- Is it possible to get more life out of old 12v batteries?
This time I attempt to desulfate some of my old dead, and dying car and jet ski batteries.
To Desulfate these batteries I'm using this:
Noco Genius 5 Charger / Desulfator: amzn.to/3CSIQ1u

conclusion at 11:00 (he charged some weak batteries, then ran noco genius 5 repair cycle on them), 1 rejuvenated, 1 kinda rejuvenated, some older ones all didn't...
No way,You need hundreds of watts and a frequency of around 800khz to recombine solids to a liquid and voltage across the battery around 3 to 6 times the battery voltage.I done it for years and started with the cheap desulfators that do not work and then used audio amplifiers like the Ampeg svt3 pro that is a 450 watt amp but it did not have good output above 100khz but it worked to get another year or so from a bad battery. Then built a 500 watt with To3 type transistors class ab,Up to 1mhz amplifier and drive it with a signal generator at 800khz and non polarized 3uf capacitor couple it to the battery.
Should make a video about it. I'm curious to see what you did, I'm sure others would be as well.
Unrelated to the video, but is that the factory dash in the blazer?
The dash itself is. The top is this molded cap: ebay.us/crkyKn Currently it's just sitting on there as it needs some fine trimming before gluing down.
@@VHickleGarage sorry, I meant the instrument cluster. Looks very space age.
My Noco was a no go.
No luck at all? It's bought me extra time on a couple more batteries since this video. The one from my Blazer is still going strong surprisingly, but I've run the repair cycle on it several times.
@@VHickleGarage The 6 volt repair did not work.
@@Sodbusterrod Ah. . I have not tried on 6v batteries.
