- Hi, I’m an international Korean guy living in Bangkok learning Thai language. Being a Korean, there are a few things in Thai language that I find very difficult. If you are also learning Thai, I hope this video is useful to you too and hope we can share some good learning techniques and tips with each other. Hi TJ! I think your Thai is already quite good. เขินเขิน > Ke(r)n Ke(r)n means feeling slightly embarrassed.
My advice is to also learn from the use of Thai in the day-to-day life. This is because spoken Thai is less strict, in terms of grammar usage and more flexible in structure. So if you only learn from the classroom, your Thai will sound very formal or less authentic. It is important to grasp the context; and in that way, you would feel less framed by all the tones and grammar. Thai people love it when you guys อ้อน or kinda sweet talk like you already do. So if you just keep talking in Thai to everyone you meet on the street or at the supermarket, you will learn more quickly. Anyway, please keep it up and good luck with learning Thai!
wow, thank you for taking the time to give me awesome advice and yes, I totally agree, classroom/textbook Thai is vastly different from spoken Thai (I feel like everyone has their own way to say things, like you said I'm starting to understand Thai is very flexible and fluid-like language, I was talking to a teacher today and I compared Thai language to LEGO blocks. hehe) yes, real life day to day conversation is what I need the most, thank you again very much Khun Panipol (just curious, do I know you by another name?)

Its "mutual understanding" between the people, I feel, underlines the characteristics of Thai (which in a way is similar to the idea of LEGO block - as long as they are "clicked, " it works. In many cases, we omit subjects in a sentence (like Chinese or Korean?) but we understand it anyway when put in the context. กินข้าวหรือยัง / กำลังไปไหนหรอ/ ใครเนี่ย Rarely people would use a full sentence in spoken words. That's why it best to learn from people. Have you considered having a tandem partner(s)? I like following on the cooking shows on UA-cam and I know a little bit about learning the new language, so I feel like I can contribute onto the topic a little bit. Thank you for your cooking show/theraphy. I am still looking forwards to the next one. You can speak Thai in it too if you want :D
