@2003SCT You know what, that's my bad. A few people have made this comment and it's NOT the Genesis. Chris hit a manhole cover which is the noise you're hearing. I should have edited it out to avoid confusion. Sorry. The suspension is very, very solid.
Some people should be more reasonable. This car is priced $10,000 less than the cars that it's wanting to compete with, like the BMW 5 and the Merc E. You lose some quality detail, but you get some nice features as standard, that will cost as an option with BMW or Merc. Plus, the ride quality has been consistently positive on reviews. I think it's a great option for those practical consumers who wants luxury for less. Personally, I can afford a BMW 5, but I am really starting to consider this car, especially the 2015 model. I am not about the badge, but the ride quality.

Your report is unique and wonderful Steve .. Steve to learn how much I enjoy watching my favorite channel .. Believe me, Hyundai going Basahih road and take steps after the last great day.

The front end looks Equus-esque. However with the manual shifting -- I'd like to near the steering wheel (a.k.a. paddle shifters). My wish for the Genesis is the fact that I that Hyundai develops an all-wheel drive option in their cars especially this one which some its competition has.
I test drove a Genesis a few years ago and thought the ride quality was superb. However, I disliked the interior (especially the center stack) so much that I immediately wrote it off my list.
This car looks great from some angles and cheap and fake from others. I think the front end is way too busy and lacks the class of the other cars in the segment in which they are competing. The interior "wood" panels looked awful before Steve mentioned them as such. I think Hyundai are really raising the bar over the last few years but they are having trouble climbing out of the "middle class" car range. More attention to fit and finish would help them bridge the gap.
If you're interested in a Genesis, DO NOT BUY IT. Get the Equus instead. OH MY GOSH, I went to drive another Genesis and there was an Equus for only $1500 more and only a year older than the Genesis. The Equus is an unbelievable value. It's fully loaded as standard equipment. Every possible luxury feature is in the car already. My brother went to look at one in Orlando and instantly bought it. And he already has a Genesis. So if you're thinking about the Hyundai Genesis, look at an Equus too. You'll probably but it.
One reason why I won't buy a Hyundai is because when I go to sell it, it will be worth nothing, especially one this expensive. That Hyundai assurance nonsense only is valid if I try to trade it in on a Hyundai, I usually would sell a vehicle private. Still a great effort from Hyundai but they are going to have to try a lot harder to compete with the big guys at, Lexus and Infiniti.
Please update the interior Hyundai! I love the car and would recommend it to people but that interior just can't compete with the cars they are cross shopping like Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. But Hyundai you have done well with your image because no one has replied with "HYUNDAI, isn't that a Korean automaker!" yet...
@shocktrooper1000 There is a V8 optional in this car..... the 5.0 V8 R-spec.... he said it at the beginning of the review. This isn't even the best car they make..... The Equus is their flagship, and competes with the S Class from Mercedes and LS460 from Lexus. Massaging seats, power rear reclining, etc.
Those who claimed 3:08 as a suspension issue gotta be ashamed especially because you guys tried to sound like some kind of expert. Ended up being a manhole...haha cant stop laughing.
I test drove a 2012 Genesis today. It has the V6 and it has 106,000 miles on the odometer. That thing was smooth as silk. I was very impressed.
I've had a 2012 for 5 years and it is awesome.

Your report is unique and wonderful Steve ..
Steve to learn how much I enjoy watching my favorite channel ..
Believe me, Hyundai going Basahih road and take steps after the last great day.
@Stepside Standard equipment, I'm afraid.
Steve seems extra happy every time he reviews a Hyundai, he is secretly a Korean.

Steve, are Hyundais reliable? Why should one prefer it to Japanese cars?
Thanks
@chimaeraSPK Thank you!!! You win!

I had drive Hyundai Genesis sedan 3.8 faster than Chrslyer 300 3.6L with 8 speed automatic I feel wow!
I agree that car is stupid quick
Steve, can you get this model without the old-man looking wood trim?
is this v6 going to be in the new azera too?
This is going to be my next car. fast luxury car with good mpg and looks and a long warranty a steal.
I test drove the car the that shit is fucking quick , you got the car ? Shit is faster than a charger , Honda , Camry , Altima v6
You won't regret it. I love mine
Great job Steve

@stevehammes Loved the review but this info is incorrect, the black interior has no wood.

The 5.0 R-Spec is my dream car. Kudos Hyundai.
Nope, the Azera is getting a 3.3L v6 engine i believe
Great review Steve! Hyundai still have some work to do, but for the price, its not that bad.
9 years later and they’ve showed up and proved they’re just as good if not better than the Germans
@rsxzx6r this one is the middle of the pack entertainment system the higher end navvy has the knob and everything

You can get the black interior that's the one I have

Seen one of these the other day. Thought it was a BMW and I'm quite the car guy.
2:24 I see fake dual exhaust....
Very clean.
0:02 woah mr happy relax lol....I love your reviews but damn!

The krautmobile shoppers will never change. They will do as they are told.

not bad
@davewhodavedunn They're not fake.
Nice
Fast sedan ever measure
You sound like you're reporting the news.
damn that interior wood looks awful, otherwise its great value for money.
@romoguy93 It sounded like he just hit a pothole!!!
@wtf000000000000 It drove over a manhole cover.
Impressive
The interior needs to be changed, looking very outdated and non hyundai-ish...
