    When boiling the water, before adding the rice, always cover the pan with lid. It enhances the flavors and the boiling takes less time too.

    Way 3: wash the rice, soak for 15-20 minutes..add to a heavy bottomed vessel, add spices, ..add 1.5 cups of water for 1 cup rice, boil & simmer till done.. easiest way & no need to strain
    (Adding:) Don’t put a lid while boiling.. when it comes a boil & is foamy, reduce the flame & cover with a lid.. after the rice is cooked.. immediately transfer to a wide plate & let it cool slightly before adding in fried rice, biryani etc

    Cold water wash after cooking is wrong. Residual starch from rice is an essential part of biryani. One way to avoid this is time the masala preparation and rice accordingly..

    I think rice is not cooked well , may be u have to boil it for another one minute, when you break the rice it seems to be hard
