I Love this! Hubby: Have you seen my can of shaving cream? I just bought a new one" Me: "Nope, are you sure you had one"? Hubby: Hm, I found an empty can in your craft room trash." Me: "Really? That's weird"
LOL! Mine is: Husband: Put shaving cream on the list. Me: Uh... (goes to basement, grabs a can from my stash) Husband: Wow. You're fast! Rubbing alcohol? Me: Only about 3 bottles. Do you need some? Husband (who's a chef): We're out of cornstarch Me: Nope. (produces a box from art supplies)
I've seen a few of shaving foam videos but this is by far, the most concise, easily understood and variation of technique I've seen. Thanks for posting.
Hi there! ... first time viewer from Southern California. 🙋. Isn't this fun? ...and yes, the smell of the shaving cream... I love it too, tho mine did stay on the paper for quite some time. I learned this from Nik the Booksmith and had no idea that paint worked for coloring, I thought it could only be food coloring, so thank you for that! It also never occurred to me to marble on black. I LOVE black and will try that as well. It's been a pleasure watching you this afternoon. I'll be back soon. MK ❤️☀️🌵
I volunteered & helped the "activities director" years ago in a retirement home. What a fun project it could be for the elderly & children groups, or the two combined. Could make their own greeting cards to send out. So many possibilities!!
Oh wow Nina they look amazing! When you mentioned my name I shouted that’s me! lol no one else here so I didn’t need to shout but it’s not every day you get mentioned by your favourite crafter😲😉 even the neutral colours worked really well, shaving foam will be ordered very soon I feel, take care xxx💕
Really nice video I like the darker shades more than the neutral colors I will try this with my 10yr old grandson and may e it will help him get off his 24/7 computer games. Thank you again for all this 😊😊😊
Thank you so much. I’m sure your Grandson would love this project. My boys always loved it when I got the salad spinner out for marbling as well. Here is a video I did with my son when he was a similar age to your Grandson. I’m sure he would enjoy this as well ❤️ ua-cam.com/video/StLyovBfkuQ/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Oh, Nina! Your papers are breathtaking! I love them all! They will make gorgeous end papers on a repurposed book journal!!! This is a terrific idea! A must try!!! TFS I did. God bless and stay safe.
Hi Nina I love the monocraitc colors. They are beautiful !! Also the added colors are running too !!! Espically the fusha ones !! OMG the metallics are so very beautiful. I like hem best !!!
Good evening nina, no shaving cream around the house( ha ha).... often played with shaving cream with the children, but never have done this, so next time I go shopping I will buy some cream and play again. Your marbled papers looked great, very much liked the black one. Nail polish I do have and I will watch that video too, the prints looked incredible. I wish you a good sunday and a good week, lots of love lenaxxxx
Hello Lena. This is such a fun project and one I’m sure you will love as the end results are so gorgeous. Happy Creating and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Steve and I have been busy decorating Alex’s new flat which he is desperate to move into by the end of the month. We have spent all week there and now our bodies are aching! Just the kitchen left to do now which we are hoping we will finish tomorrow 🤞. Hope you’ve had a good week. Love and hugs ❤️ xxxx
Oh I love the idea at the end. It was great to be reminded about using nail polish. I have used nail polish in the past for marbling on lots of different materials. I was just thinking the other day I needed to use up some of my old nail polish on some sort of projects, and now I have an idea to use it on paper. I love all of the beautiful colors that came out of using the paint and shaving cream. Again it's a great way to use up some of those old paints before they go bad. This will be fun to do outside this summer too. Thanks for sharing and giving great inspiration.
Oooh Nina I adore this . I have seen this technique before .. but never with the metallic which is stunning . Feeling extremely tempted to give this a go. ! Thank you so much . Have a good week . Kay x
You should definitely try it Kay. It’s such a lot of fun and the results are amazing. I will be exploring more with this for sure as I forgotten how much fun it was ❤️ xx
I've done this with food colours as well and they have stood up on colour over a few decades now :) Love these, will need to go hunt through my paints.
@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia the colours are more muted, but they are nice just the same. I am thinking I may cut a batch of paper on the weekend and get a tray sorted and have fun with the paints.
Thanks for the fun tutorial. I tried it and used shaving gel (no foam handy). It actually worked just fine. The gel lathered up and held the paint. My gel smells like vanilla, so the house smells like cookies!
Does shaving foam count as essential shopping? Asking for a friend! 🤔 I know, will send Andy out to shop 🤣😂 what lovely results from this technique, particularly liked the metallics on black card! Thanks for a great start to March Nina, have a lovely week 💕💫
Hello Nina, Lovely collection of papers using shaving cream. I remember doing this when I was a child with my Mom, thanks for bringing back fond memories of my Mom for me. Have a lovely day!
It's alot of fun using the shaving cream, l did some paper a year ago and the smell is still on them not a strong and l just love them. Have a wonderful day 🙂
I have done shaving foam prints with paints and even sprays with awesome results also have done dips with nail polish and water. Gonna try nail polish with shaving foam and see what I can get. Live to play and make exciting new backgrounds 🤩🤩🤩❤️
It funny I just got some shaving foam to do some papers. They just beautiful 😍 ❤ love. Going to pick up some nail from market today.thanks love your video 's.
These are gorgeous! I love how they look like leaves on some of them and, yes, some look like Liberty prints. These would make amazing fabrics too. I can't wait to try this x
Your papers turned out beautiful. Years ago when my stamp group did this we used reinkers instead of paint. I'm going to try paint the next time I do this. Less expensive and I've got lots of paints to use up. Thank you.
Thanks Cindy. It’s a great way to use up old paints. I’ve tried it with alcohol and Bombay inks and they work beautifully, but I’ve not tried reinkers. I do want to give my distress reinkers a try though. Have a great weekend 💕
How serendipitous, Nina, as I had Alan pick up some shaving cream last week, so I could have a play with this fun technique, after many years. I had something in mind, which I’ll share on our week 1 of March prompt. Fun watching you play and experiment.
These are so beautiful, Nina. I have had a go at this once quite a few years ago and enjoyed it very much so I'm definitely going to have another go after seeing your beautiful results. Many thanks as ever.
Oh, Nina! I was just thinking that I needed to create some more marbled papers for my stash as I have just about run all through them. I'm excited about this prompt! I love all of the ones you did and can't bring myself to pick one. But I have to say the metallic ones are amazing both on the white and black card stock. A great refresher coarse on the technique! Thanks again.
I love anything with a marbled pattern, but very glad I tried the metallic ones on black. I’ll be making more of these when I have time next week. Happy Creating 💕
I’ve done this years ago and the shaving cream smells so nice. It’s a great idea because no cards are ever the same. It’s a fun project and your paper seems to be softer. 🤗 hugs from North Carolina USA 🇺🇸
I remember the nail polish marbling, I had a blast doing that and I can't wait to try it with paint and shaving cream. I think I was in grade school last time. Your prints are awesome Nina, I love the one on black. Have a great day.
You can also use food colourings. You created some very interesting pages. Like others I had bought the items previously but as yet have not got around to trying it, well it’s now on next weeks list....
Love these papers you made. I did this years ago with the shaving cream and alcohol inks. I’m now going to try it with the paint Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️
