I have the polymer flat face in my m&p 2.0. Apex does such an amazing job with these. It's in the details. You can tell they are passionate about what they do.
Yup they really took that MP one to the next level.
Great review! I have this poly kit in my G43X and feel the difference. Another thing to mention is veteran/first responder discounts and they will install at their Phoenix shop.
Good point!
Just bought this trigger setup, thanks for a great review/ video.
I also have the radian barrel comp setup so I can’t wait to run this trigger with the barrel comp combo.
That is going to be a big difference all at once.
@@TacticalConsiderations I have run the radian setup so I have an idea of how it performs. Just the trigger will be new. Either way you are right it’ll be a big difference.
Yep. You nailed it. This company’s triggers for Glock are the best for sure especially for EDC. All of my EDCs (Hellcat, S&W, and Glock have been APEXed.
They are great for edc all the way.
Good information. That is next, a good trigger. I did get the sights upgraded with night sights on my three G19 guns. Wow, that has made a big difference. Thanks for the good videos Mike.
Glad you got those new sights all set up man.
I recently purchased the APEX Trigger Polymer Kit for my GEN 5 G45 MOS and I love it. The performance is amazing.
Awesome glad you are enjoying it.
I waited a while for Apex to come out with Gen5 polymer triggers. So that is why my Glocks have Overwatch PolyDat triggers. I really like both. I did learn at a Frank Proctor class that during high round count training, Aluminum triggers act like a heat sink & get really hot. Overwatch uses OE bars & often sold out. Nice that Apex making own bars.
Yup its nice to see these coming out. Aluminum trigger can get warmer but living in az Its never been noticeable for me even when I have done 1k plus classes I am just used to it.
I just got one for my Glock 19 Gen 3 and I love mine. Great triggers.
They are solid
Just ordered the poly kit for my gen 3 build thanks for the review
Glad I could help
I thought about the Timney trigger but wasn’t sure about the reset weakness. May try this Apex first! Thanks for the video and the information!
No problem! You wont have a weakness issue.
Had a Timney in my Glock 17 Gen 5. Didn’t like it. Replaced with Apex Aluminum trigger kit. Noticeably smoother and cleaner pull and break.
Trust go with the timney and watch Johnnyglocks setup. I have one on my g19 gen 3 and runs like butter
I got one for my G19X, took it yesterday to the range and ran a couple of drills. Way better than the stock one. Man I should had PCSd to Arizona instead of Colorado. Would be amazing going to train with you and run a couple of drills.
Very nice! Glad you are enjoying it. Colorado has better weather lol.
I looked at Apex, among many others when I was ready to do something about the triggers on my G 27 and G22.
I ended up going with the Overwatch trigger system along with the ,#3 Zev connector. I used the same setup for both and I am extremely happy with my choices.......
Overwatch is another great company .
........
Mike here from San Tan Valley. Good video on the Apex trigger shoe. On my 43x I have install the Larry Vickers tango down flat face trigger shoe, Johnny Glock Customs enhanced firing pin assembly enhanced connector. Polish trigger bar. Great set up IMO for me. As always enjoying all your video's.
That Johnny Glocks kit is really nice to add to your kit. Glad you are digging it.
I still want the Apex Flag aluminum trigger kit Gen 3 for a P80 build. I’m also still looking for the colored mag releases for P80’s. I need a gray one for a compact and full size (if they are different). But man I always enjoy your content! I even purchased stuff from your recommendation’s and I’m truly grateful!
Those are tough to find they they run them from time to time. I appreciate you watching man.
Picked one up thanks to you letting us know about it. Feels great
Awesome glad you got it.
Aluminum triggers have a tiny different feeling than the polymer ones. Apex triggers are widely accepted as some of the best. Great review! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Totally agree
@@TacticalConsiderations Hey Great Video! I get that the Poly kit is much better than stock and a great value. However, if the $50 wasn't an issue, is the metal trigger the better product? Feels better, more durable? Thanks!
@@zaubermac5780just slightly more flex during the pull. IMO, not worth the $50. If you want a super nice trigger, go with another platform like a 1911/2011, CZ, etc.
A bit off topic, I just installed a Apex spring kit in a S&W 642. Yeah I still carry a revolver it's the only thing I can comfortably appendix carry for 10hrs a day. The Apex kit did wonders! They make quality products!
Rich they started in wheel guns for competitors so that doesn't surprise me it was really good. Glad you are enjoying it.
Apexs on mine are aluminum versions and they are a huge difference in good feel
Yup the full kit feels really good as compared to stock.
Thanks Mike, awesome info.
Glad it was helpful!
Great Review is that the same striker block safety that comes with the Apex failure resistant extractor? I have on my P80 and I am thinking about getting one of these triggers.
They only produce one version so it should be the same.
I have been considering the Taran Tactical trigger kit for Gen 5, I think that the team over there knows what they are doing.
That grand master kit feel pretty good.
Great video as usual and very nice upgrade
Glad you like them!
That recoil management thou 🔥🔥🔥
Glocks run flat.
@@TacticalConsiderations don't be that humble dude, you're also a good shooter. Skills trump equipment
Switched my oem shield to the apex kit. It's amazing! On My glock not so much.
Glocks design is not going to ever give an mp style trigger pull. Johnny glocks can get real close but very expensive.
Just put one in my Glock 31 Gen 4. Can’t wait to go to the range to try it.
Hope you enjoy it.
@@TacticalConsiderations Thank you 🙏
Excellent demonstration
Thank you!
Do you recommend the Apex kit or Timney Alpha? I've never tried any aftermarket triggers before and building my first custom Glock with RDS just for competition/range use only. I keep all my carry guns stock.
Timney alpha is a competition only trigger is it not a carry trigger where this is.
I just received mine! Installed it myself super simple!!
Love it so far during dry fire practice 🤙🏾
Its a good duty style trigger.
Damn thought this was the review for radian comp setup. Just ordered mine for my SS MR920 elite
I have been thinking about that setup myself
Not yet that is still getting edited. But I should be finishing it today.
Great video, I’ve been waiting for GEN 5 kit for a while. Had not considered polymer. Why would someone choose aluminum over polymer? Reliability? Feel?
Performance wise I don't think the human hand is going to know the difference between polymer and aluminum but aluminum will carry heat more when firing lots of rounds in quick succession.
Love your vids, just great reviews. What do you use for recoil springs?
Thanks man. I use almost completely factory springs. Springs are the one thing that seem to cause more problems when changed than just about anything. Some are great some are not.
Been waiting for this video! Got one in the MP 2.0!!! 👍🇺🇸 Apex are some real innovators and patriots!🇺🇸
Yup they have a great product and are 100% pro 2A
does any recommend installing a tungsten guide rod in the glock 19 gen 3? or had any problems with doing so?
I don't think its worth it personally.
put on the polymer kit from another gunsmith near by . tested it out there and it basically feels like there’s no wall anymore. feels heck of a lot better though with the safety flushed . but with this trigger , i just wonder if its correct to edc especially for a beginner once i do get my ccw. Any thoughts are always appreciated!
The wall should be better with these it will feel lighter though which is maybe what is throwing you off.
Mike I have the Apex Aluminum Trigger kit in my Nomad9 build however for some reason the trigger performance is far better than in a OEM Glock frame. Was wondering if you have the same experience. Sorry I know it’s a bit off the subject.
Glock tolerances are all over the place so that can make a bid difference from frame to frame in how they feel.
Can you tell me how to get the over watch trigger tp perform this smooth? After the take up it still has creep up to the wall then the break
That is the connector causing that.
JFC that red trigger looks nice AF! Thanks for review. I'm getting one for my G22. Can't wait :D
Right on hope you enjoy it.
If I wasn't running the Timney triggers in all my Glocks I would give one a try. I would like to find out if they will run in the P80s. I have a few of them I would like to get better triggers for.
I run these in P 8o frames all the time.
@@TacticalConsiderations Thank You for the info. I will give one a try.
Nice vid 👍. Who makes those side panel grips you have on there?
There is no grip work done to this its just worn out
Thank you for the video always enjoy them. My biggest concern and hopefully you can answer or at least guide me do you think there might be a problem if God forbid the firearm was used in a self defense case there would be a problem in court? Meaning with the upgraded trigger
I've spoke to several lawyers and prosecutors all of which said no.
@@TacticalConsiderations thank you for the quick reply and answer.
What would be your take on this apex trigger vs the shadow systems mr920 or cr920? Better? Worth the swap? Or stick with the stock systems stock trigger?
I’m a DA/SA guy just getting into striker fired. Still prefer my LTT Px4, but the size and weight daily… I switched to Susie systems striker fired. The triggers don’t seem nearly as good, but I’m in search of the best striker fired trigger, trying to go from that LTT DA first pull to SA second pull. I know a striker trigger will never be nearly as good but I’m trying to “learn myself” so to speak.
Sorry on my phone can’t edit. Auto correct kicked in.
you wont get a huge noticeable difference between them you can try a different connector that will likely get you to where you want without spending a ton of money.
Great review as always. How does this compare to the JG drop in kit?
JG kits will be far more aggressive.
Older video but have you had any walking pins since?
I had a couple of overwatch poly triggers and pins were getting pushed in and out even in dryfire
I have not.. I now on the overwatch a while back they had gen 5 shoes on gen 3 bars and that left a lot of wiggle room and some were having pins walk. I am not sure how many of those got out there.
@@TacticalConsiderationsended up getting refunds with OP which I appreciate.
In your years of experience Poly vs aluminum for Glock?
So do you notice heat transfer when you use a metal trigger vs polymer trigger during your burn downs?
No but in AZ everything is super hot so never been an issue for me. Even when I have attended training where we fired a thousand rounds I never noticed it to a point it was going to actually make a difference.
@@TacticalConsiderations right on man, I can only imagine the heat in Phoenix, AZ too that low altitude heat where the air feels thick but dry...here in Albuquerque, NM is that high altitude thin air heat...lol the SW in general is just hot, total resemblance of back in Country huh...but good feed back about the triggers 🤙
thanks! Im still undecided on what trigger to get on my 48 thoughts?
Tough choices on those these days .. apex has kits for all the slim stuff as well as overwatch and FACTR all are good just a matter of looks at a certain point.
The apex triggers are a significant improvement over gen 4 and earlier glocks. However, the gen 5 stock glock trigger is actually quite good, and to me ideal for carry in terms of travel, weight, and forceful reset.
Agreed. I love Apex, however, the Gen 5 trigger is pretty dang good.
Now if glock would only do a flat faced shoe.
I have considered getting the kit from Taran but other than that I think the stock trigger is fine.
Ehhh; gen 5 still not great. Have Johnny Glocks triggers in my gen 5 19 and 26
@@Matt.e_Black Great for what? One can always make a trigger pull lighter and shorter, but is that always desirable in a defensive, or duty pistol? As long as a trigger allows the average person to with a modicum of training to get consistent center mass hits at maximum realistic self defense distances, and at self defense speed, while allowing for safe handling and minimizing the likelihood of negligent discharges than that is pretty much ideal. IMO the gen 5 trigger accomplishes this.
Great review!
Much appreciated
I had the chance to get an empire stiletto, it’s awesome too pull!
Very cool I haven't seen one of those in a while.
I have a continuous precision trigger wondering if I should have use apex. I'm not unhappy with it but I hear alot of good things about apex
I have never used that brand you reference so I cannot give a comparison for you. But Apex is a solid product if you are looking for duty carry style triggers it will not be the lightest nor the shortest but its also known to work flawlessly every time where other really aggressive trigger cause issue.
Good stuff Mike.
Thanks Eddie.
Is this or the aluminum better than that which they put on the shadow systems 920 line?
You are not going to notice a huge difference in performance for the price on this over shadow you best best is trying the apex connector in your shadow.
Two triggers I love… Apex and Overwatch Precision! Can’t go wrong with either one!
Both are really good for sure.
How does the Apex compare to Overwatch or either the Glock Performance or Glockstore Pyramid 2.0?
@@dgilly716 I like the Overwatch a little better. I like the fingertip notch on it that helps with finger placement each time.
@ProtectiveDadPranks man it's a hard decision to pick between the Apex and Overwatch.you guys on youtube answering questions really helps when you can't see or test out products.ive heard someone like me with long fingers, that the Apex is better suited but only people's opinion..can u agree or disagree w that? Also, which Apex trigger did you go with?
Interesting 🤔. Thanks for the review
Thanks for watching!
This is EXACTLY what I've been waiting for to run in my G17 & 48. When can I find a Gen 5 apex for glock?! 🤔
Not sure when the 5 kit will be out.
🤧😢😢🤣🤣🤣🤣 the search continues for now. Great video tho regardless
Hopefully the Gen 5 and slim frame triggers come out soon. I want to upgrade my trigger 1st before the barrel
They just sell out fast
Just ordered one for my 19x
They are solid set ups.
would like one for my 17 is there any advantage in the aiuminum one
There isn't going to be a performance difference.
Have you tried Agencies Arm trigger shoe on the p320? If so, did you have any problems with it?
I have one at home a viewer sent in that I need to get into something but its a ways down the road I have not had great luck with agency parts in the past.
@@TacticalConsiderations I have the Agency full trigger kit on my M&P full size and never have a problem with it.It uses Agencies trigger shoe and Apex tactical springs and sear. There are very few reviews out there on this trigger shoe for the P320.
What are your thoughts on L2D internals? I have their enhanced firing pin and their enhanced safety plunger. I’m wondering if it would be worth changing to the apex internals or not.
I have only used limited L2D stuff they are pretty nice but very pricey for what they are. I have not heard anything bad about them though. As for changing over to apex I don't think you are going to see a performance gain . This is a combat style trigger not a really aggressive light style.
@@TacticalConsiderations appreciate you brother! They are pricey indeed 😅
Btw, I purchased the Overwatch precision trigger assembly for my P80 because of your earlier video and LISTEN!!! I absolutely love that trigger! I’d put it in my AR’s if I could 😂
I just ordered another one today for my new edc setup...those hidden costs making deep pockets shallow.
Lol hidden costs keep Tom a broke boy lol. Did you get it in pink or purple ?
Will the Polymer kit work in a glock g45 gen 5? Website says work work with gen 5.
No the Trigger bars and shoes are specific to generation
Interesting 🤔 great video, thanks.👍
You're welcome
Wanted to get a Polimer Trigger for a Gen 3 Glock and missed out on their 10 days of Summer Sale by ONE Day, waiting for next sale!
I am sure they will have some sales coming soon.
What's up brother man? Love your videos. Just purchased a g43x with usa flag cerakote. Was looking for the kit on the apex website but can't find it. Can you help please?
I don't know if they have the 43 version out yet just the full size.
Looks sweet Mike! Unrelated, but did you ever change that locking block pin on your gen 3 Glock? That pin was polished! Lol
ahahah actually I have the new one its in the bin of parts.
I’ve had one of these in my G45 for a couple years, unless this is something different. I still can’t shoot it as good as my other pistolas
This is the same performance wise just new design of shoe with polymer and an inhouse trigger bar.
If I wasn't already really happy with the trigger in my G45!
If its not needed then save that coin for ammo.
Fav glock trigger Gen 3 Glock 35.
its a great trigger kit.
I haven't tried an apex trigger in my Glocks yet but maybe I should... I've tried another polymer trigger but quickly found out there is too much play/clearance on the shoe against the slide stop causing all kinds of issues with the slide stop working properly and the trigger pin 'walking'... Great video as always, thanks man. Stay safe God Bless ✌️🇺🇲
Not all triggers are made the same for sure. Hope the Apex works for you.
Overwatch? 👀
@@seltiks911 yep!
@@CA2ATrucker I had a feeling ! Thanks for the reply. I’ve had that exact issue, on multiple glocks. I bought a few trigger kits at once
It’s been a headache
Did you find a solution? Or did you end up picking up the apex? Curious on your thoughts.
And I appreciate your time to respond
@@seltiks911 come to find out the county I live in the sheriff's department has tested and approved only the Apex triggers for all county and local LE within the county as well as recognition for CCW recipients.
I have the over watch TAC trigger kit in my GLOCK 22, other than the flat faced trigger shoe it feels the same as the OEM Glock trigger I can't tell any difference
I have several overwatch trigger and the take up is far shorter than stock it should be very noticeable on distance of travel.
Are these somewhat easy to install? Replaced firing pins but never triggers. Any install videos available?
There are tons of install videos up its really simple.
@@TacticalConsiderations thank you! Love the channel! Appreciate all your work!
Will have to give one a try. That is a good lower price.
Yup taking prices down is not the usual in this day and age but they got it done.
I was considering this trigger for my DR920. Do you think it is worth it for that gun? How does this trigger compare to the Johnny Glocks trigger?
Johnny glocks trigger area completely different level and usually 2x as expensive as this. When it comes to changing your DR 920 trigger for this you will not see much of a difference in performance from what you have
Thank you, I appreciate your quick reply.
How do you like it vs the Timney alpha glock?
Those cannot be compared as the Timney iis not a duty safe nor carry trigger its for competition only.
if i buy the trigger kit should i tell the gunsmith to leave the original glock 19 gen 3 bar or should i just use the whole kit?
Use the whole kit.
The newness is the fact that the shoe is polymer but everything else is the same as the initial version?? I just put one in my Glock 43x so I’m wondering if this is just incrementally better.
The poly shoe and in house made trigger bar are both new.
Aimsurplus had these on sale in September for $77. I couldn't resist at that price.
Wow not bad.
Can I put an Apex Trigger shoe on the factory Glock trigger bar? I didn't want to have to mess with the whole assembly I just really like the feel of the trigger shoe
Yes.
@@TacticalConsiderations thank you sir. Just subbed to the channel!
Would you carry a glock with an apex trigger in it or only use a stock trigger?
I do all the time.
@@TacticalConsiderations thanks for replying, I appreciate the opinion of someone that is in that area more then I am.
I'm freaked out, I was thinking about Apex Trigger , turns on the tube......boom first video
Lol well glad you saw me
What mag extensions do you use G ?
Factr USA are the ones on this and the are great.
The apex trigger for a glock gives you a trigger that is almost as good as the stock Walther trigger.
The PDP trigger is really tough to compete with.
What is the difference between the polymer and aluminum trigger? Performance wise?
performance wise zero
@@TacticalConsiderations basically the same? Thanks for responding back to me
Who makes that mag extension and magwell?
factr usa great stuff.
Should do on on sig triggers from apex.
That would be pretty interesting.
Has anyone tried the gen 2 pyramid trigger from Glock store ? I’m not sure if I should go with this Apex trigger on my Glock 19 gen 3 or the new pyramid trigger. I’m still hesitant about changing it because I heard it looks bad in a court case
I cannot remember if the one I tried was a gen 2 but it was adjustable and I stay away from adjustable triggers.
So did you go with the Pyramid? Was it the 2.0?
No I went with the apex trigger
@Samson-dn4eo can I ask why? And how do you like so far?Did you consider the overwatch? Sorry for all the questions.promise it will be my last. Lol
@@dgilly716i don’t mind at all. I went with the apex and it works perfect. I went with apex because it’s tested more, law enforcement uses it, budget friendly, and California legal. My instructor advised me to be careful because if you get the triggers with little resistance like the pyramid it can look bad in court and also might be illegal in some states.
Would you recommended the polymer or aluminum one more
performance wise there is no difference .. save some coin get the poly version.
Would you change the trigger shoe on your edc?
Yup most my carry pieces have aftermarket triggers it makes no difference.
@@TacticalConsiderations I know a lot ppl say don’t change parts on your edc but I didn’t think the shoe would make a big difference. Do you change the internal parts?
Ohh man I wish my department would let me use an Apex in my off duty Glock 43x mos. But NOPE! I have one in my G19 Gen 4 for the range and love it.
Yeah some agencies are really uptight about it. as long as it passes standard armoring I don' t see the big deal.
@@TacticalConsiderations Well remember this is California. lol
Love apex triggers
Good stuff.
Just curious on what agencies approve Apex triggers?
I am under and NDA so I cannot say specific agencies but there are state and federal agencies on the list local and nationwide.
@@TacticalConsiderations thanks for the reply, I have concerns if I use the Glock w/ the Apex trigger in self defense will it be used against me in court, legal or civil.
Are these not available yet? Not seeing the gen 5 on their site.
They don't have gen 5 versions yet with bar but the shoe alone is the same.
Cool. Thanks for the reply.
Will this new trigger kit work in a PSA Dagger????
Good Video // Go TO Aim Surplus for these triggers
Not 100% sure on that at this time. the PSA is a bit different in a few parts.
What happened to the new updated skinny trigger shoe?
That one is in manufacturing that is a different shoe design only same performance level should be up soon since the trigger bars are coming in now.
Have you tried the Glock performance trigger yet?
I have not. But I am working on getting one in.
I hope they’re doing a grey shoe.
I don't know if that is in the works yet.
Let me get that FDE shoe from you! 😎 I have been looking for something that color and worth… let me know! I have all the rest of the things needed already for it.
Unfortunately its spoken for.
So since you said the trigger bar for the Glock 19 gen 3 is the best Glock has ever made then I shouldn’t change it to the apex trigger?
Samson, trigger maker think the trigger bar on the gen 3 was the bet bar not the entire trigger .. They use gen 3 style bars then make new trigger shoes to gain performance and feel advantages.
@@TacticalConsiderations so If I take it to a guns smith to put the the apex trigger on, I wouldn’t need to buy the trigger kit just the trigger? Sorry I’m new to firearms. I just purchased my first handgun
Do you rock any steel frame pistols besides the 1911?
Not in a while I want to get some CZ stuff but other than that I have tried various sigs, beretta's and what not none of them made me want to keep them.
@@TacticalConsiderations You definitely need to get a Shadow 1 or 2! They are amazing! The SP-01 Tactical is good too but needs a little love from Cajun Gun Works or CZ Custom. The factory hook style triggers are a little pinchy.
I guess im confused as what to order. Id like one for my 19.
the full size version is what you need the 19 and 17 take the same trigger.
@@TacticalConsiderations i hope its the $90 kit. Thats what i ordered.
