Nice video, but I think you may have misunderstood the army building rules for Legiones Astartes. If you’re running an Astartes army, your primary army list is Legiones Astartes, not any particular Legion. Each Formation can be any Legion and it’s all part of your primary army. The allies would be Solar Auxilia and Knights/Titans. This makes the Emperor’s Children ability way better, because you can take a single min-size formation in any Astartes army and get the full power of the trait.
Istvaan III is my favorite Campaign from the HH. 4 cool Legions, Titans & a few Legio Cybernetica. Im starting off with Emperors Children on my table with SoH to follow. Cheers.
I’ve just built an all-four-Legions Isstvan III list set right after the virus bombs have dispersed - huge World Eaters infantry and walkers detachment, min strength EC and DG as garrisons, them being the two to build up fort on the surface. Then a SoH armoured company representing the frustrated Horus sending in the big guns to begrudgingly support Angron. Plus an Audax Warhound or two. Very fluffy and get all the fun rules as as others have pointed out, main faction is Astartes and you get all the bonuses!
I was worried at a glance of the title, that this video would be all about how to take advantage of good combinations of Legions. I'm really glad at what it turned out to be. I will most likely do an entirely Iron Hands force, however as with my 28mm army, I'm interested in splashing in an Alpha Legion Formation due to the metallic schemes I use working well together visually. I'll definitely be using Mechanicum with my Iron Hands, the instant that opportunity arises. I'm very keen to Ally in some Solar Auxilia though, as the silver infantry will look great alongside the Iron Hands, and casually sacrificing hordes of human infantry seems very callous and Iron Hand-y.
@blackbriargaming5483 brotherhood of the seige! You could even paint a command squad black to represent Sigismund. It would be kind of fun to have bases with all three mixed on it as the lines and command break down.
Ha ha this was a look at interesting alliances you can make between the current factions we've got. What alliances would you build with Tallarn as inspiration...?
@@blackbriargaming5483 definitely solar auxilia to represent the human forces that survived in the bunkers tons of tanks and the auxilia sculpts perfectly represent the suits they had to wear while fighting on the surface and maybe add in some legio gryphanicus!
@gavincollins3581 so a Solar force with a titan? Hardly worth mentioning. Will tallarn get a shout out for epic battles you could be fighting in a future video? You betya! But didn't warrant a mention here 😊

Really???? That's wild. I'll have another read.
Yep, each formation can be a different legion. The 30% allies is knights, titans, solar
@@warhq adds much greater flexibility for realising those Istvaan dreams 🥰
@blackbriargaming5483 oh yeah baby
So everyone will take Emperor's Children formation. That's not lore friendly or fun.
It sounds like an oversight.

First! That´s what stealing the initiative feels like. :)
An Emperor's Children player hey...?
@@blackbriargaming5483what’s wrong with perfection? 🤣
Great video. I'm painting up some Word Bearers and was already planning an allied formation of World Eaters. Kharn + Argel Tal
Perfection 🥰
I'll be running straight World Eaters with some Titan Support from Legio Audax
Noice!
Great video, love the lore based alliances. Mkes a real difference to someone trying to exploit the best combos.
That's probably another video. I'll feel dirty making it but people will love it 😒
Great video. Narrative play über alles
Keep it coming man! I love this game
I sure will! I finally got my box too 😅

Love it!! Soooo many great bonuses!
had a crazy idea for armoured alpha legion, aerial assault world eaters and objective centric iron warriors or word bearers
There are no crazy ideas when it comes to traitorous shenanigans!

Are they loyalist alpha legions or traitorous iron hands!?! Or you could go with Alpha Legion pretending to be Iron Hands!!
Thousand sons with a contangent of space wolves.
After reading all the siege of terra books I feel compelled to do Fists, Angels, and Scars with Ignatum as Titanicus allies.
Niiiiiice. I'm thinking something pretty similar 🥰

Iron Warriors fought alongside Alpha Legion on Talarn right? I reckon that could be an interesting force
I honestly thought they'd do a Tallarn box set for the launch of Epic. Tanks tanks tanks!
@EmperorsTeeth yeah that would have been cool
Dude doesn’t even bring up the largest tank battle in imperial history with the battle of tallarn disappointed

Formations of different legions don't count as allies.
So I'm learning!! I missed that one. That's huge!
