      If you dont get into PAthA try HT or HLT programs, we do the same things as PAs and make 30-40hr.

    I'm late here I know, but very accurate video and very well presented. You are an intelligent, well rounded young lady and you are going to have a great life and career! My daughter recently completed PA school, and here in 2023 the salary is much higher. Right out of school, she got a position at a local hospital making $140k/year...at 25 yrs old. The PA's with more time are making around $170k. The demand/need and competition between hospitals is there, and the salaries have reflected that and went up fast. She loves it. It is a selective field, and it's very competitive getting into PA school....most schools only accept 16-20 students out of 80-100 applicants. Don't be afraid to take a "gap" year(similar to med school students) and use that year to go work in the field. My daughter spent a year, after graduating with her BS in Bio, working in a Path Lab as a full time job. I firmly believe that work experience made her stand out in the interview/admissions process and played a huge role in her getting selected. Also, from now until 2033, the job growth for PA's is projected to be 28%. It's in demand

      This is super helpful! I just recently went back to college after having a 5 year gap due to financial difficulties, I'm currently working towards my BS in bio. I've had my heart set on being a PA for years but this comment made me rethink!! I just don't like the lack of choices I have for schools, and the fact that I'm almost 30 now and I really dont want to spend most of my 30s in school. I'm definitely gonna look into your prefesssion!💖

I have 8 hours of Autopsy experience currently with no other shadowing experience but I did get in touch for virtual shadowing so I will do that. Im also a little worried about my GPA. My prerequisite GPA is around a 3.75 but cumulative is lower at 3.58 so a tad worried about how competitive I'd be in the process. I was also curious about the 5 narrative statements. What kind of pictures should we put for those? Maybe a picture of me shadowing or at the lab. and the rest something personal? I feel like they were vague on that bit

      You would have to inquire with the schools in regards to taking any additional classes (or updating your classes if you took them too long ago?) if you don't have the necessary prereqs (I bet you do). PA schools are 2 years (1 didactic and one in clinical rotations).

    • @vp926
      @vp926 Рік тому

      You must go to these schools for PathA. However, there are only 16 PathA schools in North America, so they are extremely competitive! Don't go to PA (Physician Assistant) School, because you have to take a year of bedside clinical rotations at a hospital or clinic!
