    For those wondering, the counter to having such moves used on you is to clinch your fists, contract your limbs, and pull them back in towards your own torso. Be slippery, speedy, and uncontrollable.

    Respectfully my friend.
    These videos are a learning material so my instructor tries to do everything accurately, just the way he learned it from Doron Navon Shihan. Whether he succeeds or not is a different question. I would say he is very accurate, but maybe I am biased.
    Ninjutsu is supposed to work, sometimes fluidly, sometimes in a blunt way.

    I've often heard standing joint locks do not work. I understand the video was a demonstration of the different joint locks in the system. Do you teach how to apply standing joint locks when your opponent is resisting and stiffening up the arm, pulling the arm back, and doing everything to prevent the joint lock from happening?

  • @AkbanOrg
    @AkbanOrg  12 років тому

    @tequieroputa100 Good point.
    One necklock is at at the end of the clip. Leglocks in Ninjutsu are rare and so we'll video these only after finishing the basics.

      @ayam1maya Рік тому

      @@dwaneyocum1718 If you don't have solid technique committed to muscle memory, you will never pull it off, hence kata. Kata is an important anthrogogical element that is combined with degrees of sparring practice that is done with more or less control to facilitate learning and being able to execute under pressure. Media hype would have you believe sparring is the end-all-be-all, but this is false.

    I know your post is old already, but something I have experienced practicing those locks, they will work even if the partner is resisting, if you pull by many of those locks the opponents arm up, then pulling it down, watch the videos closely and you will see what I mean. This way you can relatively easy get through even if they are stiffening up the arm or so. And sometimes, if you really cant use a joint lock, well you know more, try something different. But those locks certainly work.

    @ninjalla be respectful friend. in many place you are not allowed a gun. and there ARE such things as gun disarms. so what then? and in many places there are conflicts where you are in too tight of quarters to draw a gun or even a knife for that matter. guns are good at a distance, agreed. but up close? with many (alot untrained) you wouldnt be able to get it out of the holster in time. and not justified in using it because it is a lethal weapon. just my humble thoughts, brother
