    i like it when he said that never limit your awareness.. because that i was looking at myself.. im a martial man.. which is i learned silat.. so.. where ever i go.. i always aware about the surrounding.. not only that... every thing im wearing,.. i dont want my style, or my clothes too fit, too big..or we can say that my clothes making me hard to move.. and also i always has that mindset that if some one attacking me.. i must know how to use any thing that i got.. which is, my belt, my phone.. because all of this thing can be a weapon.. even my shirt.. if some one attacking me with a knife, i know what to do.. be prepare, beware of anything.. because we dont what going to happen soon as we step outside.. not only that in our safe house too...

    This is good stuff. I am surprised some people respond the way they do. I think some people have never been in a real street fight or have actually been jumped. If you are practiced and aware you can intercept a sucker punch even from a fast fighter, or at least move to dissipate the force of the hit and keep yourself in the game. As far as all the after effects this is necessary in a real life getting jumped situation. If you have time to square off with one guy at a time like this is boxing your not really getting jumped. Dispatching your enemies quickly and blending right into the next nearest guy is how you survive getting jumped. And if some 15yo punk wants to have anything to do with attacking me, even if he is just holding the camera, he is getting everything I have to give him, briefcase and all. There is an old saying: "If you grab a lions tail you better know what the hell you are doing".

    This is good stuff. Did you think about using the briefcase as a shield. Just something between you and the sucker punch. Then when he grabs the case to move it, you know where both his hands are for a second. Free shots. Love your stuff though. Thank you so much.

    I'm pretty sure this is legit, seeing as I see multiple techniques in this that we're taught in my school/dojo.

  • @silcrino
    @silcrino 7 років тому

    No disrespect - this is good for those with training, but the techniques need to be more simpler to complicated for the none trained. Awareness is a major problem followed by confidence and fear, but part of the problem is people are clueless when they walk or afraid to look forward and won't look at someone fearing it will draw an attack or some other comment.

    How about you see a group of kids and then you just walk away and avoid a possible law suit for beating up an underage kid....

    • @SuubUrbanNinja
      @SuubUrbanNinja  10 років тому +12

      Ahhh if it was only that easy. 1st of all what if the kids are in the direction I need to go? What I'm supposed to find a detour every time I see a group of kids? Not happening.Plus thats the typical mentality to give in to trouble makers instead of taking a stand. 2nd these kids seek out and pursue their victims with surprise attacks. 3rd what law suit, its legitimate self defense regardless of the age. Remember teenagers can sometimes be charged as adults. Rather that then wind up dead or hurt from a head injury from being knocked out and head hitting the street!

      blackbolo A true Ninjutsu practicioner would vow for staying away from the danger zone. Intelligence and awareness are the foundation of Ninjutsu.

    • @SuubUrbanNinja
      @SuubUrbanNinja  10 років тому +6

      Cyclohexane Again, sometimes the trouble is in your path and so you must handle it as it confronts you . And actually a true Ninjutsu practitioner would go into dangerous zones on purpose ,for example spying in enemy territory or infiltrating an enemy castle. That was not avoiding danger zones, they would go in knowing it was dangerous if caught, but prepared as best they could.So the same applies here, prepare as best you can.

    Are we supposed to take this seriously because it's presented by a man in a costume?
    We're told not to racially profile but threat evaluation is all about profiling by race, body language, group interaction etc. The moment you allow any sort of political correctness to bypass your innate instincts, you're lost.
    The next problem is that these are supposed to be strategies for use against attacks picked up in peripheral vision and they just aren't. First thing to note about responding to stuff in your peripheral vision is that you will have false positives (the guy who brushes his hair out of he eyes or looks at his watch as he passes you) and if you go throwing a block up and leaning off to one side when that happens, you're going to look pretty silly. Second thing to note is that whilst a big curving block will stop a right hand, you won't know which hand he is throwing and a left will come through.
    Better to concentrate on positioning and footwork and keep hand movements tight so you make distance, turn to face him and deal with anything he throws. Not only is this more effective but big movements attract attention and people will perceive you as the attacker which isn't good if it goes to court - and of course, in the event of a false positive, it's much easier to just say "Sorry man, I thought I recognised you" and be on your way than if you're stood there in a silly Karate Kid pose..
    Finally, this is supposed to be about dealing with a group attack scenario (hence all the silly kicking the air and swinging the imaginary briefcase) and yet, the technique employed involves closing the distance with the first attacker, entering into vertical grappling range and throwing. This is a strategy that carries a very high risk of being countered or dragged down to the ground along with the guy you are throwing - and the ground is the last place you want to be in a group attack because it will get you killed.
    Learn to hit REALLY HARD! and drop the bad guy rather than messing with him.
    Anyone wanting effective strategies for street self defence without going down the martial arts route needs to concentrate on threat evaluation, recognising and managing their own fear, conflict management, conflict resolution, set up and distraction strategies and premptive striking and I recommend that they look at scary people like Geoff Thompson or Lee Morrison to do that.
