As usual, a lousy job by the dealer! GM and Ford are the same way. Unfortunately, if you want it done correctly, you have to do it yourself. Thank heavens there are people like you that are a super help for do-it-yourselfers! ! ! Thanks
Blame the flat rate system the mechanic is trying to make his paycheck the owners don't care, he may have to come in Saturday or even Sunday. But flat rate creates hacks, a quote from a Dodge dealer owner.
I would try salvage yard to find a shield. Plugs look great. Would clean out upper intake but be very careful of the sensors. Thanks for the video.
Support brackets on back are a pain if you let it
Great job on the video! Thank you for the step by step instructions.
currently at 31k miles. 😂
This video is really helpful for removing the manifold. Did your Pacifica have an odd bracket that fit on the throttle body support bolt?
The only odd bracket is the one right below the throttle body, but nothing unusual elsewhere.
Forgive my stupid question, but where are the other three spark plugs located?
Near the firewall (the back), those sparkplug are accessible without the need to remove the upper intake manifold plenum.
So all the electrical plugs, harnesses, and harness tie downs just mysteriously disappear and come off. Wish my car did that.
Also your video I think is the best step by step by far
The book calls for Champion 9417 plugs for the 17+ Pacifica it doesn't say NGK, just curious why you had a bad experience with Champion
That's just me. A lot of chrysler pacifica owners do have good luck with Champion Spark Plug.
Forgot to put my heat shield back in do you think I need to open it back up to put it in
I bought a new one and put on mine because I'm being a perfectionist, lol.
Answer your question, you really don't need to put it back on, and it's not going to make any difference. Most Owner took them off because they wanted air flow.
@@150SCOOTERthank you
Slap them back in? Do you use a specific torque?
Intake bolts 7-9 ft-lbs, spark plugs 13 ft-lbs, coil 8 ft-lbs.
Lol, champion spark plugs are good millions of cars have them no problem. You may have used the plugs for the wrong application. On some older volvos, you can not use platinum plugs. The coils can't fire correctly you need regular copper plugs.
Why didn5 you show the rear spark plugs Bro? Dang man, I watched the whole thing hoping to see the rear done dude.
You can access the rear sparkplug without the need to remove anything. That's why I didn't video it.
@150SCOOTER it's the clearance brother, that I want to see you deal with. There a wall in the way. So what tools did you use etc? The close side you have all the room in th world. The far side by the wall not so much. That's why I'm ranting.
@cuinican1980 don't worry, there is enough clearance for regular socket and ratchet with 4 inches extender or x2 inches extender.
@150SCOOTER Thank you for reply, I'll give you thumbs up. After I try and if you are correct. Hahahaha....no seriously, thank you for tye reply. I'm waiting on the parts. Be here Monday, i ordered from Mopar, 6 injectors , spark plugs and manifold gaskets. Hence why I been watching videos. I'm a grease monkey I'm 44 years old. Never had UA-cam as a kid. Pretty cool can watch a video and get at it.
God Bless and Thanks again....
What happened to your oil cooler housing? How much did the dealer charge you?
Leaking from the rubber seal. Replaced under warranty, but the cost for parts and labor is over $1,000.
@@150SCOOTERI have the '18 also and will be replacing my oil cooler next month myself😮
Don't dish the dealer mechanic because when you and your so called smart mechanic can't fix it you take it to the dealer, they have no problem fixing it. The dealer mechanic is 5 to 6 years ahead of your mechanic in technology.
The Jeep and Chrysler dealers are the ones who got me into all this problem 😂. Not all dealerships are created equal.
