Thanks so much for the useful information - yoou always give us what we need! Hi Tanya and Dave, Thanks so much for sharing this pertinent infirmation! You guys are the best! TO THE BEST COUPLE IN THE WORLD! 🌍 from Tricee in Virginia Beach, Virginia ⛱️⛱️⛱️
We used to visit Vegas 2-3 times a year and had the best times there! The last visit was February 2022. I was so alarmed at what a rip off it was. The homeless people were everywhere and hotels did not have enough staff to keep them out of the casinos and washrooms. Everything seemed dirty like the glass doors going into the hotels and the sidewalks littered with trash. I witnessed a man in his underwear darting out onto the strip trying to get hit by a car, people laying on the sidewalks etc. I won't be back
Thanks for an informative video ! Contacting a ‘live’ MGM employee fee is ridiculous. Sometimes everyone has to contact a property to clarify a reservation. The other fees are annoying but I still feel that Vegas prices are no different than any other major tourist city. . It’s still possible to have a great time in Vegas without spending a fortune. .
If everyone deducted the employer fee and other fees restaurants charge from the tip, that'll get the waiters and waitresses to complain to management and maybe change the policy.
Just booked vegas for Feb. Went for a nice apartment through Airbnb 1 mile from the strip for around the same price as a budget hotel room for 6 nights. Free parking and no resort fees plus more space 👍🏼
rio having a resort fee is a tough sell, place is empty and in rough shape. Closed stores, empty hotel, expensive drinks, crap odds at the tables ... They should try and fill the place before raising prices and fees
That was when Caesar's owned the place and let it go to rot like they do all their properties except Caesars. But the new owners have been very busy and are committed to fixing it up. So far they've redone the rooms and many of the common areas as well as revitalized the exterior with new paint and lighting. That's just the beginning. The new owners seem fully committed to making the Rio at minimum, a 4 start resort. You need to take another look at it.
I was just in Vegas and went to the Mexican restaurant on the Linq promenade. I noticed a small concession fee disclaimer on the sign out front but was willing to ask for the fee to be removed after the meal. I tried asking the server, he said he'd ask the manager. He came back and said nothing with the fee still on the bill. So I figured out the tip, minus the fee and that was the tip. Something's got to be done with all the extra nickel and dime fees.
Great video. Thanks for sharing this to the world. Heres the issue. I just sign up for free MGM rewards card online prior to book Cosmopolitan hotel in vegas... In there are option ... discounts for military and seniors and other option is discounts for MGM members and so on.... If i was to click and choose MGM members for discount in the Cosmopolitan hotel. The suite i want will not display the Wraparound fountain view suite.,... But the room suite is available if i do not click on the MGM membership discount area by clicking the (flexible price) or whatever option name was.... which means pay the best price available with Cosmo for that suite. Now that i book that suite..... Even though i have a new MGM membership... the amount im going to spend at this suite in the next few months time on my holidays means i have to pay the best price deal that Como shown online.... But thats the issue... why didnt this suite was available by clicking options in the comopolitan online ? i could of gone much cheaper per night stays...But that suite dosnt apear to be available. But it does if you dont use the MGM.... very chicky and very interesting role play with hotels.... By the way Fees and tax are crazy they should give up putting crazy fees and taxes........ So there you go a slight trick by the hotel itself.... i guess why bother create a new account for MGM if at the end of all this... its not available suite if i click MGM price deals for the Como... but it does if i click the (The best price deal) which is the one i clicked on. But also be aware of other things... If the Suite was available for a August 2025 and was available with MGM membership price option the catch to this means u will get a discount but you will have to follow the rules by having to spend money at the restaurant by spending such a mount of money by also drinking at the bar by spending money if you want the suite to be discounts. So for me that is not an ideal way for a TRUE really discount at all... because at the end of the day you have just spend the same amount with and without the MGM membership. Look at the Como website... look for the suite you want.. in this case the wrap around suite fountain view.... it doesnt apear to be available for MGM members but you have other options to select other type rooms instead..... You see what i mean? so i think its a trick to convince u ways to book things. And like i just said... if that suite was available for MGM price deal then you still have to follow the rules to get that discount on the day you arrive to the Como hotel.. which means u have to spent a mount of money at the 5 star restaurant and bar and all that. So at the end of the day your still spending the same amount close enough to and without the MGM card............ Anyways the suite i want is been reserved... Now im worried what if the Hotel lift the fees and tax higher ? I booked this suite for 2 people for August 2025... its been reserved.. They already took 1 night off my credit card. the rest i must pay it in person at the hotel. Will they force me to pay more tax and fees even though i preserved and know the price already on email ? or will it be much higher then that ? so if its 8,000 dollars total... will the fees and tax be higher and have to pay more without notice ? that 8,000 is already includes the tax and fees. But im worried they would lift it more without me knowing a thing. Or does this mean the booking has been reserved and the price is frozen which means thats what im going to pay with no hidden lies next ? So i booked it last night. 8,000 and its also the suite and the tax and fees.... I will be at the cosmo in August 2025.. a few months away. I gt an email confirmation with the booking they took 1st night off my credit card and now i must pay the rest of the nights... But will they lift the tax and fees over my booking? Or they will not because i reserved the price deal when booking it online ?
I noticed Ole Red has an entertainment fee. It is in small print on the menu. I didn't think to ask to have it removed. Whenever I eat at Cabo Wabo I always ask for the CNF fee to be removed and it's never been a problem.
Great advice...thanks, heading to Vegas tomorrow...staying at Durango and Red Rock.....I have Caesar's privilege as a Seven Star, waived resort fees, internet, and free parking, but it's such a hassle to get there.....guess I'm getting old 😂😂but I prefer the Red Rock over the strip hassle. If I have an offer at Caesars I'll go there, but my stay is at Red Rock.....it's so comfortable, spacious and I can play all of the "old" Buffalo I want too😊. Anywhoo, thank you for these type of videos, they are short, sweet, and very informative.

Hi. Saw your video. At the restaurants in Paris LV we were told that the CNF fee was in restaurants that are not owned or affiliated with the resort because they have to pay that casino a lease fee
I don't understand why fees, tips etc aren't added into the room rate... Then it's just one price, no surprises for guests...that's what happens in the many other countries.
I love the Gold Coast which does not charge resort fees on comped rooms! Besides the excellent Steak House and Bar in the rear they have other nice restaurants and you dont have to deal with the craziness of the strip!
i read comments all the time about how folks won't go to Vegas because of the fees. well the numbers don't show the fees affecting visitor numbers so there is no incentive to do anything but raise them .
@@URKlewlessit's not a stupid comment to state the fees are bullshit. What _is_ stupid though is paying all those fees. That's for suckers! I've been to vegas twice but, won't even consider going back unless those fees go away.
Actually, visitor numbers were slightly down in August from the year prior so maybe people are beginning to revolt. Only time will tell if it becomes a real trend.
20 years ago I stayed one month in Budget Suites of America, it was not far from the strip. I think then one month was less than 800usd. Not bad. I dont know how much they today if they even exist. I love Vegas, esp the amazing gyms! cheers from Finland.
Our Resort fee at Delano in December is $19.25 so not too bad but when we move to Cosmo its $50. Fortunately we comped at both as its a long hoof from the UK. Fees and tip percentages in the US is getting out of control so any fee I see comes off of any tip.
What the 🤬. Soon people will just visit Vegas and leave after gambling and eating because here comes the speed train from L.A to Vegas...let's see what they do then...
I’d recommend avoiding Vegas and just explore the rest of Nevada: Lake Tahoe, Great Basin NP, etc. Nevada is such a beautiful state and Vegas has lost its charm
All these sucker fees are 8:50 so disgusting. As a longtime Vegas visitor going back to the 1990's, I feel totally bilked by the greed of Vegas proprietors. Glad my days there are almost over...I so enjoyed this great, fun city for years...far cheaper than today.
I stopped visiting Vegas years ago and have no desire to go back. Used my loyalty status with a casino brand and started going on cruises. For a seven night sailing, with cabin, food, basic drinks, paying crew tips in advance, show included, trip insurance, etc, my wife and I pay right at $100 a day and get $200 of onboard stateroom credit. Try doing that in Vegas.
These sneaky fees are the reason why I would rather go to a local casino near my home and get comp rooms with no resort fees and no taxes, sure it’s not the glitz and glam of Vegas, but at least I don’t have to give up a kidney to enjoy my self. Corporate Greed.
Good episode. Resort fees and tipping workers is my big hate. The resort fees I can get waived because I gamble, but tips to server even at fast food services? If I see it on the bill I ask it be taken off and they do. They are fast food servers and it's not a fine restaurant. Don't get gouged speak up.
Vegas doesn’t get my business anymore. I was going 1-3 times a year for years since around 1995 eventhough my first trip was 1978. What used to be an adventure in the only adult oasis has now become a fee riddled , Disneyland with gambling. It was fun while it lasted. In Canada, no fees, no smoking, no tax on winnings (any amount), no kids, no pets, no resort fee (they hold $100 on your card ,but don’t charge it when you check out) For a Canadian and some other visitors, by the time you buy USD exchange, flight and all the fees , plus the strip and casino chaos it is to costly for a place they expect you lose your money gambling. To bad, had some fun times back in the day, and 1978,when the mob was there, let me tell you it was magically different on lol levels.
Hey You guys my wife reminded me when we went to Vegas in January, we stayed at the MGM Grand, and we had already called and booked our room. We specifically asked on the phone, if there were any suprise fees at check in and we were assured, no. When we checked in, we were told there is a $100 a night deposit...wow...we were not happy. So that's our story. Let people know MGM isn't so honest and didn't make it right. We will stay at the Bellagio next time.
Bellagio is going to do the same. Pretty much all hotels in Vegas take a certain amount of money and put it in escrow as a hedge against damages or unpaid bills. Once you check, out and your haven't wrecked the place, you get your money refunded within 7 business days.
Im Canadian and they will loose becuse at 4 days At 60$. I stay two blocks off the strip no fee. Taxi total 20$ a day for a total of $80. And maybe walk once to save even more. Plus you sleep a lot better without the racket.
i have a stupid question, i'm planning my vegas trip, i went on airbnb.... how do u find mgm signature? .... i looked couldn't find it.... all of these fees are so ridiculous its dissuading me from coming to vegas😔.... you can go to europe or on a cruise for what they are charging you nowadays....😔
Thanks, good question. We have had success searching MGM Signature in the app. The Elara is very nice as well if you are looking for an apartment style stay.
Someday they’ll reach a tipping point where Vegas will be unaffordable for the average person and slowly people will stop coming. Then and only then will Vegas Casinos start to reduce or eliminate fees altogether. It’s a greedy money grab no matter what you call it.
The employee benefits fee is insidious because the owners make crazy amounts of money already and adding that fee makes it seem like it's employees asking for the bare minimum benefits are what drove up pieces, when the owners could always afford the benefits, theyre just greedy and dont wanna pay
@turnupworld have you fabulous folks been to Lake Las Vegas, either the Westin or Hilton resorts. If so, or if not, please do a vid on the property? Pretty please! Keep on truckin yall, I love your Vegas advice ❤
Business must be very good since they are so comfortable tipping off their customers. They used to have a lock on gambling, but now you can gamble all over the country. Vegas is not special anymore.
All these places are passing on the cost of doing business to their costumers. I've asked several hotels what a resort fee was. I rarely get a straight answer. It's a gimmick to make the price of a room sound cheaper than it is. Also, why are we subsidizing health insurance for people in some places? I have to pay for mine, and my employer picks up the other half. Being a nurse, patients would not so quickly go along with an employee health benefit fee on their medical bills.
Tourist staying at MGM : Excuse me sir /mam ? Do you work here ? MGM employee : Yes I do Tourist : Can you tell or point the way to the pool ? MGM Employee : That will be 5 dollars in cash or 10 dollars added to you room as a service charge
We learned the hard way lol some restaurants on party of 6 or more automatically charge a 18% or more gratuity fee wtf! For our bill last time was 60 dollars for that gratuity fee I was not happy about that
if they add all these fees its donna be passed on to the workers O tax I waited ten min at a gift shop why they were on the phone two bottled water 8 bucks no tip
Wow, Vegas is out pricing themselves. There are so many other Casinos to go to with hotels and restaurants. Why do I need to pay for someone’s benefits and/or their salary? I will not stay anywhere that charges a resort fee without comping the room. They want you to pay for a room and then lose money in their casino. That is insane!!!
I've noticed off strip that some restaurants are now charging you more if you pay by credit card. Even my cheap Chinese restaurant asks "will that be cash or credit" before giving me the total now. Is this also happening on the strip?
In some Hotels from The IHG Group they have a daily Amanity Fee for fresh towels and showergels hairshampoo and soap between 15 $ up to 43 $ additional tax ! I Pay 35 $ in a Holliday Inn hotel in New York City Thats male me so angry
I am really getting sick of all the made up fees. I go to Vegas 2-4 times a year but I am thinking of paring that down to 1-2 times a year and choosing another destination going forward. I hate feeling like I am being fee'd to death.
Alexxa C&E fee? Again, I just lower the percentage I tip? Before anyone says I'm just punishing staff: it's my money. Besides remember when tipping was 10%? It's been creeping up 15% then 20%, there's some that even suggest 24%.

Vote with your wallet. Until enough folks, collectively, cause a significant drop in revenue for these businesses, it won’t change._
I’m so happy I found your page!
Thanks so much, we are glad that you have joined us!
I avoid getting screwed in Vegas by staying in California and getting screwed.
California is horrible, I can see why people are fleeing by the thousands
Hahaha!!! I avoid getting screwed in Vegas by staying in Colorado and getting screwed; Touche'
🤣
Funny, not funny
California 😂? People still live there??
Thanks for this info. I was thinking about going back to Vegas and this has helped me make-up my mind that it’s just not worth it anymore. I’ll avoid all of those fees by gambling here in Oklahoma.
Thanks so much for the useful information - yoou always give us what we need!
We only head to LV once or twice a year from the UK, but each time there are changes, with new fees, and additional charges here and there. Maybe the hotels, restaurants, venues or whereever could think about it from the buyer's perspective for a change. Be upfront, open and honest instead of sneaking things onto your bill at the end.
im a new subscriber and i LOVE YOU GUYS!!! great channel..keep going!!!
We will be in Vegas the first week of October. Thank you I learned some new and very helpful things about fees. You two rock!
Hi Tanya and Dave,
Thanks so much for sharing this pertinent infirmation!
The other fees are annoying but I still feel that Vegas prices are no different than any other major tourist city. . It’s still possible to have a great time in Vegas without spending a fortune. .
Thanks for the info....definitely I will never spend my hard earned money in Vegas. Europe here I come.
I avoid these fees by not going to Vegas in the first place.
Great video as always Tonya and Dave. Take care. Helena
Great video. Thank you both. We are going to Vegas in November, so I will be asking about hidden fees. Thanks a ton!
If everyone deducted the employer fee and other fees restaurants charge from the tip, that'll get the waiters and waitresses to complain to management and maybe change the policy.
I work at mgm. Fees are the biggest complaint that I hear at the bar. The second biggest complaint is drink prices.
I miss the older days of Las Vegas…
Before 2005!!
When I stayed in Vegas I demanded for the flamingo to drop resort fees I wasn't driving I wasn't using anything. Hotels are getting money hungr
Wonderful video. Thanks for sharing the useful information. A big LIKE from Singapore.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it. Are you planning a trip to Las Vegas?
I was just in Vegas and went to the Mexican restaurant on the Linq promenade. I noticed a small concession fee disclaimer on the sign out front but was willing to ask for the fee to be removed after the meal. I tried asking the server, he said he'd ask the manager. He came back and said nothing with the fee still on the bill. So I figured out the tip, minus the fee and that was the tip. Something's got to be done with all the extra nickel and dime fees.
great, you did a good job
Vegas is wrong for all of those added fees! 🙄 just greedy! Will still be going though, it’s a vibe you cannot beat!
The MGM credit card (no annual fee) provides automatic Pearl status that includes free parking at any MGM property. One way to score free parking. 😎
I noticed Ole Red has an entertainment fee. It is in small print on the menu. I didn't think to ask to have it removed. Whenever I eat at Cabo Wabo I always ask for the CNF fee to be removed and it's never been a problem.
Thanks so much for sharing, very helpful! A lot of Las Vegas have success getting the CNF fee removed!
Thanks for the heads up
Great advice...thanks, heading to Vegas tomorrow...staying at Durango and Red Rock.....I have Caesar's privilege as a Seven Star, waived resort fees, internet, and free parking, but it's such a hassle to get there.....guess I'm getting old 😂😂but I prefer the Red Rock over the strip hassle. If I have an offer at Caesars I'll go there, but my stay is at Red Rock.....it's so comfortable, spacious and I can play all of the "old" Buffalo I want too😊. Anywhoo, thank you for these type of videos, they are short, sweet, and very informative.
Wow, it's like they don't want you coming anymore. They're trying to see how much they can push you until you say enough. People can continue getting ripped off. As for me, that's it, no more. I used to go 4 times a year too.
Hi. Saw your video. At the restaurants in Paris LV we were told that the CNF fee was in restaurants that are not owned or affiliated with the resort because they have to pay that casino a lease fee
That may be true but they should just set their menu prices accordingly.
People just leave stupid comments because it makes them feel like a know it all.
Not just Vegas! I checked and found sneaky fees at 4 of my local bar & grilles.
Great Video
THANKS!
What the 🤬. Soon people will just visit Vegas and leave after gambling and eating because here comes the speed train from L.A to Vegas...let's see what they do then...
Once that speed train is built that would be a definite plan!
NIGHT CLUB'S $50 DRINKS 😮
Thanks for sharing!
In Reno Boomtown free parking
Ty for letting me know !
These sneaky fees are the reason why I would rather go to a local casino near my home and get comp rooms with no resort fees and no taxes, sure it’s not the glitz and glam of Vegas, but at least I don’t have to give up a kidney to enjoy my self. Corporate Greed.
The problem is Vegas is making record revunues. So don't expect anything to change.
Rarely get a thank you either. Pisses me off.
The signature was our go-to place. Now they don't allow dogs. It's run down now too.
Vegas doesn’t get my business anymore. I was going 1-3 times a year for years since around 1995 eventhough my first trip was 1978.
What used to be an adventure in the only adult oasis has now become a fee riddled , Disneyland with gambling. It was fun while it lasted.
In Canada, no fees, no smoking, no tax on winnings (any amount), no kids, no pets, no resort fee (they hold $100 on your card ,but don’t charge it when you check out)
For a Canadian and some other visitors, by the time you buy USD exchange, flight and all the fees , plus the strip and casino chaos it is to costly for a place they expect you lose your money gambling.
Don't they refund the deposit?
Bellagio is going to do the same. Pretty much all hotels in Vegas take a certain amount of money and put it in escrow as a hedge against damages or unpaid bills. Once you check, out and your haven't wrecked the place, you get your money refunded within 7 business days.
Hate the fees but love Vegas will be back Halloween
We love Vegas too, we also try to avoid these hidden fees if we can!!
Im Canadian and they will loose becuse at 4 days At 60$. I stay two blocks off the strip no fee. Taxi total 20$ a day for a total of $80. And maybe walk once to save even more. Plus you sleep a lot better without the racket.
Been to vegas a couple of times from uk.Want to go again but it just looks too expensive now
I can’t help but be mesmerized by your Sammy Davis Jr quality-level shirt, my white brother 😀
i have a stupid question, i'm planning my vegas trip, i went on airbnb.... how do u find mgm signature? .... i looked couldn't find it.... all of these fees are so ridiculous its dissuading me from coming to vegas😔.... you can go to europe or on a cruise for what they are charging you nowadays....😔
Thanks, good question. We have had success searching MGM Signature in the app. The Elara is very nice as well if you are looking for an apartment style stay.
You can find it on Priceline, you just have to scroll a bit.
Great video!
Someday they’ll reach a tipping point where Vegas will be unaffordable for the average person and slowly people will stop coming. Then and only then will Vegas Casinos start to reduce or eliminate fees altogether. It’s a greedy money grab no matter what you call it.
it shouldn't go that far.
Let’s stay positive and believe that’s the case but money has a way altering corporate’s perception on how much they can milk out of people.
True but their main revenue is no longer gambling.
Being a nurse, patients would not so quickly go along with an employee health benefit fee on their medical bills.
sounds like time to find a different place to stay and gamble.
Been there, done that. I'll pass. I'll take that extra fee $$$ that it would cost me and vacation somewhere else.
Can you guys do a quick update on what it looks like bc of the F1 races?
Tourist staying at MGM : Excuse me sir /mam ? Do you work here ?
MGM employee : Yes I do
Tourist : Can you tell or point the way to the pool ?
MGM Employee : That will be 5 dollars in cash or 10 dollars added to you room as a service charge
Also the Ahearn off Sahara and Vegas Blvd is resort fee free and free parking but it's non gambling
Might be a hotel without a casino, but, you are close to hotels with a casino.
We learned the hard way lol some restaurants on party of 6 or more automatically charge a 18% or more gratuity fee wtf! For our bill last time was 60 dollars for that gratuity fee I was not happy about that
i was working at a japanese ramen resturant by horseshoe 2 yrs ago, they charged 18% for group of " 4"......
if they add all these fees its donna be passed on to the workers O tax I waited ten min at a gift shop why they were on the phone two bottled water 8 bucks no tip
And that's why i won't be back until they stop the gouging
Don’t forget about Caesars early check-in fee
I've noticed off strip that some restaurants are now charging you more if you pay by credit card. Even my cheap Chinese restaurant asks "will that be cash or credit" before giving me the total now. Is this also happening on the strip?
Thanks for the updates and reminders on all these fees.
Can't believe MGM is charging for booking using a phone call. That's crazy.
Actually that’s pretty weird besides being a rip.?
In some Hotels from The IHG Group they have a daily Amanity Fee for fresh towels and showergels hairshampoo and soap between 15 $ up to 43 $ additional tax !
I Pay 35 $ in a Holliday Inn hotel in New York City
Thats male me so angry
Thanks for sharing, very helpful. Have you seen this in Las Vegas too?
@@TurnItUpWorld this Amanity Fee have i seen online in in New York and LA
I am really getting sick of all the made up fees. I go to Vegas 2-4 times a year but I am thinking of paring that down to 1-2 times a year and choosing another destination going forward. I hate feeling like I am being fee'd to death.
Is there a fee to breath the air?
😂😂😂
When will they start with a breathing fee?
Shhh...don't give them any ideas. I am waiting for the JBWWMM fee. (Just Because We Want More Money)
Don't forget about the deposit on top of the resort fees😐👀
Yes, thanks for sharing!
At Blondie's just take it out of the tip.
Blondie's also has the CNF fee.
Thanks for the info.
We won’t be going there.
We’re looking for a new place now that Ocean One has closed.
Alexxa C&E fee? Again, I just lower the percentage I tip? Before anyone says I'm just punishing staff: it's my money. Besides remember when tipping was 10%? It's been creeping up 15% then 20%, there's some that even suggest 24%.
Wow mgm. What a joke. You are right. I like talking to ppl. Vegas is getting ridiculous with fees. I won't be back. Can go on a cruise for no where near what it would cost to go to Vegas.
