My Dad would have loved the Old World coming back and we would definitely have played. He died in 2022 though and I still cannot bring myself to play any Warhammer games again.
Sorry for your loss. My dad died in 2002 when I was 16. We played Lizardmen vs Chaos. Didn't play again for years. Now I'm looking forward to painting and playing Old World with my wife.
@@James-qr5hx Sorry for your loss too. I was 30 when I lost him so I was fortunate to spend my 20s with him still around. I still have his old Wood Elf models. We played Wood Elves vs Tomb Kings. We also played a good amount of 40K.
Hi Iain, Sorry to here about your Dad passing, It takes time to get over it mate, maybe in a few years you will pick up the D6's again. and play to remember your dad, nothing like playing a game and doing something crazy and thinking Dad would of laughed his head off at that, :) stay strong mate you will get there.
@@GDWargames ok. But the title of the video and doing it that way implies people shouldn't do a ravening hordes army (or legacy one) as their first army.
Just started with Old World, unfortunately I’m not a veteran player so cost / availability of mini’s is the largest factor over anything else. I got the bretonnia box but absolutely dislike the tomb king aesthetic so went into Beastmen as their opponents
Yeah availability of minis is not good when your starting out good choice of beastmen less minis to paint to get the army on the table. Chaos is a good choice as well, orcs and goblins are a lot of fun to play, but you'll need a lot of mini's to make an army, happy wargaming, :)
Don’t forget there are still lots of dwarf units and characters sold by GW as part of the cities of sigmar range. Whether they’re in stock or not is another matter entirely.
Yep and in the ravaging hordes book this is just the fantasy armies, the ravaging hordes will be in a couple of weeks, but they may not be the best army in the book. 😉
Hi janehrahan5116, Empire are ok and probibly a close second for me, man for man i think the dwarf Core units beat the empire, on top of that you can give the dwarf unit veteran a weapon rune to increase there combat effectiveness further, :)

Awesome info my friend all areas covered
Cheers Justin. :)
Why you not talking about any of the armies in ravening hordes?
Hi George this is the Fantasy video, the Raveging Hordes will be a separate video, prob next week. :)

Yeah GW stock levels are shocking at the moment, :(
hello Buddy thanks for info
Hi John, hope you are well
Would like to play ToW but lack of support from GW is so bad. 😢
They have not give 100% commitment to the old world thats for sure, sad rearly. :(
orcs easy to paint easy to play

But it is oftan a big army (many models)?
Lol....my guy likes dwarves
Everyone like Dwarves, lol
Id personally recommend empire. It does everything while not having a real skew.

I see no reason to play anything but Greenskins, in any GW game, hehe.. Maybe Space Wolves, my first love.. But i don´t like current 40k anyways so..
lol, will the greenskins be the be army to start with from the Ravaging hordes book, :) thats for another video, lol
@@GDWargames Looking forward to it! ;)
