- Hello and welcome back to this Library of Ruina series. In this video, we're taking on Pluto. This is another cheese fight as the standard way to fight it is pretty terrible.

I like how the preferred strategy for this fight is the meme of Blockma, all because PM forgot to/didn't make Pluto immune to Lean Bloody Wings💀
I did manage to beat this fight using a team of librarians with decent key/combat pages equipped, it just took longer and required me to somewhat engage with the mechanics of the fight. With that method (and less counter dice on PT) I beat him 1-2 scenes after he started phase 2 . . . so even if you mess up Blockma you still get to skip half or more the fight.
yeah on my first playthrough I didn't know about the cheese and I did it legit. I don't remember it being particularly difficult, but I do remember it being extremely annoying. Nowadays I can't work up the will to attempt it legit so I just did blockma.
Ngl, I like pairing Contract: Liberty and Contract: Swiftness. The two go GREAT with each other on a blockma setup. Never even had to use ominous power, lmfao. (He kept reducing the 3 cost pages to 0 and 1 half the time)
Yeah Liberty is pretty great but it’ll occasionally backfire on you

I was unaware of this fight's mechanic going into it so I ran a myongest tanya deck and... uh... I had a bit of trouble to say the least. Still won though, tricked Pluto into saying "who the hell is Blockma".
Personally I agree with Pluto's page being hit or miss. I personally hate being restricted with contracts, so even despite it having Speed III and 4 light, I just use it as nuovo fabric fodder... Suspicious contract is pretty good though! Very nice for discard and defensive decks.

Yeah that's pretty much been my experience with Pluto's rewards. I don't like any of the contract effects so I never use his key page, and I don't use discard or endurance builds so I never used his combat page.
A throwaway librarian of mine survived til like Emo 5. Enough to pull off not one but *two* E.G.O attacks. What a man.

Remember when i said that i don't like using Binah's floor even tho the fight was easy? Well i hate this fight and i like using Hokma's floor which is sad
And i think even more pathetically is that i don't know what a blockma is at the time so yeah.... pain but to be fair it was 3 am when i beat the fight so...
Yeah doing this fight legit is pretty painful.
I'd like to add that pages that have "Deal X damage to target" can help chip down Pluto's hp, as they deal true damage. While you'd want to feed the shades only weak pages, I'd recommend to give your sacrificial nuggets some copies of Your Shield and Speared Sweep to try and win Clashes with Pluto, as those can easily be deflected by Blockma. (even though those extra points of damage won't matter much)
Yeah that'd be one way of doing it, I wanted the extra endurance from combat prep and guardian but both probably work fine
also would reccomend using penitence ego card if youre struggling with being staggered alot by shades having more attacks than you have counter dice since it heals 15 stagger and will kill or atleast stagger pretty much all the shades
Yeah penitence is a good catchup tool with the healing

So... funny story. Since all the shade got all the assistant Librarian's page and I wasn't able to keep most of them alive after scene 3, Pluto manage to get 9 enduring and out rolled Hokma's block on his block dice and killed him

A lot of people's issues with doing the fight "legitimately" seem to stem from them not building around the five contracts and not redirecting them to suit their will better. Light in particular is stupidly overpowered (I had Xiao mass attack spam on top of a really costly deck) if built around, and the others are simply pretty good and make your librarians a lot stronger (which I feel was the intention, as Shades are technically stronger than your Librarians, so you use contracts to make them stronger). Except Liberty. Screw Liberty.
That was also my introduction to singular strike which is an archetype I completely overlooked.
The fight isn't too difficult to beat standard if you've built your decks around the contracts, but building around the contracts is pretty annoying and either way the cheese is much faster :)
Making a consistent guide for the standard fight also felt like a pains so I didn't do it lol
i think time honestly works better as attention and focus can very quickly stagger you
Theoretically you should never lose a clash with your +4 defensive dice power from passives
i agree tbh since you can pick your cards very fast due to blockma being pretty braindead

just beat this using blockma and holy was the last few scenes stressful, idk why but suddenly all the dice on my purple tear were broken and had to pray to god that I get the dice unbroken asap and managed to win somehow
if you kill all the shades the next phase has some funky stuff that breaks your dice so it might've been that
Tried to use pluto against loland cus "hey it could be fun".
I must say that having yan die because it was out of pages to use light out wasnt fun at all

I just got two copies of serpentine barrier, 6 of opportunity spotted and 5 combat prep
the opportunity spotted and combat prep don't matter, only having 2 copies of serpentine barrier is a little unfortunate but you can probably just replace it with smoking pipe and just try to never use it.
@AilithNix I ended up switching iron wall in and it did just perfectly fine.
Real impressive and hokma can do with a purple dress and not a single attack dice
I manage to deal with him but ended up sucking at blue reverb. I guess i shouldn't have used myongest with purple tear

It's not necessary to use myongest on roland, lone fixer and gin passives can help you clutch the win alongside fervent beats
If you can use nikolai's mark then you also have a good shot at it.

should i use mei's passive instead 'cus his deflect is really strong there ? or i should focus on the small creeps first ?
you can use Mei's passive but it's not necessary. If you're using blockma then you cannot focus the adds.
did they patch this or am i just really fucking unlucky?
It works as intended, you need to make sure you assign all the contracts correctly and it should be consistent.

is there a recommended comp if you don’t have the purple tear to fight Pluto?
The easiest would be to redo Elena's fight without PT but you could try Myo with The Strongest, double defensive power, keeping in stride with the same build.

You can reset single fights, but if you just straight up don't have PT then it's probably not worth redoing the entire gauntlet
It resets every layer so you don't have to worry about that
I got annoyed cause I thought his ability flat summoned copies of your librarians, but the game decided to not just give Pluto a bunch of guys with low tier and low roll pages. So here I am, looking up the cheese. edit: On an ironic note, the pages you gave worked well enough to dunk on Pluto with 3 of my nuggets still standing.
Doing this fight the legit way is honestly waaaay more trouble than it's worth to be honest.

Make sure you have enough dice power and endurance, if you're struggling a lot then myongest might be worth trying out
@@AilithNix shouldn’t the strongest be saved for the Roland fight or does it reset?
You don't really need myongest for the last fight and can run 12 fixers, lone fixer, health hauler, electric shock. Worst case you can reset 1 level to try Pluto again without myongest.
@@AilithNixnow I think about it after I did it, why not use Noah bc they would all have 1hp and stagger?
If the shades die you go into phase 2 which you can't win solo iirc
