It was made when Legends was the only canon and had the right to oberwright whatever the creators wished. It's really unfortunate but that is the case. Heorge Lucas made this show, so it is T-canon (not cpunting last season) - above C canon which is the rest of EU.
Actually, season 6 is also part of Legends given that it was realised before 25.04.2014 - the day when new canon started. So you should have included it if you wanted to tie in TCW at all. Anything made before that date can be considered Legends, including the Son of Dathomir comic book from dark horse (which is also part of the new canon).

Honestly, I highly prefer Siri over Satine as Obi-Wan's love interest. While Obi-Wan only met Satine a few times in their childhood, he and Siri practically shared their lives for twenty years, making her death really devastating. The fact Obi-Wan lost the two loves of his life in the same war without turning to the dark side makes him a far more respectfull character.

Noone survives being cut in half as Maul was. It was a death. Cool as the character was, one of the biggest weaknesses of Star Wars is that they somehow can't let their dead actually die.
Part of me wishes they contextualized his story better to show why he was struggling so much at the starting point of this new series. There’s so much from his awesome story to be told from canon that it would lend beautifully to the complexities of the character and his relationship with the other important characters. Arguably the most important Jedi in all of Star Wars.
Obi-Wan's story and character will always resonate me because he is basically just a regular guy (as far as force sensitives/jedi go) thrown into a main character role with such a huge part to play
The only things I really think disney did better by changing are the way Yaddle dies (Dooku killing her) and the more minor thing of that jedi make their lightsabers as younglings and then some change it during apprenticeship.

However, the inclusion of TCW 2008 bugs me still, even if the show is still great (just only in the lens of Disney Canon/Alt-universe standards). Also, some name mangling, but I can take that into stride easily.
Well, in the old canon, George Lucas or his minions' stuff were always independant from Expanded Universe and always took precedence. So the parts of TCW that he included here are part of Legends continuity, even if they contradict some previous stuff.
Doesn't mean i lke it though, they changed too much they didn't have to, like Darth Maul's backstory or General Griveous. Ashoka was a cool change though.
As much as I love TCW, it contradicts the entire Clone Wars era in the EU/Legends including Post-ROTJ to a degree. I mean really TCW really fucked the consistency of the EU/Legends lore and continuity. Seriously Filoni seems to not give a shit about continuity as he seems to ignore what not to do by the lore keeper to avoid continuity errors. He is also more or less doing this in the current Disney Canon with TCW season 7 contradicting the Ashoka novel in the final episodes and the Bad Batch contradicting the Kanan Jarrus comics. Let's not forget inhibitor chips and the base run on the mill Clones themselves in TCW contradicting AOTC.

This makes me question why Disney didn't decide to maintain two continuities at once, I mean Marvel did it when they introduced the Ultimate Universe.

Rebels show, Kenobi show, the disney sequels, tcw season 7 and everything else (aside from visions and swtor) created after 2014 (when the cabon was changed) is part of the new canon only. The last time we see Maul in Legends is when he escapes from Palpatine and Dooku with the help of death watch. We can assume his fate was simmilar to his new canon counterpart but it was never officially explained.
Obi Wan should have finished Anakin on Mustafar and with that he would have avoided the death of hundreds of beings, especially Jedis. But he let his emotions consume him. But he was, together with Yoda, one of the most powerful Jedi of the entire order. And so much so that defeated Darth Vader twice
The only reason why Anakin still continued being a Sith Lord was because he had nothing left for him. If he had something left, he’d fucking ditch palpatine like he did for his son in ROTJ. Poor Obi Wan
