For me Lenses work in the scope of a set that would essentially cover 90% of my use cases without the need of having to rent.
With that in mind, let's start with a zoom set.
wide-angle zoom: currently have a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 and a 14-20mm f2. Had I known better, I would have gotten the 11-20mm f2.8. But the 14-20 mm f2 is definitely a keeper. I'm considering getting a second one but in the Nikon f Mount that I can pair with the .58x speed booster. If money was no object, I would definitely consider the cine version of the tokina 11-20mm f2.8
Standard zoom: sigma 18-35mm f1.8 and tokina 28-70mm f2.8 (parfocal zoom).
Tele-zoom: Canon 80-200 f2.8L (parfocal zoom) + Tokina 80-400mm f4.5-5.6. I've rented the Canon 70-300 L IS and loved its performance. Could definitely see myself buying one of those in the near future. But right now I've only needed it on projects where it made more sense to just rent it.
      With regard to prime set...
Ultrawide prime: currently don't have one here. When I've needed the focal length, I typically resorted to my action cameras. And if I needed the dynamic range then I would pop on the 11-16. I really liked the Laowa 7.5 f2 and Voigtlander 10.5mm. But I do want to check out some of The c-mount lenses from Kowa at 4.5 and 6mm. There's also the Laowa 6mm f2.
Standard prime: sigma 30mm f1.4 art. As a backup, the nifty 50 1.8, and four portability on the go, the 22 mm f2 pancake. I also really like the Canon EF 40mm f2.8 But on full frame. Not so much on crop sensor unless I'm using the full width of the sensor with a focal reducer. I do have on my list to check out the sigma 28mm f1.4 art, sigma 40mm f1.4 art, Voigtlander 29mm f0.8 (micro 4/3), Voigtlander 50mm f1 (e-mount), and samyang xp 50mm f1.2
Teleprime: currently love my FD 85mm f1.8. This focal length pairs very well with anything between 24mm and 35mm. Would love to test out the samyang xp 85mm f1.2. also want to get myself the samyang 135 mm f2 for Astro.
But, if I had to just pick one prime and one zoom - it's assuming just for personal use and not work related seminar recordings and things like that: The prime would be the sigma 30mm f1.4, and zoom would be the sigma 18-35mm f1.8. If I can throw a compact in there, it would be the 22mm f2.

@@khanceptbelal wow I wasn't expecting that.... 30mm f1.4 is definitely on my list. 18-35mm I know is a staple but I've never justified the weight. and 22mm I wasn't expecting that either but man that lens surprised me ALOT over the years, sometimes I wonder wow what lens was this? and it was the 22mm

I’m fascinated by what you’ve done here using the anamorphic adapter. I have the voigtlander 10.5 mm and shoot on a blackmagic OG, which has a S16 16 x 9 sensor.. I assume this would work With that camera which has a 2.88 crop sensor which would be fantastic. Do you think that might work?

@@DoublewideCinema I don't see why it wouldn't. The voigtlander is a mft mount.

I really liked the 10.5mm. I could definitely see myself buying that. Not sold on the 40mm though. I'm going to try the 29mm f0.8 from voigtlander made for micro four thirds as well as the 50 mm F1 on e-mount from voigtlander - which has a reputation of being sharper and a better performer than the 40mm.
