just let me know if you want it :) Id be more than happy to send it to another homebrewer. I just don't think the mash and boil is very good. Im out of Reno,Nevada and don't worry about the shipping and all that I got you covered buddy.👍

    Ever find out how to fix the only 16lbs of grain issue?

    • @LifeIsBrewtiful
      @LifeIsBrewtiful  4 роки тому

      I'm sorry but idk if there really is a way around it. Maybe removing the grain basket will get you a bit more room but I honestly dont think it would make a huge difference. If you've heard otherwise please let me know! Cheers friend.

    Hi, you say it took about 1 hr to reach boil...what water temperature did you start with?

    • @LifeIsBrewtiful
      @LifeIsBrewtiful  3 роки тому

      I started out closer to room temperature in order to get the full range measurement. Hopefully this helps! Cheers

    • @franciscosaavedra3658
      @franciscosaavedra3658 3 роки тому +2

      Yes it does. Thanks! I think those times are quite shorter if you come from a mash out and a sparge with hot water. Cheers!

    Be glad you don't live in Hawaii, like me. I looked into homebrewing. It's just too warm here without a device to keep fermenting wort cool. That and wild yeasts are a huge problem, even some of the less careful commercial brewers here have issues with contamination. It's just a hobby I can't afford.

      I live in Hawaii and brew just fine with mash and boil. A cheap craigslist freezer with controller is all you need, $80 tops. Never had an infection, you must be doing it wrong

    How do you sparge with this setup? I have looked at the Brewzilla and some others and I see they all have a sparge arm up top but this one doesnt ?

    • @LifeIsBrewtiful
      @LifeIsBrewtiful  4 роки тому +1

      Great question! So for the mash&boil what I have done is: A- use a pitcher to do a manual recirculation sparge which is actually my preferred method with this set up or B - hook up a wort pump and use a constant recirculation during the mash and boil. Both have made fantastic and, no joke, award winning beers! Cheers my friend.

    • @cain1s
      @cain1s 4 роки тому +1

      @@LifeIsBrewtiful Why do you prefer to do the manual recirculation method, and how many times during the mash would you recirculate? Thanks!

    • @LifeIsBrewtiful
      @LifeIsBrewtiful  4 роки тому

      @@cain1s I personally like manual recirculation because it allows me to visualize the clarity of the wort and identify any particles that happen to slip by. I have nothing against pumps and think they would work just as well. Manual is just my preference. And I just keep recirculating until the grain bed is settled and the majority of the debris is cleared. It varies brew to brew so I cant give you a set number. Hope this helps. Cheers!

    How resolve e4 problem ?

    • @LifeIsBrewtiful
      @LifeIsBrewtiful  4 роки тому +1

      For the e4 problem I've had to clean the bottom of the vessel of malt gunk and hop particles. If that doesnt work lift the vessel up while still plugged in and push thr reset stick thing (dont know what to call it haha). Hopefully that will work for you. If not you may have to call customer service.

      Good to know. Looking at this or Robobrew to replace my 3 vessel Igloo cooler gravity fed setup. It's served me well, but man this just looks convenient as heck. But a recirculating mash is an absolute must for me. Better even heat distribution and instant vorlauf. This looks to have a pretty decent rolling boil too.
