    Awesome video. I'm shopping for my first snow blower (looking at toro single stage) and this video has answered a ton of questions I've had.

    Where can I get the rec-fuel?

  • @evictioncarpentry2628
    @evictioncarpentry2628 3 роки тому +2

    Always use premium in small engines. Only regular and mid grade have ethanol.

    • @danczuba
      @danczuba  3 роки тому +2

      Technically that's not true 😉. The regulations vary by state. Missouri and Montana have special exemptions to allow premium fuel to be ethanol free. Most states have ethanol in premium; and most gas stations only have the low grade and the premium gas, which they mix to make mid-grade. True rec fuel is about 90 octane, comparable to premium.

      As you state, it depends on the state….At least here in the Iowa Quad-Cities we have a couple stations that sell premium non-ethanol. I know because I specifically asked the station managers.

      Some gas stations will have it, many fuel suppliers in rural areas, also Marina's carry recreational fuel. We typically have it delivered in large quantities

    I was given a similar snow blower (used it during the winter- saved time!) Only thing is that it was difficult to move in the snow, can the tires be changed to a larger size?

    • @danczuba
      @danczuba  2 роки тому

      The tires are only for transport between uses... The snowblower itself should pull its way through the snow. If it doesn't it probably needs new paddles and a scraper bar. Technically, you don't even need the wheels while you are snow blowing.

    I want metal paddles, to crush the ice!

    I have this specific model. Im struggling figuring out how to reassemble the chute, plate, and mounting piece. I took all of that off trying to get to the spark plug. Everything is put back together except the chute because I don’t remember how I took it off. Do you still have this model?

    • @danczuba
      @danczuba  2 роки тому

      Yes I have four of them. The chute is kind of a snap on design. You have to flex the plastic over the other plastic, and the tension holds the chute in place over the serrated detents.

    Hi Dan. I've got a 2 year old Toro 721 that works fine, but is leaving black skid marks on my concrete. Can be 5 foot long! Doesn't happen the whole time. Maybe just the last time I used it. Not sure.
    The wear hole is still completely visible so doesn't appear to be worn out. Same with scraper bar.
    Got any ideas why I'm getting black marks? Any help would be appreciated.

    • @danczuba
      @danczuba  2 роки тому +1

      Paddles scuff with every movement... You need to purchase the orange paddles that don't scuff.

      @@danczuba I don't think I have tracks. This is a paddle wheel Toro 721. Similar to the one in your video.

      I think I found what you're talking about. EPR makes orange paddles. Look like synthetic plastic and supposed to be longer life.
      Thanks for your help.

    Whats that rubber tube 4:40 for? Mine is leaking fuel from that tube while I lay my blower down.

    • @danczuba
      @danczuba  3 роки тому +1

      It is a fuel vent tube that goes to the carburetor. If you tip the machine then fuel can spill out of the carburetor and come out this vent tube. If fuel comes out of this vent tube without tilting the machine then the needle and seat could be stuck or out of adjustment or there could be gunk in the carburetor. Under normal usage on a level surface there should not be fuel coming out of the vent tube. Hope this helps.

    • @tiffanyhwang1738
      @tiffanyhwang1738 3 роки тому

      @@danczuba OK thanks, my blower was tilted when the leakage happened. By the way, does the blower just take regular 87 gas from the gas stations?

    • @danczuba
      @danczuba  3 роки тому +2

      We recommend using recreational fuel or non-ethanol fuel.

  • @stockstnt8
    @stockstnt8 2 роки тому

    What do you mean by RECREATIONAL FUEL???

    • @danczuba
      @danczuba  2 роки тому

      Rec fuel is meant for off-road vehicles and equipment. They do not put the gas tax on it and it is typically a higher octane grade fuel.

    How did the snowblower get so rusty?

    • @danczuba
      @danczuba  3 роки тому

      We use them commercially so they get scraped up along curbs. Then they rust when they sit over the summer.
