After watching your video probably 100 times I am attempting to do this today! lol Wish me luck 🤞🏼 Thanks for making such thorough and descriptive videos.
What an easy to follow guide to replicate with my 17 year old on our 2008. Thank you for sharing. The bonding we shared will last a lifetime. Thanks again!!!
@@CarsNToys hey, New to the the channel, can I use the same exact steps to apply air suspension? I'm 18 and new to cars so im kinda nervous that I might mess it up.
Should of done my work first. Was in a hurry, messed up the bottom strut bolt it just keeps turning now and broke the passenger side cv joint forcing the strut into the sleeve. Now got more work to do and money to spend and probably lost my new job where I haven't even started working yet. Yay for me!!!!
Fantastic! Thanks for the tutorial. Looking to do this in the next month or so. Front suspension making squishy sounds when I push it down lol. Replaced the control arms and that didnt fix it. So I'm now sure it's the struts.
the wheel height vs. body affects the tie rod position hence the alignment. With tie-rod behind acle you can expect a toe-out situation: the car will be all over the road, hard to drive straight.... expect to need an alignment.
Thank you for the in depth video on the strut replacement. Love the tips and tricks like the socket and extension to make a breaker bar. I too have used the Monroe Quick struts on a Lexus ES 300. For me, the cost was the same as buying the individual parts so having them pre-assembled was a huge benefit in time and effort. My son has a 2010 TL SH-AWD that I will be helping him with. Do you have any videos on the 09-12 Acura TL's?
This reminds me of your front strut video on the 1997 Maxima from years ago. For the craftsman jack have you ever had to do any maintenance in the last 6 years like add fluid, lubrication, etc?
Great Video! Thanks for all the info. I have a 2007 tl type s and I've been looking at the monroe quick struts. What are your opinions on them or how have they held up now that it's been a while since you put those on?
I use kyb excel g...that totally improved my ride...but question what rotors did you use I am about to change them on my 05 and 13 because I changed the brakes and hear some noise..so now I am changing it all
Curious wore you having like knocking sound when driving i have 2012 Acura TL and had it looked at 3 times in garage and they can't find anything wrong in everything is solid im wondering if its my top strut mount i don't know what else it could be.
I have an 08 TL type S, and I've got one for you. The entire bottom of my fuse box is busted out, and it is unclear why, and I'm getting engine noise in my radio. How do you replace a fuse box?
Just ordered some of the monroe struts the rubber boot in the struts was slid down a bit wondered if I should slide it up snug against the top so the inner of the strut is not exposed?. I’m guessing and hoping that the left and right are the same part? I know oem left and right have different part numbers.
Great video. I own a 2005. So now how is the ride with the new struts? I live in Quebec and our roads are a complete joke of a mess. Nothing but potholes, cracks, and lousy patch work. My struts are making a lot of clunking noise. Thanks for the video.
Hey great video. When I was removing the strut brace from my 06 TL the 10mm bolts (not the 12mm connected to the strut tower) broke. I am new to working on cars and I was wondering how to know which replacement bolts and washers to buy when bolts break. If anyone can help that would be appreciated :)
@@CarsNToys I replaced my Lower control arm with mevotech and I really feel like the car is much louder now. Wish i went oem. Kinda ruined the car for me snd it’s smooth quietnes
I have a 01 cl with only 128k nothing wrong with struts but after watching this and seeing only hand tools used I have no choice but do replace to replace glad he didn't show how to rebuild engine
Thank you. It's a tad softer than the OEM struts, which I prefer. Interestingly, the ride height was spot on when I lowered the vehicle. So far so good.
How is quality compared to oem. Also oem has different specs for each type of tl. 6mt is stiffer than auto and auto 07 08 is softer than 04 06, type s is stiffer than 6mt
I installed these shock to my Acura TL 07 type s and after like a month they started to squeak and it’s kinda annoying to be honest. Wish I would of stayed with OEM
What quick strut do you recommend for a 2000 Acura TL, Monroe doesn't seem to make one for this year and model, all I see are inexpensive GSP and FCS brands which I am not familiar with or should I just purchase a KYB strut and reuse the spring and mount.
Dude u just saved me 500 plus dollars. I'm definitely replacing mine myself. I must watch all your acura tl videos now. SALUTE!!!!

I love this guy he is very patient.
Love your videos man. Had my 04 TL since '07 and your videos have been a HUGE money savor and have kept my baby running strong over all these years.
Thank for video. Yesterday I changed my struts with your video. Thank you. I like your videos.💯💯💯
Hey, I want to say thank you for this video. I was able to replace my front shocks all by myself. Thank you again :)
How the ride compared to oem?
@@GAMINGKNOWSTHEBEST I bet car is more stable at Hwy speeds. ✌️
A ton of information here buddy. Thanks a lot . I own an Acura tl 08 so this helps alot.
Glad it helped

Great camera work man. Seriously. Thanks for the video👍🏻
Do we need to do an alignment after installing the new struts ?
Thanks for the video
Always get alignment after this type of work !
the wheel height vs. body affects the tie rod position hence the alignment.
With tie-rod behind acle you can expect a toe-out situation: the car will be all over the road, hard to drive straight.... expect to need an alignment.
was the Lower fork under any tension when the bolt was removed? And all you had to do was raise the car on both sides...
Where do you get all the torque specs for cars??
... on his channel... lol !!
Actually in the repair shop manual
🙏

I have 2009 Acura TL. Can I use this same video for my strut replacement?
Yeah, very similar setup

Always very informative videos thanks a lots
Thank you. Appreciate the feedback.
Do you also have a video for the rear struts?
This reminds me of your front strut video on the 1997 Maxima from years ago. For the craftsman jack have you ever had to do any maintenance in the last 6 years like add fluid, lubrication, etc?
Thanks, Martin. No maintenance on the jack as of yet. However, I really should replace the hydraulic fluid. Cheers.
Will be changing my 2012 struts tomorrow
For the most part. Good job and thanks.
I have an 2004 Acura TL, how did these Monroe Quickstruts hold up? Were the rough on the road or smoother than originals. Thanks!
Do you have a video for the rear shocks installation?
Great video worked like a champ.
If the rubber is ripped and sitting about half way up instead of pulled down i assume it needs to be replaced right?
How's the Monroe ride feel compared to OEM?
Would you please add a custom turbo to your setup 😁. I would love a tutorial on that for the 3G TL coming from YOU!!!!!
Great Video! Thanks for all the info. I have a 2007 tl type s and I've been looking at the monroe quick struts. What are your opinions on them or how have they held up now that it's been a while since you put those on?
Update on the Monroe shocks' ride quality? Superb tutorial. Thank you!
I've been using them for years. No issues. I tried Gabriel once and they started to squeak within a few months. Cheers.
@@CarsNToys I appreciate your feedback, monroes it is. thank you!
Does this need an alignment afterwords?
Do you have to get an alignment after?
Looking forward to the ball joint video and your opinions on these monroe shocks
So far so good. A tad softer vs OEM.
I have a 2009 TL. Do you have any suggestions on part numbers? Also, should I change the entire assembly or can I just change the strut ?
I use kyb excel g...that totally improved my ride...but question what rotors did you use I am about to change them on my 05 and 13 because I changed the brakes and hear some noise..so now I am changing it all
Bosch rotors along with Brembo pads. Recently uploaded a video if interested - ua-cam.com/video/dvumT4IXzZA/v-deo.html

Thx for sharing. Question: did you replace the strut bushings?
that would be a smart move. This bushing does come complete with lower control arm, right?
What if you want a softer ride on a 2004 - can I use the 2007/8 strut to achieve this?
Did you ever find out?
Nicely done video. Thank you

I am new to working on cars and I was wondering how to know which replacement bolts and washers to buy when bolts break. If anyone can help that would be appreciated :)
when i doubt buy OEM. Example the nuts for the strut-tower bar are made of soft steel for accident safety
I cant remove that bolt on the bottom behind the brake rotor it moves but the. It comes back to place wtf 😫
What did you end up doing to get it out
I just save my self $140 to pay my mechanic to do it when I can do it myself now 👍🏼👏🏻👌🏻🤝
I watched a vid where the knuckle head removed the whole knuckle off of the top control arm
great video!! thank you.
You are welcome!
Thanks for including the torque specs. Not all mechanics respect the specs nor mention them.
Nice video 📹👍🏾
Thanks 💯
How is it driving now?
It drives well. I've had good luck with the Monroe quick struts. I tried Gabriel once and the quality wasn't the best. Cheers.

You didnt update us on the ride height after the installation. I bet it is waaayyy too high.. The shocks look wrong for that car
Great job thanks
You bet!
pretty good content

Hey there, what would you recommend for a 2019 Mustang GT in terms of the oil and the filter? Thanks!
I'd stick with Motorcraft to retain the warranty.

Always use kyb strut, other you will not have good ride.
Why in the heck are you using 3/8” drive. Should be using 1/2” drive for all that work.
casuall got a cat meowin in the backround 0.30 sec
man, that hat is beat
1st! Go TRUMP! Yee haw! 👍
