I honestly want a sort of retro mode for Spider-Man. I want that challenging but rewarding physics based swinging back hopefully someway.
Spider-Man 2 had the right idea by incorporating different swinging difficulties and I hate that future games didn't expand on it cause it was an "interesting" accessibility option. Those who wanted chill swinging could pick easy mode whilst skilled gamers could pick advanced mode

I watched this video and was so intrigued and caught up in it and the concept i didn’t realize i watched through 22 minutes like nothing. This was so interesting and dope to get high to. Loved this game. Been following its development since word got around in 2015

I hope they bring some of these in the next game, we need more finishers, as well as all the stuff they put in the trailers and weren't in the final product.
I was super thrilled seeing Spidey going through the inside of some restaurant and even crashing through a glass window to catch the bad guys, as if we could actually do that at any point or at least during an action sequence, until... it was actually not there.
If 'Spider-Man 2' is going to be as "huge" as some insiders are claiming, I really hope they put all the stuff they marketed, then it truly will be able to surpass as a sequel.
I just don't see the point of cutscene like action buttons in the first place.. it's so automated that it doesn't feel like you're actually doing it anyways. I would like for them to actually nail the feeling of wall crawling and parkour to the extent where you can do these things on your own unassisted, instead of being locked onto a "track" which is how it looked in the trailer

Me neither, but I understand how that can be veeery tasking and difficult to implement into gameplay.
Building and rendering interiors are already a problem without loading, there's also making these interiors work dynamically with the exterior, because it's way too small and rough for the large and fast action you have in normal gameplay, so it's a tad complicated to integrate without breaking the game.
This is why they have the little animation for Spidey to go through structure empty spaces such as hanging pipes, below water towers, etc. QTEs and small sequences are basically a cheat as a way to allow that type of action to be done more easily.
@@radrno7 i think this just points to the problem that we're rushing prematurely into having hyper realistic graphics when it compromises gameplay. With every console generation we get more processing power and all we seem to use it for is rendering larger spaces with prettier graphics. That's the bulk of its use. I don't see any reason at all why we couldn't render interior spaces seamlessly inside exterior ones. This is something I know Dragon Quest 11 was capable of and other games like The Witcher 3 were able to do as well. Rockstar games come to mind too. Not asking for every single building in the game to have a whole interior layout, but just a couple key ones would be cool. And at the very least for sections that are taking place inside of a setpiece from the story like the one from the trailer where the whole outside world doesn't need to be rendered. Because there are interior levels we visit in the game, and we can't parkour or wall crawl very dynamically there either. So I think it was just a difference of design philosophy. We're very obsessed w this "hold down right trigger to do everything" trend in games.
@@WebofshadowsclipsI think the idea here is to keep the gameplay flowing, what you're asking for I wouldnt toss into the realm of impossibility but shit like that can lead to all sorta of issues control wise when you have alot of interlocking pieces n environmental objects in the player's way, I can see ppl gettin frustrated if spider man doesnt do exactly what they want when theyre tryna pull off a cool move in n enclosed space with dozens of objects n possibly npcs in the way, look at Assassins Creed 1 n how future games turned down player input n magnetized you to a path more cuz ppl were complaining,but with the rise of AI they'll definitely implement hella more explorable buildings eventually becuz they could just generate them on the fly

Floating over the ground is something they need to fix...it looks horrible, just make Spider-Man run on the ground while holding the web like in Spider-man 2.

I hope they make the web swinging in the sequel a bit more skill based rather than automated. They got the feel of it pretty good but at times it can be very limiting when you want to do crazier things with the web swinging. I'd say giving complete control of when you let go of the web and actually allowing you to mess up if you're too low to the ground is a good start.

A lot of people would actually argue against those web swinging points
ESPECIALLY the "magic floating" when you close to the ground💀. I personally didnt mind it but I understand why some people think its too hand holdy. I just want a way for peter to Ascend while swinging he currently has no way so a web climb mechanic would be nice. I mean miles has Venom Jump so its only fair
Right. They need to add extra features to flesh out the swinging even more. When I was playing the game, I realized that I couldn’t run down buildings. I was shook when I found out.

I hope they add the charged jump feature for wall running too and the wall crawling mechanic needs to be overhauled. Cant believe theres places that you just literally get STUCK on cause you cant pass

You need to be able to cut your swing at the arch and immediately reswing, and also climb up the web like the Ultimate Spiderman game
@@no.1spidey-fan182 wall crawling was terrible. i love how it feels in web of shadows, it feels so tactile, and he really snakes around the environment fluidly, even at different speeds. He can even climb up light poles and water towers. wall crawling is such a neglected feature. it has the potential to feel really cool.
Would've been awesome if they kept the multiple enemies attacking at once in the highest difficulty. Combat just becomes too easy eventually because only 1 attacks at once
The first idea of UI concept in the first game 21:50-52 was later used in the Miles Morales spin-off. There are also cut contents that was brought back through mods in the PC Version of the game such as the 1 spin throw in 21:21 and the finisher that was used in a car chase sequence.

I really wish they went with the more colorful and stylized artstyle. I’m honestly not a fan of how “default” the game feels. The world and atmosphere could fit in any other open world game, and having a heightened, stylized art style would just make the game feel so much cooler. Think of Persona 5 and the Spider Verse movies. The art direction in those doesn’t just look great, but adds to the atmosphere and feel. Swinging through the city with neon lights, popping colors, and cell shading would’ve been amazing and in my opinion, would’ve elevated the game to the next level.
Would u rather have insomniacs miles jump universes after this trilogy of games is over?

I personally wish that Insomniac had stuck with physics based webswinging. Sure there's a learning curve, but getting good at it is part of the fun. I'm hoping that maybe in the second one they'll offer an option for momentum based swinging.
I think there’s a way to find a perfect balance by combining features from different games in the past but yeah. A tony hawk style system where you can choose the complexity of the movement system is the way to go.
You can feel the automation pick up too much most of the time. Let me hit the wall. Let me manually choose to run on walls or not.
This Amazing game also reminds me of and seems to have aspects of the Predator Concrete Jungle game for Playstation 2.

This game was truly awesome after beating the batman arkham games this was fresh game to try out. My top 3 spiderman games are the ps4 game, spiderman 2 and ultimate spiderman those were my childhood games. I can not wait to see how the second game will be

15:06 I'm lucky that Peter's design was changed on the concepts he is 30 years old and this is not the spiderman whom we know and love to see the creators understood this and in the final version Peter is now 18 years old and this is the unlimited spiderman whom we know and love the costume on concept art, it looks like the second suit of Ben Reilly (Scarlet Spider).

18:12 this kind of moment was actually fun unlike in insomniac where you float in the ground smh. They should have Spidey atleast hold the ground or run fast on the ground and jump again if they're really insisting on keeping momentum.
I wouldn't be surprised if they don't end up adding this feature in the next game either. The physics are so wonky and floaty, I don't think it'll support it. It seems like other games had this feature because they were using actual physics engines.

Although I don't like some of the design and story choices they made, I have to give Insomniac the credit for doing an outstanding job with how good this game looks.
Seriously, ever since PS5 came out, their Spider-Man games are the most gorgeous I've ever seen in the gaming history, and I say that with no hyperbole, it's the best work I have seen done in terms of digital graphics.
The gameplay and the story might tire me after a while, but the sheer amount of each detail they put into its visuals... is just as beautiful as the first time I saw it, and I hope they keep that up.

I hope the bring in that finisher that webs enemies into the sky that we see in car chases and the armored car chase in the story. I've seen it in mods and it adds SO MUCH needed FLARE to the combat system.
Insomniacs spidey's combat is good but its TOO GROUNDED imo...so much so somtimes I feel like Batman with a speed boost instead of a character that can YEET A CAR. Seriously brute enemies that can BLOCK your attacks in a Spider-Man game dont make sense unless they are HULK sized like Shattered Dimensions and maybe even hulk powered too😂.
Once again this is a character that can lift TONS. I know he pulls his punches but there should be SOME way to DIRECTLY break a Brutes guard. Shattered dimensions used uppercuts like insomniac had for crowbar or batom enemies
Combat wise I'd like to see a counter and melee grab added to the game🤔. Or a web yank that yanks the enemy directly in your hands and you can choose what to do to them after. Spidey needs to feel a little more SUPER powered outside of just speed

Unfortunately, people are usually afraid to make drastic changes like this in an adaptation. Unique ideas like this are something you’ll only ever see in Concept Art.
@@WarpingFist true BUT because this is comics...there are ALWAYS the less popular deritive characters that people dont mind changing😏. So we can see the feature just maybe not on classic doc ock. Theres a character called Squid and also a Female Doc Ock that was inspired by Otto.
We might be able to see these changes in them. I mean Spiderverse got away with SUCTION CUP tentacles so as long as its not the classic version of the character ANYTHING is possible🤣

I'm currently playing it on PC for the third time since it came out... its still a blast. I cross my fingers that Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 will be just as good if not better than its predecessor but I've learned never EVER to get my hopes up for video games. Anyone who does is just setting themselves up for disappointment

You can tell by looking at the web swinging from the test footage, they reused a lot of animations for Miles’ web swinging.
It’s really interesting to see, the amateur looking web swinging animations that transferred over to Miles.
