Thank you for doing this video. I have one of those steering wheels, yes couldn't believe no instructions, and although got it mounted couldn't figure how t hook up the horn contact and now I do. When she gets on the road in the Spring this will be Job # 1 for me and again thank you. .
Hmm i have one of these for install in a 65 skylark. I didnt think about steering effort like you mentioned. It currently has a 13" grant and the power steering is so overpowered you could nearly steer the car by blowing on the wheel lol. It's a little sketchy. Going to be even worse with a 15" wheel. Hadn't thought about that. There's got to be a smaller power steering pump or maybe a flow restriction i could install to calm the power steering down. I wonder if that light steering is common among all GM 65s or if Buicks got lighter steering to be fancy...hmmm
If you still have the 19 Inch stirring wheel that came on the Chevy truck. How much do you want for it. I like putting up spares for my 72 truck. Right now I just happened to be changing out my staring column with a tilt wheel column.. The steering wheel that was on my old column was for a camera or a square body Chevy truck.
I installed this wheel on my 69 c10 and the horn button had no "spring" movement. Looks great but did I miss something in the video. Any insight to fix the horn would be appreciated
@@mossman381 Thanks for helping. Believe it or not if you put the horn button on with the white stripe on the bottom the button is not able to be pushed. The white stripe must be at the top Great video
mossman381 How are you doing today. Good I hope. I am a little curious about you and your videos. Are you professional or do you do it as a hobby. I myself had been professional my entire worklife. All except the time it took me to learn the trade. I am retired now. If you do this just as a hobby and you run into problems I will be glad to help in any way I can. People like us are a rare breed. The reason I say this. We go out and find the truck and fix it up to make it run and look good. Other people if they want a truck they have to go out and buy it. Those people will never have the sense of pride that we have when we turn that key and drive down the road. They may feel good when people turn heads and look at their truck. In no way will feel like us. You have a good day and if you ever need help just give me a text.I I'm building my 72 Chevy pick up now. I have pretty much finished the 350 engine. If you'd like to take a look and hear it run look me up on Facebook. I have it sitting there running and it does sound good and powerful. I use a different name on Facebook. Hello David, I am doing fine. I probably wouldn't be considered a professional. I don't get paid to work on others vehicles. I work on my own stuff and some of the business equipment we have. I was lucky enough to have a dad that worked on his own stuff and let me try and do the same. Letting me build the skills it takes to work on vehicles and equipment. I don't know everything. Nobody knows everything. I would say I know a lot about the older Chevy trucks. I have had a few of them. I appreciate the offer of help. Not too many people willing to help others for free. I have to get back to work. Good luck on your 72.
@@mossman381 Good luck on your vehicle. If you need any help at all and I can help. I will be more than glad to do it. Sounds like you had a good dad and a good upbringing. Not so much for me. My dad was a drunk and my mother had started a new family. So I was just in the way. I still was able to take care of myself and become a very good Man. Thank you for the compliment you gave me. You take care If you ever want to talk I am right here.

That's a good looking wheel. Also like the Tach in dash. Cool
I really like this 70's truck videos, truly awesome 👌.
Thanks 👍

Love that truck
It's old and a little crusty but I love it. I get thumbs up all the time while driving it.
I have this steering wheel on my chevelle. Not a ran of it. To me the grip diameter feels too thin for me.
The thin wheel was one thing I liked about it. Older cars seemed to have thinner grips.

There is no spring. The tabs the horn snaps onto acts as the spring. Is your horn blowing all the time?

Link is in the description and the first comment.
Could you please tell me what size radio do you have in your truck. I need to put one in mind and I do not want to cut the dash.
Go to LMC and get one that fits without cutting.

Any issues with the horn function with the new wheel??
Nope

Will.that steering wheel fit my 88 Gmc c3500
Not sure. With the right adaptor it should work. I don't know if the 88 and 70 steering shafts are the same.
👍
Where did you get the wheel
