  • G-FORCE T42 AND MANY OTHER BIKE DISPLAY SETTINGS model YL80C.
    THIS IS FOR ALL OF THE DEFAULT DISPLAY SETTINGS FOR THE G-FORCE T42 WITH A COMPLETE EXPLANATION OF MOST OF THE SETTINGS!!
    A LOT OF DIFFERENT E-BIKES USE THIS DISPLAY ( YL80C ) THIS SHOULD HELP MANY OF YOU!!
    This model is used for A bunch of other bikes. These settings will only work with a 22 amp controller, 750 watt 1,000 watt peak e-bike. Please refer to your specifications of your bike based on what the manufacturer tells you The settings should be. Even the smallest incorrect setting could make your bike inoperable..
    People always wonder why they do not give you all the settings and tell you what they do for these e-bikes. Because they're very specific for that particular bike and if you change them you can screw up your bike.
    I will do my best to go through each setting and what the manual tells you they mean. This is the display manufacturer's manual with all the settings in it not the one you get from your bike company!!
    SO BEWARE BE CAREFUL I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR MISTAKES!!

    Maybe someone's already mentioned it, "Handlebar Assistance" is manufacturers way of saying "Throttle ", It can be set so the throttle power is relative to the PAS number, OR the throttle bypasses the PAS and goes from 0-100%.

      Thank you I tried 🤣
      I just got to learn to make video shorter but sometimes I don't know how.
      I'll get better at it! I have tons of videos coming on e-bikes and a bunch of other stuff. G-Force T42 versus the LECTRIC XP 2.0..
      Also information on how to change the G-Force in the LECTRIC 2.0 A better 7 gear sprocket system in the back. Makes a big difference when you're going fast.
      Also derailleur work, adjustments, how to stop breaks from rubbing, making squeaking noises, BLEEDING HYDRAULIC BRAKES, straightening out brake rotors on bikes. Etc.....
      Because I own both of them One is for my wife and the G-Force for me.
      SPOILER THE G-FORCE T42 IS A MUCH BETTER BIKE WITH BETTER SPECS!!
      ;)
      But the video is coming..
      The reason why I take so long for these videos to be uploaded is because you have to edit them. And it takes a while..
      But I'll get to them 😀

      @@thefix-itguyreviewer8151 my bike came with bent front forks :( I can’t even assemble it. Any tips on how to go about straightening them? I don’t exactly have any tools for that kind of thing. They’re not off by too much but enough that you can’t align the axle in the dropouts at all. And when you do get it close the brake caliper is not even close to lining up with the disc. I did not mess with anything and I took photos and videos and sent them to G force. I am not sure what to do cause I’m not terribly mechanically inclined and I’ve seen people reporting that they had a hard time getting refunds even from shipping damage. Any ideas, tips? Have you heard of this being an issue before on these bikes?

      I'm glad I can help. Just that The only thing you have to realize is that every bike has different specifications with that particular universal screen.
      For instance if the amperage, and the power of your hub is different than the G-Force bike you need to set that accordingly with the specifications from the manufacturer..
      You should definitely ask them what the amp is of your controller and the power of your hub.
      They're all pretty close but you can make a big difference and burn out your controller and hub.

    It's important to point out that in Florida (as of 4/20/23), regardless of the potential or actual speed of your e-bike, as long as it has pedals, one can travel anywhere a bike can travel and without plates, insurance, inspections, etc and technically at any rate of speed (it's possible in some counties and/or municipalities this may be forbidden - I'm not a lawyer, but I sure as hell did my homework). True story

    • @thefix-itguyreviewer8151
      @thefix-itguyreviewer8151  Рік тому +1

      Well that's just horrible.. I say that in terms of bike trails.. they can drive 40 mph on a bike trail if the bike can do it!! That's just ridiculous You need speed restrictions when you're around people like that in a confined area like a bike trail. Florida is Florida they have very little rules I mean don't even get me started about that place. It'll bring up a big crazy conversation.. I don't believe everyone should be controlled but certain things should be controlled just like the speed of a bike on a trail.. if it's a class 3 bike the maximum speed I think is 30 mph and for the love of God you don't need to go faster than that especially on a bike trail!!

Don't forget, at one point there weren't speed limits on any roads in America or any other country, for that matter. Like almost any other law, rule or regulation (except for the majority of drug laws we have in place here in America and elsewhere, but that's a 12-hour video in itself), all is fine until Karen gets her leash run over by a bicyclist who happens to be black or someone with a little bit of pull and a LOT of ego and/or cluster b-type personality disorder has their manicured yard trashed by some neighborhood kid with the bright idea of doing donuts or something along those lines.

But literally everything else is the same smh

    • @thefix-itguyreviewer8151
      @thefix-itguyreviewer8151  Рік тому

      I don't think you got your settings right.
      To get to the tire size you have to be very specific to get into that menu as I explain in the video.
      There's three ways to get into this menu settings.
      The first way I think you have the default which is DEF you described. You don't want to change this. To get into this You press the minus button and the information button at the same time. D e f - n means don't change defaults d e f - y means change to defaults. You don't want to change the defaults because it was set up for that particular motor in controller.. defaults sets it back to the factory defaults.. The factory doesn't know what motor and control you have and how it should be set up with the magnets.
      That's why you should follow specifically what I showed you and copy it to a t. So if you did set it back to DEF - Y You have to go back through every setting and put it back exactly the way it was in my video.
      The second way to get into settings is to press the plus and minus at the same time This is where you get your basic couple of settings one of them is setting the trip back to zero. By default it does not go back to zero you have to do it manually which I actually like.
      The next set of settings is after you press the plus and minus once at the same time to get into those settings. Do not go back to the main screen again to get to the tire settings You now hit The minus and the information button on the side top at the same time. This will not be the DEF setting anymore now it will be the LD setting the tire setting and other settings.
      The third way to get into settings to all of the main settings Plus the plus and minus button once at the same time from the main screen. Then plus without going back press the plus and minus button AGIAN And it will bring you to the third set of settings that I show.
      I don't think you're paying attention to what I'm pressing It's all in the video listen carefully.
      ;)

      @thefix-itguyreviewer8151  Рік тому +1

      FYI those battery settings are completely wrong. It will never read right if you do that. You have a 48 volt battery. The maximum voltage for 48 volt battery 54.6 volts That's the max.
      You want to set the voltage as follows as I show in the video to put it back to default settings Even though you can change it to anything you want here's what it all boils down to.
      -------
      FORCE T42 BATTERY VOLTAGE INFORMATION
      Keep in mind these are the percentages of volts until that BAR GOES BELOW THAT PARTICULAR VOLTAGE. So for instance a full 48 VOLT S13 battery is 54.6 volts. It will look like the battery is full because the fifth bar last bar will not go away until it goes below 49 volts which is approximately 65% battery. So that one bar goes from 100% to 65%. Which means the percentage can vary between those two numbers in that one bar 35%. In other words when that battery looks full. It could mean it's 65%, 75, 85, 95 or 100%.. any numbers in between 65 to 100.. Hope I didn't confuse everybody
      Also worth noting when that last bar is showing it is about 40 volts. Which means you're below 20% at about 10%. It is not healthy to go below 10% most battery companies will tell you try not to go below 20% So as soon as you see 2nd bar go away And you only have one left I hope you're close to home.. better yet as soon as you Your bar dropped from 3 to 2 which is 35% get home ASAP.
      charging a battery from zero all the way up to grades the battery significantly. Just like always leaving it charged to 100%. Never leave the charger plugged into the battery. And never leave your battery charged 100% for more than 10 days. The battery is happiest between 20 and 80% with the best percentage to store the battery is approximately 40 to 60% ( unfortunately this is the world of batteries!! ) And the biggest downfall of the electric world!!
      And one more thing when you're charging your battery. Do not charge it right away after you've been Riding. One of the biggest enemies in why batteries fail is being too hot. Let it cool down to room temperature before you charge it ;)
      1st bar - 40 volts = 8 to 10%
      2nd bar - 44.5 volts = 35%
      3rd bar - 46.5 volts = about 50%
      4th bar - 47.5 - volts = 55%
      5th bar - 49.0 - volts = 65%

    • @thefix-itguyreviewer8151
      @thefix-itguyreviewer8151  Рік тому +1

      Again for clarity You're getting the DEF menu because you didn't get into the basic menu first.
      You have to press the plus and minus button first to get to the basic menu ( Then you press the minus in the info button to get into the other settings )
      Your problem is you're pressing the minus button and the info button first before you get into the main menu. That will bring you to the DEF settings
      Again it's all in the video if you pay attention.
      ;)

    I just got a G-Force T42 sent to me in the UK and because of my location it's supposed to be restricted to 15.5mph but it actually goes up to 30! I'm not complaining but would like to set the top speed to a little less and my display is not set up anything like the T42 manual or the Yolin manual or how it is in this video. I contacted support and should hopefully hear back soon. But wondered if anyone else has come across this... When I power on, then from the main screen, hold + and -, it shows P1 which allows me to set the back light, 3 levels of brightness. If I press + it shows P2, which lets me choose between mile/h and km/h. If I press + again it shows P3 which lets me set a parameter from 0 mile/h to 62 mile/h and I don't understand this as obviously the bike doesn't go up to 62 and if I change it (it was at 62 to begin with), nothing changes. If I press + again it shows P4 with a choice of dEF-n and dEF-y, which seems to be the option for leaving settings as they are or resetting to default. That's it, and no combination of button presses gets me into any other kind of menu! When at the main screen, if I hold -, it doesn't show the walking mode symbol or do anything either. It's really weird!

      Thank you for your contact
      Your display may be a European display agreement.
      Don't worry , this is normal, because the advanced menu is locked.
      I'm sorry that the user manual you saw was uploaded by us before, and it may include some advanced menu contents.
      Our ebikes are sold in countries around the world.
      In the European market, we only started to promote them later, so that we did not produce the contents of the user manual of the European agreement version soon.
      We have adjusted all the values to the most appropriate, and the European buyer cannot modify the advanced menu.
      This depends on relevant European road regulations and suggestions from other European customers.
      For example, there are only three optional pedal assist levels in the United States.
      Because we have met some European customers before, they did not modify some values without contacting us, which led to many problems and may ebike not even work properly.
      We just want our valued customer's ebike to work properly and avoid some unnecessary mistakes.
      This is to prevent the buyer from modifying some values without permission and causing problems.
      This will not affect the normal work of your ebike at all.
      We have adjusted all the values to the most appropriate, and the buyer cannot modify the advanced menu.
      0~5 pedal assist gear, the default gear is 1 when starting.
      In gear 0, there is no assist function /throttle, and no boost function.
      P1 display brightness, P2 metric and kilometre unit conversion, P3 maximum speed limit setting, P4 restore default factory settings.

      @@ChiefJoeOnline Thanks, they more or less said the same to me but without the lengthy explanation. They told me that the latest model has the settings like mine and sent me the video showing those functions. They also offered to send me a new motor controller that will either be limited to 15.5mph or allow me to limit it (they were a bit vague on this). I let them know that the speed limit function and walk mode don't actually work for me but they didn't comment on this. I'm hoping the new controller will let me set the speed limit properly but allow me to go a little faster than 15.5 if I choose. At least I have the option of either controller! Will let you know when I get it and try it out. Does your speed limit function work? I'm baffled that it has a range of 0-62 when the bike's max is 30 and for me no value I set makes any difference

      @@scoobyjenkins To be honest i havent really tested it out, ive only gone maybe 2 miles on it so far. Ive also gotten 30mph out of it. I just want to be able to fine tune speed 1 to maybe 3mph because when i go to turn a corner or make a u turn, the power kicks in and it doesnt feel safe. I may request a new controller and see what they say.

    OK I really need anyone's help here. I just got my t42 last friday aug 11th. And I already wrote to Gforce twice about this and they have yet to send me an intelligent reply. On the newest models, Gforce has decided to force a new feature on the T42. When you keep the throttle down for more than 8 seconds straight, the throttle remains on full power (cruise) even though you have released the handle. They have confirmed that to me yesterday. And that is a default setting now. You don't even need to activate it, it is setup by default and its annoying when you need to slow down, because it does not. In short, the cruise gets on automatically and to turn if off, you need to press the throttle again or use the brakes. I asked them, well great ! now how do you turn it off ? Because, you know its dangerous. And that was their official reply. «Just press the throttle again or use the brakes» hell yeah ! Now I told them we need to turn this off, it doesnt make sense that you can't turn it off, and i am still waiting for a reply from them. I looked in the whole settings and i can't find anything related to the throttle/auto cruise and yes i have the YL80C manual. Anyone who can help me with this would be most welcome !

      It's not going to hurt anything but it's going to show the battery being very inaccurate. The max voltage for these batteries is 54.0 for the maximum voltage. I would put 4 back to 47.5 , and number 5 back to 49.0
      If you don't you really won't get a very accurate battery reading.

      @thefix-itguyreviewer8151  Рік тому +1

      Sounds like the power switch, a loose connection somewhere, or you could have a bad battery.
      Battery is not supposed to leave them charged at 100% when you store them for more than a month. And you're not supposed to really let it go below 20%. That's if you want the batteries to not go bad quickly. If it goes to zero and goes too low then your battery won't even turn on it's a failsafe thing in all ion batteries. Also when your battery is fully charged when the light turns to green. Make sure you unplug it Don't leave it plugged in all the time. Kind of the same rules as your phone.
      I think someone had this issue before. I think it was the controller.
      There's a way to test your battery with a voltmeter..
      The first thing I would do is to check all the connections.. But first plug your battery in. The light on the brick will be red and then turn green when it's completely charged. If you leave it on there for more than 4 hours and it does not turn to green then something is wrong.
      unplug and plug the back in. You could see them in their color-coded near the handlebars they're probably wrapped in that stuff..

      The other thing is you left it at your daughter's did anyone play with it, touch it, how old is your daughter? I had an issue once we are the lights wouldn't come on and it was only because of the connection was loose it got pulled. So like I said in the previous post. Check those connections unplug them plug them in after you check the battery.
