  • Episode 2 of my WhiteTrashRaider build.
This started out as an engine rebuild for a 1996 Yamaha WaveRaider 1100, until I picked up a free 1994 Yamaha WaveRaider 700 hull. To save over 100 lbs I have decided to drop the 1100's rebuilt engine into the 94's lightweight fiberglass hull.
In this episode I finish the engine build and reassemble. One step closer to dropping this engine in a lightweight 94 purple hull.

Good to see someone keeping the Raiders alive! I had Raiders for years: 94' 701 purple hull and a 96' 1100 triple. The 94' had a stock.block but I added every bolt-on performance and handling part you could ask for. It had so much torque and was good at eating chop, In rough water it would leave the heavy 1100 behind. The 1100 had a Solas I, Ocean Pro FA's, and a few handling add-ons. Those were fun times! The new 4 stroke PWC couches just don't interest me. Keep up the good work.

Thank you. The raiders have always been my favorite. I'm hoping this purple hull with the built 1100 is the best of both worlds. For ocean chop the raider hull leaves a bit to be desired. Pretty sure the old WR III hull would be much better, but I like the speed of the raider. Comfort is the only place where the huge new skis really shine, IMO. I don't do long cruises, just like to go blast around for a bit so these are great for that.

Sometimes it's best to just do things quickly and get stuff going. This project has been ongoing for years. I'll definitely post a top speed run once I get it all reassembled and broken in.

hello friend, did you think of putting a gp 1200 exhaust and its carbs? you have a beautiful job

Thank you! I believe there are not any gains to be had with the 1200 exhaust. The 1200 carbs would definitely be a big improvement but are a little expensive. Maybe a future upgrade once I get it all running.

When is that motor going to be installed?
How much compression did you get?

Still going to be a while yet. Lol too many projects on top of having a toddler and a pregnant wife to take care of. I haven't actually tested to see what the compression readings are.
