The “ death wobble “ is from the crappy Firestone tires. I have a 2500 13 Cummins and the same issue. I put the back tires on the front , three trips to the dealer . No fix. Changed the tires and have never had another issue. I’m at 190k as of 1-21.
Agreed...I haven't had any issues on my 2013 Ram 2500 5.7L LH. Love this truck...but not running stock tires
Yeah I definitely stay away from Firestone tires lol.
2018-19 is the best year for the 2500 imo. My company still uses it and hauls oilfield equipment on a flatbed regularly. No issues, just oil changes, and is an absolute beast on the road. Almost eye to eye with semi truck drivers with no lift kit
What about 16?
@@jimmiemacd3603 Yeah.
i have a 2013 2500 that i use for work ! i use it very rough ive had it for 5 years ! has 150k miles now ! still no problems ! i maintain with 4k miles oil changes ! fuel filters every 6-8 months ! & every year half axle fluid chnage !
I’m looking at 2016, 6.4L with 133K miles on it, is it worth it?
@@treeoflibertydefense8612 I have a 2016 2500 with 110,000 I tow everyday for my landscape company. I love it
@@patrickobrien9982 you truck is a hemi 6.4 correct?
I have a 2016 2500 megacab..45k miles..not even one problem so far
Got mine today...good to hear.
Still good?
Yes sir! No issues
@326lorenzo
@@326lorenzo man. Looking at one rn
You better not have a problem at only 45k
1 have a 2012 with none of these issues , head gasket at 150k , tie rod driver side yes ,and a transmission, i run nitto tires only , one time i put on a different kind of tire and it did wonder left to right bad , i took it back and put on a set od nittos all is well i have had bout 5 sets of nittos on it with no death wobble it drive straight as an arrow i love it but i take care of it also id buy another one today.
My 2016 2500 rode alot nicer than my 2022 2500. Some things are improved in the 2022 but overall not as happy with the 2022 as I was with my 2016.
I concur.
Never had any real issues with my 2012 3500 truck other than a recurring check engine light, but that went away after going on a diet
We had a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins at work and I hate driving that thing, especially when pulling. That truck “wonders” in the lane. Doesn’t give me confidence to drive it. It also had 2 transmissions replaced already. The motor is legit, but that’s about it. My boss also has a 2011 2500 Cummins Laramie. That truck I like very much. It feels so much better when you’re towing with it. Unfortunately, my boss was lied to as it turns out the truck was in a flood, and it’s plagued by electrical issues. Speedometer doesn’t work, you can’t see any info on the cluster, radio doesn’t work, etc, but it drives like a dream. Really like that one and actually considering buying the same truck, but I’m a bit hesitant about the electrical issues. Of course, the best riding truck we have is a 3500 Chevy flatbed. That thing makes you feel very confident and safe even when towing very heavy loads.

According to this the worst years are the ones that still have the nice grill, this new grill design it's horrible, wonder if it can be installed the 2015 grill design to the newer Ram pick-ups
When properly equipped the towing capacity is 18,000 not 15. 2019/20 are trash. CP4 Failure. 2021 went back to the CP3. 2017/18 are the best years by far, 2021 is still yet to be decided.
I love my 2016
@@rockydubois1052 I have a 2016 and love it too!
I have a 2012 2500 with low levelers in the rear goose neck. And I’ve had 20,000 to 30,000 pounds behind this thing going down the highway but I do recommend a copilot system for the transmission and a proper tune for engine and transmission
Any feed back on a 2014 cummins?
What engine are we talking about. Ram 2500 is to broad to make a complaint video about. Was is 5.7, 6.4 or Cummins?
I have a 2013 and haven't had any of these issues even running 37" tires. No problems with the truck. Pretty sure all manufacturers have their lemons including chevrolet and Ford. This video seems to be a ram bash. I'll stick to my old ram.
If you add body quality it sounds like your talking about a gm truck I dont know
Now that we've had the early 20's Ram's a round for awhile the 2021 and 2022 are proving to be he most reliable years of Ram 2500's around.
The F250 2020 almost killed me twice with that wobble
My 2015 Crew Cab 4x4 long bed has been deleted & heavily tuned since it had 6miles on it-well now it’s got 298k w/no issues yet 🤷♂️ & Faster than Fuch!
“Steering problem caused 2 crashes.”
Wow. And how many millions of these trucks are on the road?
Slow news day, eh.
yeah when i heard that i immediately came to the comments lol
People forget that these things are machines and every machine even though it’s built the same is different one persons lemon has nothing to do with the next person’s truck
i Never had any issues with ny 2014 cummins 2500..none
How many miles you got on it? I’m looking at one right now, but I’m not sure if it’s a good deal or not. $35k for a 2014 mega cab lone star. It’s got 155k miles.
The only issue I had with my 2014 ram 2500 is the recalls. Which Cummins corporate fixed. Other than that I have no issues with my truck. It runs great and I use it every day for work. The front steering may be off a little bit, but it can be fixed with a good tires. I have fire stone discover XT tires and they are great so far.
@@jaylawrence9577 35k for 155k miles?!? I hope you didn’t buy that, man you can get a much better deal
@@AsianNIGMA in this market? Not for a higher spec truck. Unfortunately that’s not
A horrible price
And the problems DONT stop there!
The front drag link was issue for sure. I have 2014 and haven’t had issues still have original ball joints even.
I use a 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 and its been pretty decent. I have worked the hell out of it. It's fuel pump died at 68k is the only mechanical issue. I have the 6.4l and currently sitting at 145k. I am wondering if the Camshaft Lifter issue might appear, but so far no sounds of it yet. I stayed with 0W-40W Mobile 1 since I got it so we will find out if that helps avoid the camshaft issues.
Just don't idle the 392 for long times and you'll be fine.
@@sonsofliberty3081 It has many many hours idling and we have lost a few from the camshaft lifter issue. Pretty sad Chrysler can't build an engine that will last past 160k and that being said is better than most engines produced today. Our business requires lots of idling. Even with that issue I like them better than anything Ford or GM makes. It is going to be gone in a couple months got a 2024 incoming with the new Hurricane engine so we will see how good they are because in the Oilfield we work trucks hard as hell!
A MDS lifter will likely fail around a 160k. Few make it past that mileage. Its a garbage system. Without it these motors are capable of turning over 300k out of a gasser.
I think the 2500 HD trucks do not have MDS I know my 2018 did not have it. I got a 2024 work truck now so not sure yet if it does. I know it has the 8 speed transmission now and those are pretty good. My company works the hell out of them.@@sabastian4858
A FCA product with quality issues? I'm shocked I tell you. Shocked!
Yep... took the words right outta my mouth. FCA has been at or near the bottom of every automotive consumer reliability list for a long time now.
Okay, not that shocked.
So I found a 2012 Ram SLT Megacab 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi (which is what I’m wanting) with 140,000 miles on it for sale. I’m really needing a pickup to get from home to work and back, and it is priced very well for its age, condition, and features. Honest opinion, would this be a solid pickup to get and use for saying the next 3-4 years?
Yessir I have one myself
@@albertovalladolid8610 does it have enough power with the 5.7?
@@noahb4225 it’s pretty powerful
For sure a good choice.
Looking at 2012 2500 crew 5.7 4x4 myself. had an 07 1500 crew 4x4 and really liked driving that truck, just couldn't pull equipment with it. Got a 3500 chevy 6.0 and don't like it nearly as much, the 2012 ram is at auction, I'll see if I can get it for under 10k
Looking for some advice I am about to purchase a used dodge ram 2500 has 150k miles very good shape feels like it drives nice no weird noises for 12k$ should I or nah?
I'm looking at a 2011 PW 5.7 with 119k miles for $18k... should I be worried you think..
Just got a new 2022. Awesome truck. My 3rd one.
My 2013 has been great 90,000 miles with no death wobble

Really? I have a 2013 Ram 2500 Megacab Cummins with the original Firestone Transforcce AT tires. Truck and tires 10 years old. Albeit a stiff suspension when unloaded, the truck has been flawless and the Firestone tires have even wear and are wearing like my Michelins on my other truck. 50,000 miles and no issues. Put a load on it and its a sweet ride.
damn 10 years and only 50k miles it only a toy hauler?
@@sylermran Yep, sits in my shop and only gets called on to tow my boat trailer, tractor trailer and car hauler, not at the same time.

First Dodge truck (2015 Ram 2500 diesel) will also be my last Dodge truck. I’ve owned several Chevys and a couple Ford truck; won’t buy another Dodge!
I have a 2022 2500 cummins. This is the worst truck Ihave ever owned and also the most expensive. The steering is scary. And the electrical is even worse. Buyer beware when thinking about buying one. Please reach out if you have questions. I bought my truck from Brigham Gill in Natick Ma.
16’ gasser 75k miles , no problems - father has an 18 same build with half the miles but side by side mine looks brand new because I maintain it myself & detail weekly. Yes all manufacturers will have some problems but let’s not rule out that some people in this world are just plain lazy / stupid & don’t take care of their vehicles.
Got one today..good to hear
So a 2017 is ok?
Luv my 2008 Ram 2500 4/4 Hemi has 105,000 miles.
Love my 2003 Laramie 2500 5.7L. Just hit 127,000 yesterday
Super vague, says engine failure and knocking but this is only for the gas engines which only make up 20% of Ram HD’s. Good thing the majority are Cummins diesels and for good reason.

and the 2011 is good or not ?
Yes, the 2011 RAM 2500 is the best year.
This video is inaccurate. Does not identify real issues with the 2500 and 3500 trucks. Sounds like the video is a compilation of other stories with no real life experience with the vehicles he's reviewing. Pretty much everything mentioned is inaccurate.
Ok thx
Not today Chrysler engineers. All of them ar literally amazing trucks
FCA is pure rubbish. I own a 1500 and it is a tire fire.

this is bs video they all the same they all have problems and rust evryewhere i got 13 6.7 so far so good but its not perfect

The video was made for clicks. Not real data. All bs. It doesn’t even tell you what engine they using in the 2500. Just a rubbish video
