Yep. Strip and Convention Center Drive is my go-to for cheap & convenient clothing. Just a few stops on the Deuce bus from anywhere on the Strip. And it's next to a large Walgreens, to pick up any meds you forgot, foot blister gel plasters (if you know, you know), late-night munchies and tacky souvenirs.

I live in PA and here you have 2 types of ppl. The first is the type that have the heat on if it’s 60 degrees out and the second is the type that won’t even put on a sweater unless it’s under 30 degrees. The best time I’ve heard to go to Vegas is between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Days probably in the 60s and nights in the 40s. Perfect weather
I used to go to casinos (not LV) and I would hear - "This machine hasn't hit for a while, it's due to hit, you should play it!" And "This machine is hot, you should play it!"
Back in the 2000s I went through orientation with a newly built casino. They debunked the oxygen pumping myth, BUT they did say that the HVAC system on the casino floor was designed to keep the air as fresh and smoke-free as possible. It worked. Even when I was dealing to a table full of smokers, the smoke mostly went straight up and away instead of lingering in the air right over the table.
That's really nothing special. I've been to bars that had that good of ventilation that people sitting at the same table couldn't smell the cigarettes another person was smoking. Thing is, the rabid dogs hating on smokers didn't care about that, they wanted to treat smokers like they're evil....many people can't mind their own damned business.
I went to jail back when smoking in jail was a thing. The exhaust was awesome, which was super evident when it broke for a day. It's just good practice to have adequate air quality anywhere.
Most, if not all, of the hotel outdoor pools, tend to be closed from November to March. Even if it is much warmer than where you live. It is still considered too cool to go swimming or sunbathe. Just because you see a promotional photo of Santa Claus and some bikini elves by the pool in December doesn't make it true. It may seem warm to you, but the daytime high gets to the high 50's and the overnight low dips into the 30's. We even get a few snowflakes. They don't usually stick, but sometimes they do.
I spent over 50 years in Darwin in the tropical Northern Territory of Australia - where navigating the footpaths (sidewalks) is difficult if the temp drops to an incredible 25°C / 77°F because of the pathetic frozen bodies of the worthy denizens of Darwin littering the streets.
I’ve found the “fun” of gambling to be short lived. You’ll be able to tell when you start to get on edge that you’re being played and it’s time to step away because it’s not fun anymore. If you’re going for the food and you’re on Las Vegas Blvd, map out your places in advance. Don’t count on the bus service if she has a scooter, the drivers keep really close to the schedule and of course, you’ll find all kinds of people sleeping in the street elevators. My wife was there last year.
Thanks for the update on the lies about LV. Every time I visit in Dec or Jan I always see someone in shorts and flip flops freezing because they think the desert/LV is always hot. What is weird is that most of these people also have smart phones and can check the weather before they head to LV.
I live in rural Alaska, and I have visited Vegas 3 times so far and plan to visit every year. A week there is cheaper than a week in Alaska, not to mention it's the opposite of where I live.
one of the coolest free things to do is just wandering around in the various casinos. like New York New York (dressed as a borough), Paris (looks like the streets of paris), and the other casinos. One thing that some people dont realize is that many of the casinos are connected and you dont always have to go outside, this is especially helpful during the summer). Vegas has a monorail that stretches from mgm to the sahara and stratosphere though the stations can be a bit out of the way. it is something to consider.
If your kid runs around unsupervised and winds up under my “under the influence” feet…is it my fault? Last Christmas I was in LV and almost ran over several 3-12 year olds on a daily basis. Kids just set free on the paths they are allowed on through the middle of the casino. It’s not a place for kids. Especially undisciplined. Parents right there giving me the crook eye.
@@TurnItUpWorld well they kept them off the floor itself but those crowded walkways that veer by the restaurants were where the congregated. Entire families stood across the walkways and the kids were just running all over the place. Sadly this makes me Sound like an old man and I’m far from it!! Never mind how dirty that floor is the kids are rolling around on. Just some common sense and wariness of the situations from the parents is all I’d ask.
I don't know if you have ever pointed it out, as I just found this channel (and subscribed), but as a fellow Las Vegan, I was surprised to find out how green Las Vegas is. Most of Las Vegas is powered by renewable energy, and the water conservation (toilet to tap) that Las Vegas practices means that we (in Vegas) really don't have a water problem... we have an Arizona problem. Something like +80% of the water we take from lake Mead we give back... it is an amazing story of sustainability!
Don’t just automatically expect to be able to go the Grand Canyon from Vegas. You can easily get blocked by snow. I saved my wife’s girl trip last year by recommending they go to Valley of Fire State Park (which is beautiful in its own way) after the road to the Grand Canyon was closed.

We also got our average half inch of snow (doesn't stick) some time in the winter. I took the time to double-check this with the weather service records. I don't know how you missed it.
On the weather topic, The winds/gusts we get in certain months can be horrible, keep your hats on tight. Be careful of foolding, not just in parking lots. In addition slower, when it does rain in vegas due to the heat of vegas, tires will go bald, making it way easier for people to hydroplane when it rains.
In regards to the drinking in public, I had someone tell me in Vegas (Local) that you cant just drink outside (loiter) you have to keep walking or moiving between properties for casinos on the strip. Fremont/Downtown might be different but the rules and liquor license are for the property itself and not the outside
I lived in Arizona, just 30 miles from Laughlin, and the story was always that during busy times, special events, etc. the casinos would "tighten up" all the slots, thus reducing your odds of winning. I guess they thought it was just something like turning an adjustment screw or knob!
@@VanessaLoveCounselor They are now electronic, and programmable, but what isn't these days! One very bad misconception is that what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas. What that actually means is that you can have sex with an escort and there’s a good chance they won’t tell your wife. God bless Norm!
Las Vegas is an amazing spectacle, great place for a short stay. We miss rain and the ocean so we're moving back to Portland. But please enjoy Vegas for what it is!

Upon our arrival, our phones will read " Paradise" and back in 2019, my hubby and I went to The Hoover Dam..it was hot but what a sight to see!! My daughter and I always find cheap eats there! I love to visit for the shows and we were there when the weather was a bit chilly...especially at night..so we came prepared with jackets and pants! We'll be there in a few weeks...staying at The Flamingo...we usually stay at The Bellagio....but I told myself to give another hotel a chance😅Great Video as ALWAYS!!
great video :) we dont have resort fees at our hotels in australia, we can use all of the hotel facilities like the swimming pool, tennis courts, gyms . etc for the one cost of our room.
@@hoodatdondar2664 we would love to have you here :) australia is such a beautiful country and every state here has a different landscape and flora and fauna to the rest of australia. i live in tasmania, which is similar in ways to new zealand but then you travel to one of the big cities interstate like sydney or melbourne, its full of big tall buildings, then queensland parts of it are tropical with the most stunning beaches. its just such an amazing and beautiful country,
I live in NM, but I worked in Vegas a lot. Here in NM we get up at the crack of dawn and wake up the roosters. Nothing in Vegas opens before 9, and if you are staying out of town you are better off going into town at 11 AM. Forget about finding an open seat in any restaurant in Vegas in a Friday night. Maybe at the counter if you sine alone. Offer 2/3 of the asking price of anything at any pawn shop. They almost always take it.
As an occasional visitor to Vegas, I don't hate resort fees. I get why they're there, and even with them included in the price Vegas hotels are relatively cheap. What I dislike is that they advertise the price without them included. It's misleading for them to advertise $40 a night and then end up charging you double that.
A couple more lies I hear a lot are, 1-The strip is dirty and gross. Which is totally not true, while like many places in the world there are definitely areas that can feel gross but for the most part the strip is actually quite beautiful and clean! 2-all there is to do is drink and gamble! My husband and I never gamble and rarely drink because they are both so expensive. We go for the activities, shows, entertainment, and atmosphere!
Having lived in both places, I can honestly say Reno is better than Vegas. It's cleaner, it doesn't get stupid hot in Summer (but it does snow in Winter, so be prepared for that), and the slots are looser.
gambling areas not for kids. every hotel has elevators to the rooms which go through the gambling areas. You also have to breathe in vast quantities of cigarette smoke when walking near the gambling areas.
NEW subscriber here! You 2 are so much fun! I lived in Las Vegas for a whole year back in 1986. It was fun, but I went back to Ohio because I missed my family. Then I was married there in 2007 and it was really fun! Are we still married? YES WE ARE!!! We might be coming back for a visit in 2025.
Pack layers any season you go. Summer can reach 110 of higher, but it can also drop below 90 at night and the wind (Vegas can have wind gusts up to 100 mph) can make it feel very chilly. You’ll want either long sleeve shirts or a light jacket then.
This got me thinking of an old comment years ago. Some people beleive that Las Vegas and Reno were right next to each other. I ask them how close they thought was close. The person commented; like next door towns. I gently laugh and help explain that "yes they are the same state; but are far apart. Ether over 5 hour drive between; or 1hr plane flight. It can be done in one day, but not next to each other"
Seven hour drive. Check out the extrarestrial convenience store on the way to Reno. The Alien Brothel is next door. You will see some weird stuff driving to Reno.
Difference between now and twenty years ago is you really need to work to not get fleeced for everything you do. Back then it was easy to eat, drink and gamble without a big budget.
In my 50's I used to vacay in LV for a week 2X a year for 10 years. But turning 60 I quit. The reason was the all day air travel ordeal from back east here. Drive to the airport, find a place in long term parking, get the shuttle to the terminal. Check my bag at the curb then a long walk to go thru TSA and another long trek to my gate where they want you to check in an hour before the flight. Finally you board the plane for a 5 hour flight. After deplaning another long walk to baggage claim, Then another shuttle to the rental car place find your car and drive to the casino. Then another long line to check in before finally collapsing in the room. At the end of the week you do the whole thing again in reverse going home plus losing 3hrs with the time zones. I can drive to Atlantic City door to door in 3hrs flat in my own comfort. I did that many times before going to check out Vegas, I'm not doing all that anymore. AC ain't LV but it'll do.
You mention that oxygen is flammable, it is not highly flammable. It will accelerate a flame (cigarette) if concentrates in sufficient amounts (like in the oxygen tents).

Vegas neighbors tend to keep to themselves, but are always welcome to help. Lived there 19 years and made friends with all my neighbors. They did their thing and I did mine but when needing help, we were always there for each other.
Hope to see you at the Circa next week celebrating my 60th birthday!!! Love you guys!!!!❤
The Circa is an outstanding choice! I've stayed at the Circa 2x. Love it.
Thanks so much and congratulations on your 60th birthday! We would love to wish you a happy birthday in person, but unfortunately we are going to be on the road out of town.

Vegas is no place to bring your kids
They just dont want the kids to play the machines and start winning big.
There are many kid and family friendly things to do in LV.
@ Las Vegas I guess yeah that would be OK but definitely not a strip and definitely not downtown. This is not made for kids.
The old Imperial Palace Casino used to be where the Linq is
Known for hiring retired strippers as cocktail waitresses. Many of them had some career-related enhancenments. The IP was known to some locals as the ‘zeppelin hanger’…am I banned yet? It’s just local history.
Oxygen supports combustion but it is not flammable. Great video BTW!
Thanks for clarifying, we appreciate it! I suppose the point is that if someone lit up a cigarette in 100% oxygen it probably wouldn’t be a great situation.
@@TurnItUpWorldAll that would happen is the cigarette would burn faster. Oxygen doesn't burn....it just makes things burn faster.
When you go, be sure to go to Red Rock Canyon. Beautiful
Its funny when you go to Vegas when its "cold" and all of the locals are freezing , and I am wearing shorts
One very bad misconception is that what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas. What that actually means is that you can have sex with an escort and there’s a good chance they won’t tell your wife. God bless Norm!
Great video thanks for sharing❤❤❤
Thanks so much Rosemarie! Your support means a lot to us!! 😀
Thanks for the info! Just suscribed 😉👍
You’re very welcome Anna! Thank you for subscribing!!
Las Vegas is a giant theme park catering to adults, that is the best description for it.
Love it! 😀😀😀
Do you know how to come home from Vegas with a small fortune? Go with a Large Fortune!!! 🤣
All fun and interesting points....I still have a rule that a grandchild must be 21 before they join me in Vegas...😊
Carol, thanks for sharing, we can understand that rule! 😀
Make it 25!😂
I took my 17 & 18 year old grandsons to Vegas and we were busy every day!! There is a lot on and off the strip for the under 21 to do. Four full days.
@@lanet9442 fair point...closer to adult..I can handle
Absolutely true. Needed jackets for my daughter's. Got them on the strip at Ross!!! Ballin on a budget 😅
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
You are very welcome!
Thanks guys for the info….

Can we take a moment to talk about that awesome Buc-ee’s shirt?! 👍

Y'all have such infectious personalities and a great vibe I watched y'all for hours and subscribed.😊😊😊😊
Vegas neighbors are generally private, but always ready
I won't get suckered by those "fill the pots" games
😂😂😂
I only play Bar and Poker Slots!
Las Vegas is an amazing spectacle, great place for a short stay. We miss rain and the ocean so we're moving back to Portland. But please enjoy Vegas for what it is!
Hi! Love this video. Lucky for me, I already know all these . Thanks for all the information though.👍👍
Great duo
I keep up with the weather there in Vegas.....coming from Cincinnati!
I really love this video thanks.
Good video, thanks :)
great video :) we dont have resort fees at our hotels in australia, we can use all of the hotel facilities like the swimming pool, tennis courts, gyms . etc for the one cost of our room.
That’s the way to do it. I want to visit Australia. One day!
Offer 2/3 of the asking price of anything at any
pawn shop. They almost always take it.
NM has a "Vegas" too lol
Glad you seem to be feeling better. Thanks for all the great work you guys do
As an occasional visitor to Vegas, I don't hate resort fees. I get why they're there, and even with them included in the price Vegas hotels are relatively cheap. What I dislike is that they advertise the price without them included. It's misleading for them to advertise $40 a night and then end up charging you double that.
Great video!
You forgot Mt Charleston! My fave
Those Hot Dogs they were consuming looked so good! I can live off Hot Dogs if given only 1 food item for survival.
You can live on hot dogs.......but not that long 😊

Great info Tanya and Dave! 😊❤
There was a guy tubing in the flood channel at the linq a few years back…. 🤮
Having lived in both places, I can honestly say Reno is better than Vegas. It's cleaner, it doesn't get stupid hot in Summer (but it does snow in Winter, so be prepared for that), and the slots are looser.
i stayed at the Linq last time, and that explanation makes sense....but why did it smell like sewer water? We were there in February...
Thanks for sharing, the smell sounds gross. Where did you smell it?
I'm still amazed that in the year 2024, Nevada is the only state where it is legal to gamble state wide. For some reason, that astounds me.
From Obi-Wan when he first saw the city: "a wretched hive of scum and villainy." ;-) LOL
gambling areas not for kids. every hotel has elevators to the rooms which go through the gambling areas.
#7, as a retired Resp. Therapist Oxygen in itself is not combustible. It does however support combustion big time in fires.
Pack layers any season you go. Summer can reach 110 of higher, but it can also drop below 90 at night and the wind (Vegas can have wind gusts up to 100 mph) can make it feel very chilly. You’ll want either long sleeve shirts or a light jacket then.
why would you go outside in 100 mph wind gusts that would be dangerous? 90 and 110 are pretty much the same temperature, which is hot!
Las Vegas has never had 100 an hour winds. 60 to 70 at the highest. I have lived in Las Vegas for 53 years.
Lol the flooding behind imperial palace was the same way. Used to work at Harrahs
Vegas is a great place to have fun. As long as you don't gamble.
Great video as always
This got me thinking of an old comment years ago. Some people beleive that Las Vegas and Reno were right next to each other. I ask them how close they thought was close. The person commented; like next door towns. I gently laugh and help explain that "yes they are the same state; but are far apart. Ether over 5 hour drive between; or 1hr plane flight. It can be done in one day, but not next to each other"
Seven hour drive. Check out the extrarestrial convenience store on the way to Reno. The Alien Brothel is next door. You will see some weird stuff driving to Reno.
Reno is 450 miles north of Vegas. I always laugh at people when I tell them I live in northern NV and they say, "Oh, Vegas huh?".
I went to LV last December. The temp never got above 67. It was great.
Last time I gambled in Vegas was a few days ago. I got 21 at the Black Jack table on my first two hands, and walked away with $30 extra dollars.
Following now
Thanks!
I don’t like Las Vegas much. But it is fun for a very short visit.
Keep your eyes on your purse.
This was a great video
Can't wait to go back to Vegas thank yall
You mention that oxygen is flammable, it is not highly flammable. It will accelerate a flame (cigarette) if concentrates in sufficient amounts (like in the oxygen tents).
Blame Hollywood for making people that don't know shit about chemistry believe that oxygen burns.
Last time I stayed in Vegas i shared a room with Wayne Newton and there was no fees or anything. So tip 1 just shake your ass at his show. 😂😂😂
Planet Hollywood has a number of restaurants that have good food and you can get at cheap prices.
Subpar rooms, food is shoveled slop. But all in all, it was fun in a cheezie way.
Oxygen isn't flamable itself, but it does make flamable things burn much more easily, and burn with a hotter flame.
Thanks so much for clarifying! Yes, we were really thinking about how it helps make things burn more easily.
